  • This is the first episode of my 4runner build. This was a tricky thing to build but I think it turned out awesome. Keep tuned in to watch the rest of the build!!

    This is why I got into rc to BUILD not just to become a fitter 😊

    This is why I follow your channel, you think outside of the box and you try again and again until you get it right. I'm a engineer in Union millwright. I honestly enjoy building them more than driving them. I honestly did this same thing to my cen racing F450 to lay it on the ground and still be able to lock the front wheels for burn outs. My truck drags frame and body. Awesome tow truck for my crawlers and no prep drag car's. Keep up the awesome work your doing brother 💯

    Dude you got me itching to build my first rig. I broke my back and neck in 2021, car accident.. in a wheelchair, paralyzed.. I've always built cars, crawlers, ect, ect.... Luckily i still have my upper body to rock & roll with, so im going to start building. I have to finish my full size '69 Ford Ranchero, 351w, all original. Just started to sand the body for paint, put the vinyl top on and shes done. You've really inspired me to build! Right on thanks dude! 🇺🇸♿🤘

    Dog bones are pretty easy to build and allow for in and out movement.

    Pretty solid setup. For the drive cups or U joints, you could run a long bolt through one side to the other. All it has to do is keep the ends in place, not hold power. Or put a spring inside the drive shafts to hold them in.

    I’ve been wanting to do independent suspension with portals for the past few years but never got around to doing it. Glad to see someone else give it a shot

    Awesome video waffles bro great idea hope it all works out, you could mount your servo horn to 1 of the steering bolts and maybe get more steering angle. Good luck and looking forward to the next video 👊🏼🤙🏼

    You should do behind the axle steering. The real toyota steering is behind the axle

    I'm building my 89 bronco as a 1/10 scale rc and I'm working on building my own 4wd twin traction beam set up and I'm doing it a similar way with the same axles

    Thoughts on using flange bearings and a shaft collar on the axles through a plate on the bulkhead you made?

  • @lukelikens2057
    @lukelikens2057 Před 2 měsíci

    Have you thought about use a nitro powered front differential it would handle the abuse and solve the keeping in the axles and don't cost a lot

  • @just-in-time6069
    @just-in-time6069 Před 2 měsíci

    Would been easier to use portal box on end of the ifs kit I'd find cups fit the third member just look at break down of its system on element and u should be able to see how to design it with portals and they make metal upgrades buy having old version and taking it and put in rear on a element to just see if it was possible but doing it with portal box's design to adapt to the setup

  • @Bdug8484
    @Bdug8484 Před 2 měsíci

    Could you possibly use 1/24 or 1/18 scale drive shafts for front axles?

    • @Bdug8484
      @Bdug8484 Před 2 měsíci

      I guess not so much when using the portal hubs. Would have to mate the end of an axle to the end of the drive shafts 🤷🏻‍♂️
