What are you using your weighted vest for?
NoFate Affiliates Page: nofate247.com/affiliates/
Unfortunately I’m a bit beat up in my hips, and I’m in between two hip surgeries, so won’t be planning the typical runs, box jumps, and squats. Best movements I can come up with to use it for are chins-ups, pull-ups, dips, and push-ups (with push-up handles for a deep stretch). If I’m missing anything, I’m all ears! And got another question for you: I’m looking at the storage hanger from PRx to store it, how do you store your vests and plates and/or what do you recommend?
Jonathan! Finally pulled the trigger on a weight vest - all thanks to you. Used your code and links to get the Wolf Tactical quick release with 8.75 lb curved plates for a 20lb vest. I owe everything I know about weight vests to you, so thank you!
That's awesome!!!! Email me your address so I can send you a thank you gift Nofate247@gmail.com
After finishing the video… awesome. You have a great collection of weight vests. I really enjoy a good weight vest work out. Try to use mine in my dynamic cardio days.
Yeah they def. throw a monkey wrench into your expectations of what the workout will be. What kind of vest do you rock?
@@NoFate247 I have a condor vest with 20lb total of weight
The sound effects are too loud
Was the voice OK though? I can lower the sound effects
Voice was good. My ears got assaulted though as I was wearing headphones. Overall good video
@tubbytv5162 will lower them in the future
This is an impeccable video! Thank you very much!
Thanks for watching and subscribing 👍🏼
You’re awesome man! Your coupon code saved me $42. And thanks for recommending the curved weights. This was actually the very first video I watched since I was looking for a weighted vest and it saved me a bunch of time and money. Thanks again bro.
I definitely owe you a thank you gift. Shoot me your address below Nofate247@gmail.com
You missed the most important question. How many 30-round magazine pouches can you fit on each one. All go through.
Lol!!! Not enough!!! Massachusetts has mag restrictions 😥

Any chance of you checking into GoRuck ruck plate carriers (either the Rucker 4.0 or RPC 3.0)? I like the idea of a weighted vest, but my use case is going to be carrying a heavy ruck pack. I don't want to walk around the neighborhood with my actual ruck pack but wouldn't mind carrying one of these small ruck plate carriers. Also, I don't necessarily want to be seen on the local trails and neighborhood walking the dog with one of these "tactical looking" vests.
That makes sense, people can get the wrong ideas with a tactical vest. I'll look into grabbing one and doing a review
Lyle McDonald recommend a weighted vest while losing weight. Start light, for injury prevention and move up to 10% of bodyweight. Wear while active. Helps maintain lean body mass while dropping weight. Great review. Will try the airsoftt vest. Thankyou.🏋🏻
Yeah vests are much better than people give them credit for!
Great video man and it came right on time! My uncle and I have been discussing weight vest and plate carriers for his training so I sent him this video to help him out with his decision making process! Nice job Jonathan!
thanks!!! Yeah weighted vests def. have so many uses.
I think another option is the GoRuck backpack which is mostly used for Rucking however also very comfortable for bodyweight exercises, pullups, dips etc. Plus has benefit of being comfortable for 45+lb Rucks which get heart rate up a lot and burn a lot more calories.
Funny you should mention that :) Might be a future review!!
Checkin' in before Carp 😂
Appreciate you being here. What you up to this weekend?
Workin' more on moving our bedroom to the old gym and probably go for a date night tonight with the kiddo bein gone
You’re speedy! I’m not a big vest guy
I have a built in plate carrier. Very economical (but not cuz food is expensive)
Yeah they are economical. How heavy did you make the one you built
@@NoFate247 I don’t divulge my secrets
I've been watching a few of your videos on weighted vests. I appreciate your energy and sincerity. That being said, I wonder if there are other options for achieving the same results, some of them lower in cost and some of them free. I would like to see you explore them, in another video, even going into some that won't work and why, if needed.
The first thing that comes to mind is the horse stance from martial arts training, which is a form of a squat. And then there are squats, with and without weights. I think it is called incline push ups. Then, there are weights that target a specific part of the body, rather than just making you x pounds heavier. Such as ankle weights, which can be used on either the wrists or the ankles.
Another option for some people is using hills, mountains or stairs, depending on what they have nearby. Most people have access to stairs, somewhere near them! And they can usually be accessed for free. I think using stairs can give you the same rigor as a 1 hour walk in about 15 minutes. So, it isn't a question of how much of a workout you are getting, but one of time management.
My goal isn't to become a fitness warrior like you. I'm training to take a vacation. When I'm on vacation, I tend to stand and walk for hours, and I'm overweight. When I'm at home, I'm pretty sedentary and just walk around or do simple errands. So, in comparison to you and your audience, my fitness goals are modest.
Then, there is the whole stolen valor issue. I'm not a veteran and I don't want to look like a soldier, security guard or a policeman. All the weighted vests you keep showing me would make me look like I'm wearing a bullet proof vest. I can do it, but I think it would screw with my mind something terrible and I would end up ditching it. And spending $200 on something just to ditch it, and in my city, it is hard to sell things on Craig's List, would feel awful.
Valid points
Went with the North Gym & bought 20lb plates for front and back. Looks like it's a bit shorter than the Wolf Tactical, which I imagine will be better for doing burpees and other dynamic movements. I also think the side load will prove to be beneficial for longevity. Just ordered - looking forward to seeing how it goes!
Nice!!! If you used my affiliate link let me know so I can send you a thank you gift
Update did you like it?
Great video. Since I have ironmaster kettlebells, I went with the iron master vest. It's a love hate relationship with that vest. It brings the pain for sure
That makes perfect sense. If you had to do it over would you go with the same vest
@@NoFate247 I really like the IM kettlebells. So yeah I would
I grabbed a 40lb DSG vest with a gift card 5 years ago, like that I can progressively overload in 2lb increments. Haven't found a need to upgrade yet, but I know what affiliate link to use when I do.
40 lbs is HEAVY!!!
I'm on treadmill trying to type while bouncing. Vest in use right now. 🐐 keep em coming
Nice!!! What's your favorite vest
Is the code still valid for the Wolf Tactical? I tried to apply it didn’t work.
The link works but the code doesn't it seems
Imo the big drawback of a weight "vest" is that it does not cinch around the waist/abdomen. For rucking over distance with heavier weights, this puts all the strain on the shoulders and it's a pain, literally. I got the highest priced Kensui vest, with extra padding, but now for rucking I just use a hard frame day backpack with weight plates wrapped inside towels.
I also have the basic Cap 20 lb weight vest (Walmart), which does cinch around the waist, and for the price I recommend it. Drawbacks are: hard to change weights (little sand baggies) so I just leave it at 20 lbs, and gets gross if sweat reaches the sand baggies. You gotta take all baggies out to wash the vest. But easy to put on and take off, and does not shift that much.
Lastly, if you want to do weighted pull ups and dips, just use a lashing/loading strap or the strap from your rings set to hang weights from your waist.
I don't I don't change the weighted vest weight often...usually set it once and then off to the races. So you change it often?
@@NoFate247 same
Hello! Is your coupon code not valid anymore? Doesn’t seem to work! Thx! 👋🤩
@@albertyoung4628 think they changed their system. Check the link in the description and see if their website or Amazon is cheaper
Almost pulled the trigger on a 5.11 but your review pushed me to the Wolf Tactical 🤟
Your coupon code is great 👍 thank you!

Checking in!!!! Thanks NoFate for the great info!!!
Appreciate you being here, how you been?!
@@NoFate247 Doing great!!!! Making progress. I'm just a beginner, but I'm really working on leg strength and overall body strength with a strong core. I appreciate all your info!!!
What are your thoughts on the Ironmaster offering?
At first glance (haven't used it) I don't see it having a good fit or feel. Might be fine for push ups and pull ups but I wouldn't want to run in it
@@NoFate247Those seem to be my thoughts looking at it as well. It looks like a decent option for strength training, especially if you’re already in the Ironmaster dumbbell ecosystem, but I would definitely reach for something else for cardio.
Looking to purchase a weighted vest, hopefully this week if I can decide on one. I have been looking at North Gym, Wolf Tactical, Tribe WOD, and a couple others. I am leaning towards the Tribe WOD but not sure how compact it is, have only seen reviews by giant men who are 6'4" and I am only 5'10". I want something fairly low profile for agility work and calisthenics. The Tribe WOD seems to be almost a clone of the 5.11 but way cheaper. I was also looking to add CATI curved plates. Do you have any experience with this vest and/or plates? Thanks.
Afraid not. The cati curved plates were some of the first to come out but I think they are all thy same now. I think the tribal wod is just a 511 copy as you mentioned
Thanks for the review, how tall are you ? I'm 5' 2'' and not sure if the Wolf tactical would be too long for me to use comfortably. Perhaps North Gym is the better option.
6'1. I think they would both work fine but if you are only doing crossfit style exercises then go with the north gym
Great for walking with the dog!
Do you use yours?
Thanks! Trying out this Thanks button I've never noticed before...THANKS!!!💪
MY GUY!!! Thank you so so much!!
I have the bowflex adjustable dumbbells and I think those plates are thin enough to fit in that budget vest you mentioned 🤔🤔🤔
Most likely!
Nice video! I like the kensui ez vest, although I don't have it and it's out of my budget. I never knew that weight vest can have curved plates, and good points to call out.
The curved plates are new in terms of most companies selling them but they definitely make a difference
Your discount code doesn't work at Wolf.
They must have ended it, but the link will still help out the channel and you should be able to grab a discount code on the site. Check Amazon too, sometimes they are cheaper on amazon
I wonder if doing a slam ball workout in one would be beneficial. Which would you recommend?
I tend to lean towards wolf tactical
@@NoFate247 thanks, I'll look at that.

Appreciate that!!! Thanks for watching 💪
I haven’t even made it through 2 min of the video…
Do you seriously have a Hawaiian shirt print weight vest???? 😅😅😅
Absolutely! Didn't everyone 😂
That Wolf vest is a copy of the 5.11 TacTec. Have you used the 5.11 Trainer Vest yet?
I used a 5.11 years ago. The wolf and tactec are similiar, both made overseas, but the price points are miles apart.
5.11 Trainer Vest is a different design than the TacTec. You should check it out.@@NoFate247

The Crossfit games have switched to the Rogue vest and have gotten fantastic reviews from the top performers.

@NoFate247 the plate carrier is made in the USA including using USA velcro straps. They also supply these to the armed forces. And only $135 and qualifies for free shipping if you buy 3 ships free items.

Do you do an electrolyte?
Yeah I love electrolyte drinks
Which is your favorite was that an episode? I had a sample of lint I liked it a lot but it’s too expensive
@easterneuropeantracksuit3312 made a few videos on it. Lmnt is good but I like nutrabio's intra workout. It's for a lot of stuff plus electrolyte. If you just want electrolytes propel is OK. Key nutrients makes a great electrolyte powder.
