- In this video i show you a fantastic trick how you can keep the perfect angle during the sharpening process. I will also explain you why I not only make pushing strokes when i sharpen a serrated blade, but also sideways movements.

Prima Video! Sie haben Genauigkeiten erwähnt auf die ich nie beachtet
hätte. Ich kann immer etwas lernen von ihren Videos. Sehr vielen Dank, Herr Immler!
Das freut mich sehr! Dankeschön für das tolle Feedback!
Great video! Very informative!
I’ve used serrated knives for years and though they may be difficult to resharpen I feel it worth the extended sharp life of the blade. This is especially true when cutting lots of fibrous material like rope and banding materials.
Thank you for your valuable hint!
Excellent tips on getting the correct angle, thank you! I have just three serrated Victorinox blades, and have struggled to keep them as sharp as the straight edge blades. I’m looking forward to your video on that cool angle finder. 👍
Thanks a lot for your comment!!
Very Informative Technique on serrated Blade sharpening
. Thank You
Thanks a lot!
Thank you for uploading this video.
I've got a strong aversion to serrated blade pocket knives for everyday use.
Thank you for your honest feedback!
Thank you very much Felix. This was extremely helpful 😊
That makes me happy!!
Having declared my dissatisfaction with this sharpener last night czcams.com/users/postUgkxDcr-y2Pf6xdnrFHrSP7dl9kpKaCozcSQ I thought about the problem some more. It occurred to me that I might be undoing each attempt at achieving a sharp edge by the repeated attempts. So, I tried to clean up the unsatisfactory result by honing with only positions 3 and 4.Miracle!! A really nicely sharpened chef's knife, more than enough to handle my needs. Admittedly, it did not reach professionally sharpened razor-fineness, but it is now significantly sharper than it was. A bout of breaking down carrots convinced me. So, major apologies to the manufacturer, Amazon, and all happy and potential owners! Follow the directions: don't buy it if you have ceramic blades; and don't overwork your knife blade.
Good idea!
Just stumbled upon this video. As always, i love your down to earth, friendly advice. I will take that approach next time I sharpen my knives! Cheers.
Hello Roy. Thank you very much for your kind comment!!
That was really informative, you're a very clever man! And you also play the homemade alp horn with your father, that is just so wonderful. Thank you for this one, yet another piece of how to make life easier. Cheers!

Great idea, and very simple, all I have to do is make the right size stick for my knife and keep it with my conical sharpener. I love how you used the tool on the back of the knife for holding the angle!
Thanks a lot for your positive feedback!
I have the Rescue and the Soldier models and don't use them much. This information is going to be useful for me. Thanks 👍
Thanks for your positive feedback!
i have avoided serrated blades mostly because of the problem with resharpening them. Now i am looking for an old used blade to try your technique on! Thanks for the very good instruction and another great video.

Thank you, thank you, thank you !! 😃😃
Not a fan of serrated blades, but I've recently updated my kitchen knives to Victorinox 6.7631 "Swiss Classics" and they're awesome for the price!
Thanks a lot for your interesting comment!
@@grovesy333 That's a personal choice, I guess: A plain blade is much more useful to me in my daily life. I mostly use my knives for whittling, stripping wires, pruning, cutting cardboard, opening packages... I only really need a serrated blade in my kitchen.
@@grovesy333 'kay.
@@MetalSonicBricks look out! You just got some facts dropped on you bruh 😂😂😂
@@grovesy333 Serrations saw, a plain blade slices. Serrated knives are excellent for sawing through material such as rope and also retain cutting ability under abuse. However plain blade excels at tasks that require finesse such as carving, whittling and skinning.
Sehr sauber lieber Felix, großartig demonstriert mein Freund! Danke für Deine Tipps! LG Sepp
Danke für das Lob! Ich wünsche Dir ein freaky Weeky :-D
Thank you my friend for saving me significant time
Thanks a lot for your kind comment!
Hallo Felix, vielen Dank! Wieder etwas gelernt. Einen schönen 1. Advent und LG Micha
Danke Danke lieber Micha... das wünsche ich Dir auch!!
My Grandfather taught me to use the light to check the edge of a knife. Glad you are passing that on.
hello Mark. Thank you very much for this wonderful story!
Really looking forward to the angle measuring device.
Thank you!!!😅
Danke für die guten Ideen !
Sehr gerne!
Thanks for teaching ....
You are very welcome!
Спасибо за очень полезный видеоролик ! Очень разумно и креативно! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you! Very useful! 👍
Thank you very much!!
I like your videos. They always show in a good way new things to learn. And even, for those things which I know already, it shows me that I'm on the right way.
I will adapt the trick from this video also to sharpen the kitchen knife (using a helping tool to hold the knife in the right angel)
And: I like that you use simple handworker tools (not many modern unnecessary machines) and sure, I really like your Swiss accent from the Swiss Knife Valley ;)
Always good tips!
Thank you Chris!!
@@FelixImmler in my opinion you tackle some difficult topics and explain them very well. You should be awarded, the least I can do is leave a positive comment! Shine on Felix

Все гениальное,просто!

Thanks for watching!
Good one. I love my Victorinox tomato knife with serrated blade.
Me too...thank you!
I cut down the serreitor on my Trailmaster and made a plain, it turned out super!!!
Yes... i belive!!
Great shot! 😎
Thank you very much!
outstanding job my friend
Thank you very much!!
Great vid bro. People are afraid of serrated. And they say, it's not useful. I have cut a seat belt, on an upside-down car, on fire. Serrated, made a fast job of it. Like you showed. It's not that hard, to sharpen. And don't tell, a boat men. Or a diver, serrated is no-good. Thank you, for your video.
Thanks a lot for your interesting comment!
...und wieder mal fein gemacht!!! Grüsse aus die Niederlande!!!
Vielen Dank Jan!
I like the technique
Thank You 😊
Thank you very much!
Great tips Felix , have a great day , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Thanks a lot for tanking the time and watching my video!!
Thanks for the sharpening Tips. They actually work. Now the couple of serrated, knives, I HAVE ARE as sharp as NEW IF not better.
Thanks a lot for your comment!
Idk why this guy makes me so happy but he does.
Thanks a lot for this wonderful compliment!!
I like your videos felix. Your a natural.watching your videos feels like im visiting you like visiting a friend.
Thanks for this wonderful compliment!
Another great video Felix. I use the Lansky Blade Medic that you showed, for my serrated blades. I have always just held the knife with the serrated edge facing up and tried to match the angle (similar to the technique for field sharpening a straight edge blade). It works ok but I will definitely give your technique a try…it looks like it will give a more consistent result.
Hello George. Good Luck and thanks a lot for your positive feedback!
Danke! Hab grad mein 08 US Army bekommen.Das Video wird mir beim ersten Schärfen sehr nützlich sein.Gruß Thomas
Das freut mich... Danke Thomas!
Big fan sir
Thank you very much!!
Is good video, thanks you
The only serrated blade I have on a SAK is the gutting blade on the Victorinox Hunter (not the Huntsman). Because of the rounded tip, I really like that blade. Very useful.
Thank you for your feedback!!
Cool I will try it
Super! Good luck!
Man! That coniometer was very cool. Nice job, I don't think I'm that specific on my angles, but that's very cool.
Thanks you will make a video about!
👋🔥🤘Hello, Felix - Mr VixMan! Thank's a lot, for a great idea 👍👍👍!!
Thanks a lot for your support!!
I have serrated blades on some kitchen knives, but not on any others that I use regularly. This is an excellent tutorial, easy to understand and follow. Thanks Felix for all you do. Bravo
Serrated blades(small) exist to divide skin from meat on dead animals, not need in every day life if you not a hunter
Thanks a lot for this wonderful feedback!!
