    Dish-washing detergents often have added scent and color. Would it be better to use a pure product like Tincture of Green Soap?

    No need to rinse rug to remove soap?

      You can use a damp towel to absorb the soap. No need to rinse the rug and best not too. If it requires more cleaning, you can take it to a professional rug cleaner in your area.

    How about if it has pee. Will it clean it that way?

      However if it has a strong odor and it's been a while since the accident, then it's best to take the rug to a professional rug cleaner.
