i'm on Crete it's gone bonkers here since Covid the Greeks still charging Covid prices and the Prime Minister here blaming the EU for rising prices while on his watch. Fuel is sky high 2.14 litre the most expensive in Europe but the reality is Greece supplies Cyprus with there fuel and it's 40 cents a litre cheaper than Greece you couldn't make it up. So by comparison Spain is still pretty cheap i'm regretting buying in Greece big time.

We shop in Mercadona or Consum - we find Carrefour is a lot more expensive on pretty much all items

Mustard said 3.39, and you stated 3.99 and British goods are expensive since Brexit due to taxes and longer travel times for transport due to extra form filling and cost of fuel rises. And you just gave us Carrefour prices and not Mercadona Prices.

  • @TimC883

I’ll be honest I did the conversion as you went along and most of these prices are even cheaper in Spain than they are here in the United States

😊 I remember when we moved to Spain in 2004, went shopping in carrefour, bought a bottle of “Moët” champagne…… €12!!!

Shopping for food in both those shops is dearer it's better to go with Aldi, Lidl, and stick with their equivalent items , remember olive oil was affected by severe drout conditions is expensive in all countries especially extra virgin oil , also Carrefour give loyalty cards and over 65 cards ,many bogoff' s with coupons for next shopping trip ,the sales of home products are worth a look too.
