- In this video I carry out some of the safety checks on my viper v10 prior to taking it to Elvington runway in Yorkshire UK to attempt to break the current Guinness world record for riding a motorcycle two up (currently 181.426 mph)
My passenger was TV personality and friend Henry Cole, and it was filmed for an episode of the Motorbike Show, the whole footage from Elvington can be seen in series 12 episode 5 on ITVx catchup. Thank you to Henry Cole for being a great sport going on the back of the Viper and for letting me use some of the Elvington footage in my video, Trevor Duckworth and his Straightliners team for putting on the UKITA records week at Elvington and Becci Ellis Photography for the photos and advise
hope you enjoy it as much as we did

You Sir...... Are a National Treasure. Keep on keeping on.
Allen is a super talented fabricator, mechanic, innovator etc..WTF makes him a so called "National Treasure"? That has to be the most overused cliche on the internet along with "underrated"
What nation is he a treasure of? Did he prevent a World War, cure cancer? STFU. He builds cool motorcycles.
I watch from the US. He's a world treasure.
@@townsend7 Amennn !!! ... and i watch from Slovenia . And that pigeon is a Sign of God's Presence. Peace with you from old Eu.
Agreed 👍👍👍👍
@@kopronkowell god is everywhere on the uk then 😂😂
Totally amazing design and fabrications Mr Millyard!
Design, engineering and fabrication . . .
This is why we love Allen. He's as proud of breaking a world record as he is doing a bit of bike cleaning, and capturing a video of a hedgehog!
Couldn't agree more!
Hedgehog was a nice touch,
Over 200mph…..not only possessed of remarkable engineering skills but also substantial testicular fortitude. Respect.
The man, the myth, the legend..
Even tyre choice shows Mr Millyard`s attention to detail
With a bike that is faster than 180 mph tires are pretty important...
I noticed that as well , probably used his Swiss army knife to whittle the viper logo into the side of the tyre .😉
Oh yeah, I'm sure they are, but as a "National Treasure" I'm sure he's aware.
@@anthonycarty9433 lol. Avons come like that Cobras and all.
Yes I was wondering who sells tyres capable of that weight and speed not a standard weight or speed rating.
Congratulations Allen & Henry.
Love and respect to you both.
I was moved to tears by your land speed record video. Your're an incredibly inspiring engineer and motorcycle enthusiast. Your skills and attitude are second to none. I'm pleased you were able to achieve the record safely because I'm sure your V10 motorcycle had more to give. It was brave of Henry and the trust he has in you.
It's your patience, attitude and friendship with Henry that makes the land speed record most rewarding. You deserve every success Allen. You've created some fantastic motorcycles and your videoes are compelling to watch because of your ingenuity ,care and attention to detail.
I'm pleased for both you and Henry.
Regards Gary.
Thank you Gary 🙂
I can see how such a mild mannered, and fastidious guy can be brilliant engineer, but not quite how they can also be such a hard-core speed nut.😮
Glad you're around Allen, and YT allows you to share your genius and passions with us. Thanks!
Congratulations Allen, greetings from the States where we much admire the humble, understated, exploits of the doyen of eccentric Englishmen!
The man is a genius and so modest.
I think Henry is a very brave man to sit on the back. Easy to get thrown off the back with all that power and speed. Well done both of you.
Allan you are a engineering genius and the biker community could not be prouder ,well done mate and we'll done to Henry that takes some balls mate😊
If Allen Millyard built aeroplanes or even spacecraft I would board with confidence.🚀
The best thing I’ve watched for a long time. Just engineering brilliance with a mix of humility. No tee shirts, no yee haa!, no give aways. Congratulations on the records. Just getting into the power band at the checkered flag 😂
no ugga-dugga either. Love it
If you want engineering brilliance, check out his other projects. This guy literally takes hacksaws to engines to add extra cylinders.
@@BlueXonar I’ve been watching Alan for years.
@@andrewstoffel1170 ah great! Sorry I thought this might have been a random recommended video.
Fantastic achievement. More so because you made that bike Allen. Well done!
You are an amazing man, Mr. Millyard, and that is an understatement.
Excellent video Sir.
As a person who has worked in broadcasting I can’t believe how smooth the shots transition, camera position, and recording been done. Always pleasure to watching your master class video.
thankyou
Engine- check; brakes- check; swingarm- check; wheels- check; sanity- errrr... Keep up the amazing Alan 🙂
Sanity Check? XXXX
*Allen.
Balls - check.
@@leeandjancruise Great big steel ones, I'm surprised the bike can carry the weight of em 🤣
Er…….pigeon, check!! Everything, but everything Allen is a Millyard special!
Not a old boy tinkering around with old bikes, but chasing records on a monster bike 🤩
I must say it feels heavier than it did 14 years ago 😊
Alan The man who thanks everyone else.. but never Big's himself up! What an absolute legend! ;0)
Congratulations to you both. Allen Millyard and Henry Cole. Two great bikers and good friends.
Have never met anyone who is into motorbikes who don't think Henry cole a complete knob! He is no real motorcyclist! All me mates find him terribly annoying and boring with his monotonic voice. Saw him at a bike show last year, no one wanted to talk to him!
Phenomenal man, phenomenal machine. Absolutely incredible.
i've been watching your vids since i was 15, i'm now 21 you're a role model of the ages mate.
Thanks I’m glad you like them
and thankyou for watching
@@berksofberkshire3519is it? Or am I missing a reference to the video?
Absolutely BRILLIANT! As a retired motorcycle mechanic/rider & commercial photographer I want to commend you on the technical skills and care applied to the magnificent machine you created and brought to life as well as the very professional video documenting your painstaking efforts and success! Warm & sincere congratulations from across the pond!
This is such a work of art. That front wheel/brake assembly is genius.
Just amazing craftsmanship.... beautiful bike sir!!!
That beast is simply *INSANE!* I love it! Stay safe, Allen!! 👍
What a great record, no, records! Two of them, insane.
All the best Allen and Henry and all involved in making this a reality.
👍💪✌
Can anything be more amazing than what you have achieved Allen!!! Actually there is one thing... YOU!! You will never ever be beaten for the most humble genius ever to live. God Bless You 💙
Congratulations Allen. Remarkable achievement.
Best wishes, Dean.
Nothing left to chance. Meticulous preparation. Such a well deserved world record. May it stand for a long, long time.
Every nut and bolt oozes total quality. I never tire of Allen’s videos. Absolute engineering legend and all round nice guy. 👏 👏
You sir are an absolute genius. I wish I had a small amount of your abilities. Hell of a builder and bike rider. Hope you have many years of success.
Taking my hat of now! That purist dedication and bravery to do something like this is what I can not easily in my mind somehow comprehend? I am speechless now! 😮
How can someone so mild mannered and softly spoken have designed such a beast of a bike??
It's always the quiet ones 😉
Don't ever stop Alan, you bloody legend!!!
What a great ride you built . You are a master at your craft .
A humble man at that .
Proud of you .
Congrats from the U.S.A.
Listening to and watching Allen work on his bikes is always like a meditation. Then there is the juxtaposition of Allen squeezing the berries out of that V10 at Elvington. I swore in amazement. You both have bigger testicles than me! Congrats on the records.
you are a credit to us Brits Alan 👍congrats to you and Henry the brave bloke on the back 👍
I absolutely love your work Mr Millyard! I have so much respect for you in how you operate and work on these amazing machines! Never ever stop being you! Wonderful mate just wonderful!!
That center stand design was amazing, so unique
What a machine, excellent engineering and a excellent video....highly entertaining...thank you.

Congratulations to you and Henry for the World record! Let's hope it stands for a very long time. I'm looking forward to more from you two with the Nemesis.
See above...probably doesn't stands at all...2nd fastest?
Great video on the checks that are needed. .....What a bike. What an achievement. Allen.....we salute you. 🙌🏼
Great video, such a impressive machine everything is so well thought out as well loved the main stand ratchet system.
Brilliant design, amazing engineering and construction, superb attention to detail!
As a kid in the 50s, I recall my late father balancing our prewar car tyres (6.50 x 19) the same way.
Congrats to you both on the records!
What a video. Entertainment on many levels. Allen, your Viper Bike is an absolute masterpiece.
A massive well done to you both, & to you Allen for building one incredible machine 👏👏👌
Even the stand mechanism is such a wonderful piece of lateral thinking. I love all these details! Hearty congratulations on the double World Record, too!
Yes, lateral.
Congratulations Allen, and it’s so great to hear the V10 at full power. It made me think of a Merlin (I can’t count fast enough to hear the difference between 10 and 12 cylinders). Seeing a new AM vid in the inbox is like getting a surprise slice of cake
Great to see you and Henry larking around. The friendship and (especially) the mutual trust between you shines through during your escapades.
One hell of a swingarm.
It would need to be.
One hell of a bike.
An absolute pleasure to watch and listen to you Allen, your humbleness hides a very calculated and executed masterpiece. Congratulations on your world records. An acknowledgement of your skills.
Good to see you again Allan. You are just so damn relaxed about everything. Even after going 183 miles per hour, on such a small stretch ! Very cool man Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿
I just love to see genuinely creative people get recognized.
Congratulations to a person who does not see limits like the rest of us.

Congratulations Alan. You deserve it brother. Keep up the great work man. You're awesome!.
The finest engineer Britain has ever produced and the most humble.
Absolutely Awesome ! Well done Allen and to a brave pillion passenger
You really get a sense of scale for the bike when it is 8 shoulder widths! Well done Allen!
Fascinating as ever Allen - really enjoyed that, I found it a therapeutic watch for some reason!!
Thanks TMF 🙂
Going over 180 on a nakedbike is just nuts. I love it! Allan, youre awesome!

Congratulations on your record. The whole thing is just hard to wrap my head around you’re the man for sure.
Sincere congratulations to both of you and especially to you Allen for building such a two wheeled work of art!
Fabulous achievement. Well done both of you.
Congrats to you both, what an entertaining video Allen, thanks for the effort and your amazing skills!!!
You sir are what makes this country 'great' Britain! Ingenuity and hard work personified. Fantastic video 👌👌👌
That was AWESOME ! Congratulations on your world records Allen ! 🏁🏁🏁
Wow that centre stand makes light work. If you built that it would be useful video. If you designed it, it should be patented as sure a lot of mainstream manufacturers could incorporate this. Excellent work and vids as always
Patents are expensive to maintain and manufacturers always have expensive lawyers making legal workarounds.
Norman Hossack developed a no dive (hub centre steered) front suspension. It was easily made with minimal precision but tuneable for accuracy. Nobody wanted to know (it’s different and bikers don’t like “different”). BMW simply waited for the patent to run out and copied the idea (used on some K bikes). Theirs is heavy and expensive and of course Norman never saw a penny.
@@davidelliott5843 Indeed, apply for a patent and getting it granted is the "easy" and " cheap" part. Enforcing it is where the little man has no chance, good luck suing corporates for infringing your patent.
Congratulations Allen and Henry, fantastic job. Always a pleasure to see your work and achievments.
I have not been on youtube for many months. Now I see Allen broke two world records when I finally tune to your channel Sir. May God bless you Sir. YOU ARE THE MAN !!! Keep up the great work and peace to you Sir too.
You're an inspiration to any engineer, no matter how competent they are.
what a machine Allen!…congrats on record…and i’ll bet , with this bike, you’ve got a few other broken records in there that weren’t sought after and aren’t official yet…incredible engineering and execution!…
Outstanding, yet the pre-race check was super informative too. You are one hell of a designer! And very gutsy as a rider on such a bike, very gutsy indeed!
Propr engineering at it's absolute best. Love your ratchet spanner centre stand. Great job and congratulations on the world record. Keep up the amazing work. Loved every second.
Congratulations Allen! The bike build was amazing, but it must feel pretty cool for it to be a world record holder as well!!!
Well done 🎉
My favorite Mad Scientist 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Congratulations Alan and Henry, what a fantastic bike and achievement
Congratulations to you and Henry on breaking two world records.
Sir I truly appreciate your skills. Wow!! Hearing the exhaust note of a V10 on a motorcycle is just wild. I’m speechless. 😁👍
Awesome!!! Well done guys!!
Loving the videos of how things are made. Some of it looks simple - but that's the beauty of fantastic engineering and years of experience combined with meticulous attention to detail!
Brilliant! Love your work, you're a national institution. Congratulations on the record, shame Ross and Norris didn't see it:)
National Institute of What?
Nice blokes who build nice bikes👍
I never get tired of watching your videos Al, they’re always interesting and informative. Congratulations on thee record 👍😀
I love the way you meticulously inspect and oil the machine before the race. That stand is a genius piece of mechanics. The video that follows along the process is also a wonderful display of videography. Thanks for let us in to your shop and brains.
