I've tried it roasted whole along a salad in a restaurant, as premade burger patties (together with wheat inside iirc) from a super market, and as pre-made spicy and herbal meat balls (together with quinoa inside IIRC) from some frozen food delivery service. This was all like a decade or so ago though.

But if we can get over our fear of insects + produce them in a sanitary environment, they could potentially change the game for things like a long voyage in space, as an emergency food source etc. People eat things like crayfish, mollusks etc. so I don't really see how it as odd to have certain species of insects. I would never choose an insect meal over a steak, but over starvation it would only make sense
