    I have always been lucky in the fact ,that the few handlebar adjustments I have needed over the years , have been enabled by just rolling the bars forwards or backwards slightly . Nowt like tweaking a bike to better fit your riding comfort ,it’s always worth a few bob & a bit of time & effort involved . Beautiful part of the world ,you’re taking us for a ride in ,who needs to leave the U.K. with roads & scenery like that to saviour & enjoy . 👍

    I hear you’re thinking of getting a dehum. Unless your garage is reasonably air tight you’re pissing in the wind. Humidity will even itself out at any given opportunity - so in effect you would be trying to dehum. the neighbourhood. Yes - it will collect water but the moisture in the garage will not reduce.
    The garage on the day of this current video will be drier because the outside atmosphere has changed.
    A through draft - air in - air out is a good course of action. So vents front and rear do well. These last few days and indeed all this winter have been really wet.
    If you wanted a dry garage then you would insulate it, make it air tight, heat it and use a dehum. - but it’s a garage not a house.
    It’s going to be cold again so you may find a degree of condensation will occur. Remember warm air holds more moisture - increase ambient temperature and relative humidity falls.
    On dry windy days with little cloud let the air run through your garage and dry it out.
    I ran a business for many years dealing with water damage properties for insurance companies - and in particular seriously flooded houses - I had to create a ‘balanced drying regime’ using heat, air movement and dehumidification and if the policyholder opened windows I was wasting my time - why? Because heat would escape, moisture would pass from the outside into the house thereby negating the efficiency of a dehum. I live in a new build and there are plenty of vents front and rear - on balance this is the best thing to keep my garage dry.

    Thanks Dave, I enjoyed the sunny ride over the moors, when I rode down the Pennines last November it was wet, windy and murky most of the way. I still enjoyed the ride though, made the feelings of remoteness and isolation even stronger. Weird how bar risers work both if you're too long or if you're too short for the bike. I'm too short so I put them on my GSA and they made a huge difference to the comfort, back ache and sore wrists fixed instantly. I just need to put some on the Deauville now, the Bullet 500 riding position is already perfect, for me anyway. Neither the ride nor the techy stuff were boring by the way. Cheers, Mick

    Hey up Dave. Isn't it ironic that the best light is usually after a storm or inclement weather 🤗. Right, I'm off to watch the video in full now 👍😁.
    Yep, bars look perfect now 👍. I never run stock tyre pressures as they're chosen by the manufacturer for the average weight of rider for an average range of temperatures. I'm fairly light and our temperatures in the UK are probably a lot cooler than for other markets. I find 2psi less f&r is usually spot on for me too. It can significantly improve comfort whilst having little or no effect on handling.

    Just sending you a message about one of your back vids when you first got to motto guzzi v7 and you were showing us around it, when you were showing us the speedometer features, I noticed that it said it was only averaging out at 26.7mpg I think, that's very low mpg I don't know whether it's improved since then? On the motto guzzi website there is very conflicting fuel statistics, some say 46 mpg , some are 56 mpg and every now and then you get some that say 64 mpg, I can't believe that myself but if you could give us an update what it is averaging out at now may go up a bit more when you have had the first service. I would be grateful if you could let me know, It's just that I was thinking of purchasing one for myself but I'd definitely kicked that into touch if it had very poor mpg, I mean the Yamaha MT10 has got better fuel miles than the guzzi 😂😂 and that's a thirsty brut

The bike has that vague, uncomfortable feel, You've changed nothing, adjusted nothing since your last ride, but you might as well be on a different motorcycle. Hi. Just want to clarify something. I too have a Super Meteor 650 and in the hand book, under the Tech Specs it says Tyre Pressures: Front 41 psi, Rear 36 psi. Both times you mentioned about the tyre pressures you said Front are list at 32 psi which obviously contradicts what is says in my hand book. Is the hand book wrong, a mis-print maybe? I wouldn't have noticed had I not looked this up only last night with a view to checking mine. Cheers. Ps. Lovely ride out, beautiful location and scenary. So jealous.

      The Ceat web site says 32/36 for all Enfield 650 twins but it may have been pre supermeteor

      @@thebingleywheeler Hmm, that's interesting and somewhat confusing. Logically, as the front is the smaller of the two wheels you would expect it to be a higher psi than the rear as that is generally the case with tyres, the smaller the tyre the higher the psi. I think this requires a little more research. Thank you for the reply.

      @thebingleywheeler Hi again. I've been trawling the tinterweb regarding the front tyre pressure. I did find the Ceat site which although it doesn't appear to include the Super Meteor 650, did list the Continental 650 (close enough?), and as you say it lists it as 32psi. I also found this on CZcams:
      czcams.com/video/2BFMeUNGt0Y/video.htmlsi=8LZc0biRCitYcyPc
      Please note the tyre pressure information given at time line 5:25. You will also see that the tyre size is correct, ie 100/90-19. I'm not at all suggesting that your info is incorrect, after all I've found a lot of info confirming the 32psi, I merely want to ensure I have the correct pressure for my own safety. I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers

    What works for you sir. I'm currently running 34psi front and 38psi back plus within the first 500 miles I increased my rear shocks by two notches. One or two up my Super Meteor handles just fine. Now what do they say about great minds 🤣🤣🤣. Safe cruising sir 👍.

    Loving my Super Meteor but I am confused over tyre pressures. When I took delivery I checked the owners manual (page 69) which says 41 front and 32 rear, which in my experience can’t possibly be right. I called my dealer who says they recommend 36 fronnt and 42 rear, which is how I have been running since. Any thoughts?

    • @thebingleywheeler
      @thebingleywheeler  Před 6 měsíci

      36/42 is a generic pressure for bigger bikes though to be fair the SM is 241 Kilos. 41 front seems extreme even for a 19 inch wheel. The 32/36 figure comes from the Ceat web site as the pressures for “all Royal Enfield 650 twins”. It’s a confusing picture!

      Ceat say 32/36 for their tyres on all RE 650 Twins

    • @felixVanDiemen
      @felixVanDiemen Před 5 měsíci

      @@thebingleywheeler The thing is the other RE 650 twins have a very different wheel type (spoked with tube vs cast alloy tubeless) and very different wheel sizes (especially the rear wheel) so I don't think there is any comparison. I also have a Super Meteor Celestial model, and my owners manual and the sticker on the frame says front 41psi, rear 36psi for a solo rider. I don't mean to be argumentative, however I am concerned there could be a safety issue?

    30 - 32 psi is fine on most ,, just as long as the tyre is inflated enough so as it does not flex side to side to affect the handling ,,, this is not gospel expert advice - but when i have taken bikes out with low pressure and the tyres flex it is scary ;; also when tall [ 6' 2'' ] it may be thought that we can reach any bar [ handle ] with ease and comfort ,,, but this is NOT the case as you have explained ,,, everyone is different and have preferences ,, i noticed that eddie came out at the end to do the checking on the bar fit --- not trusting you ;;
