The Risk Management portion is missing some important information. The trailing stop loss is only while an accounts profits are less than the maximum loss limit. For example, a 150k account has a maximum loss limit of $4,500, but once you get the account to $154,500 the trailing stop loss moves to 150k and stays there. If your account is at 159k, as you mentioned in the video, your maximum draw-down on the account is now 9k.
But that is for the XFA, not the combine?
I love Topstep, I’ve been funded since the summer and have taken multiple payouts. They have amazing guest on their channel that have helped me psychologically.
Love to hear that! More feedback I get the better. Want to make sure I'm making good recommendations to my peeps.
Would you recommend the 50k or 150k account?
In topstep can we trade stocks
@@a6b9fu11 it really depends on your trade style but if you’re just starting out than definitely a 50k, and think about doing a practice account if you find yourself resetting a lot
@@classiccliceditz7318 only futures
Thank you for the review - it is very helpful. Please review more prop firms, if you get a chance.
Very good review. I would watch more reviews from your channel.
More than wonderful explanation, thank you and greetings to you from Morocco
You’re welcome from Canada!
nice review Michael
Thanks! That means a lot to me coming from you.
Your comment "they don't know who I am " is wrong, provided you registered as Michael Nauss in your combine and then got funded.
Your points are valid in every instance. I think Topstep is the real deal, but there are a couple of things they could improve.
Have a successful 2024.
The trailing drawdown is End of Day, not intraday, so it's not really bad and the same at most funding companies. Apex's intraday trailing drawdown is where it gets tricky. Doesn't matter if you had a big day one day then a bad day the next while trading with topstep or tradeday, you still have 2000$ of drawdown from the highest closing balance in the 50k account. With an intraday drawdown, if you make say 1k during the day and end the day anywhere under the 1k, you're drawndown is now based on the 1k profit, even though you didn't take it.
Hello Michael, thanks for the review. Do you know if Topstep allows to connect my trading algo (written in python) to their platform API?
I think you might be able to do some autotrading with ninja trader but don’t know for sure.
Mr Nauss! ❤
♥
Hlad i found you. I will research top step further
Thank you! How is the integration with TradingView?
Tradeovate works great with TV from my playing.
Hello. Have you came across any futures prop firms that do allow swing trades?
Sadly no :( or equity. They don’t like us swing traders
Hi Michael, the trailing drawdown, does that stop at any point? E.g. say you made 165k, would your drawdown limit still be $4500 or $15,000?
Seems to be 4500 but that might change after a withdrawal
@@MichaelNauss hmm.. are you sure that's how it works? I thought they got rid of trailing drawdown.. there seems to be no point of making a cushion if the DD limit is still in place.
I just confirmed with support that it stops trailing upwards once you reach $4500 in profits. In this case, 150k account, once you hit 154500, your DD limit is 150,000 anything you make above is fine and it will always stay 150,000. Your video is very confusing and doesn't explain this properly. Are you even funded with TopStep?
Yes, the trailing draw-down does stop. Once you get a 150k Topstep account to $154,500 the trailing stop moves to 150k and stays there and the account can no longer go below 150k or else you will lose the account.
If your account is at 165k the maximum draw-down on the account is 15k, but you still have the daily max loss limit of 3k. If you lose 3k in one day your account is deactivated for the day.
@@xx-rt2hs Thats great news. So it must only be for the tail account
Topstep has been incredible for me..I'm just sorry it took me so long to find them ..I also have never experienced the quality and speed of their support.
Topstep*
It’s been impossible to connect the combine to ninja trader because the setup instructions are old and out of date. Super bad first impression w this company and they feel super scammy.
Imma try out top step today. 🍗🧇
