A fifteen minute video based on one still image? Wow.
I would like to see a metal/carbon fiber studio camera from Canon. Especially if the image is equal to or better than the c700 FF. That camera had an amazing image, and I would love to see some version of it succeed.
The first C500 was S35 and the mkii is full frame, so there's a chance we could see full frame in a C70, but I think it's more likely that we see a larger C50 or something ro replace / sit beside the R5C. I'm pumped for that new camera though, to my eye that sensor looks like it may be 3:2 full frame as well! Just hope it's not a 'halo' product that most of us wont be able to justify buying.
Any chance of a Canon small body like the Sony FX3?
I think the next c70 is going to at least be $8,000 since the c70 was around 6 when it was released. I’m excited to see what they do even though I won’t be buying 😂

I would think the Full Frame C70 would actually be a C50. Following the trend for R7 to R5.

Guys what is up with your image!? It's like the two of you are being shot with completely different cameras, and with completely different looks. Why? I think Brandon's camera has improved a bit but the one on the right is just too off! Why not try to make them a bit more coherent with each other, and create the difference through lighting? It's crazy because normally you show such a care and precision for the image you make, but the podcast has not been ok.
Why do you need to switch camera every time a new one come out?
'Need' is a strong word, but if you can afford it and the work justifies it, why not? You can also get back a lot of the initial investment by timing the used market to sell while the camera is relevent still and using that money to offset the upgrade cost. It's also easy to forget, but lot of the professional cameras in this neck of the market are 3-5 years old at this point, or are based around sensor platforms as old or older - it's time to upgrade for a lot of us.
@@ShaneVanLitz there are no works that justifies to switch camera every years...A lot of great (real) cinematographers still use their "old" Sony FS7, Arri Amira, Sony FS5; Pocket 4k,... (and don't complain about it)...
It's CZcams who create this trend to switch camera every time a new one come out..
@@ShaneVanLitz And it's the worst investment to be honest (it loose value so fast), you better invest in lenses, lighting, tripod, workshop, etc...Or simply rent a real cinema camera when the project justifies it.
I think you’ve created a bit of a narrative about what people do with their money and it’s not really the point. New cameras come out and people use them. Some of the best and busiest ’real’ cinematographers I know were also the ones preordering the Alexa 35 and Sony Burano even though they already have Alexa Minis and Reds so I find this whole idea daft. You do you, let them do what they want to do. IMO stress and comment less about what other people are doing and focus on your filmmaking. Thats what’s really important anyway

Canon is going to disrupt the industry. Think about how long it's been since Canon released a relevant camera? Yes the R3 but it's been long enough. This will also make Sony get off its arse and play catch-up and stay up with Canon. It's only between Canon and Sony because Nikon will be a year out with the Z8II and Z9II. Nikon / Red is 2 years out.
