#Volvo #XC40Recharge - Auta a dopravní prostředky
The most recent OTA software update (2.9) brings several welcome changes. The three most significant are: the estimate remaining distance is now shown in the driver display, beneath the remaining battery percentage; lane-keeping assist can now be toggled on and off with a (formerly unused) button on the steering wheel (previously that could only be done through the centre console); and Apple Maps is now available in the driver display.
Wow! Thx. Gonna get that loaded. My wife said there was a new one. I hadn’t gotten it yet though. Love those, especially the dest SoC on driver console under battery
…downloading….
Great in-depth review! Can't wait for more on the Cadillac Lyriq.
Just took a road trip from SF to SD to SF. My XC40 Recharge was great.
Great video! No music no nonsense! You have the Lyriq and the Volvo which tells me that you can buy whatever the heck you want. You demonstrated CarPlay and pointed out conveniences that I take for granted but also dread losing if GM drops CarPlay. We have a Bolt EUV Premiere and we Love it! It has all the bells and whistles and drives so nicely that when I get back in after testing the Lyriq and the Volvo, the Bolt still feels very good. The only thing I’m looking for is something a little bigger and the Volvo is perfect. You mentioned the safety reputation of the Volvo and this has always been my impression. I’m going to hold on to our CRV Hybrid for several months to see how the 2024 EV’s roll out and test drive as many as I can. You’re video based on ownership is very very helpful. Thanks again for taking the time to do a great job in your video and best of luck to you in the New Year!
Bolt rocks. I have often asked myself why I paid an additional $30k for the LYRIQ when I could of gotten about all the same in a Bolt. ;-}
Gonna do a vid l8tr bout the loss of CarPlay. Thx for watching & glad it helped. Happy New Year.
@@thenetworkarchitectchannel I appreciate you coming back to me that’s one of the great things about watching CZcams videos and being able to get first hand advice and honest opinions. You are right, the Bolt Rocks and I have a single payment lease that goes for another two years. I drive it every day and I’m like that guy in the new car commercial who offers to ‘go get it’ because I just love driving the car so much. We drive the CRV to Charlotte, about 100 miles away and have yet to drive the Bolt. I would love to try the Bolt and just plug in when we got to the Hyatt. As charging stations become more available the so called range anxiety will be less and less of an issue. I really enjoyed the Volvo for its size and comfort. Since we are trying to narrow down to one car I would choose the larger one. The Lyriq was too big but I’m looking forward to the Cadillac Optiq, which is smaller but doesn’t come out until 2025. So many things to consider… but mainly Thanks again for your videos and your personal interest. Have a Happy!!!
Thanks for the review. My wife an I both owned two Volvos and they are very nice cars. They we’re not electric. Your Volvo is nice. Thanks for sharing.
That rear auto brake scared the heck out of me when I put a bike rack in the tow hitch receiver. The brakes bit so hard I thought I had hit a brick wall when backing up. I learned pretty quickly hot to turn that feature off when having the bike rack on
Right?
I've had mine in UK for 8 months. One real big positive is removing the rear load cover - turn it over and it stores neatly under the folding load floor cover. I kept banging my head on it ..and worse in the C40. So, it stays with the car and not forgotten in my garage
Thanks for the review. I have the ICE version and enjoy it very much. Thinking of going EV but my wife doesn't like the back up camera on the XC40, which I must agree is a little harder to view than our MDX. But appreciate your owner insight on it. Would love to hear you compare it with other vehicles you've tried/owned.
Maybe wait for EC30. It has a bigger screen so maybe back up cam will be better too
Thx for the video, i drive a xc40 recharge and do everything with voicecontrol, also the ventilator😉
Ventilator?
@@thenetworkarchitectchannel Sorry,fan
Good Review. Very nice car with good features, just priced a bit high than the competition.
Thanks! It is a hobby I enjoy.
I had heard more then once the cost is inflated, but when looking at the Mach-E, Model Y, Ionic-5, EV-6 and even the ID.4, I do not see what is being referred to. I paid ~$55k for my XC40. There are trim levels on each of the above that cost higher then what I paid. I think a base model XC40 with a single motor (when they come out later this year) to be a great value for the quality of car and the amount of space.
Thanks for the detailed review I really appreciate hearing the experience of an actual owner. What made you choose this over the Ioniq 5? It’s similar enough that I’m guessing you considered it.
Nothing. I wanted the Ionic 5. My wife made the decision. In retrospect, I am confident in saying I prefer it to the five. Thx for the nice comment & watching the channel.
@@thenetworkarchitectchannelI recently test drove the ioniq 5 and volvo back to back... I've been wanting an ioniq 5 since they first released. I came away preferring the Volvo. A lot of that was interior and seat comfort. But the screen UI is way ahead on the Volvo where the Hyundai felt busy and gimmicky in comparison. The interior space in the Hyundai is impressive though.
+5 credibility to the Linux guy! I just bought a brand new XC40 Recharge in Portugal and can´t wait to drive it. As an American citizen newly emigrated to Portugal, I was quite surprised to find this delay for "paperwork" before I get to take possession of the car. I appreciate your detailed comments on this car!
Enjoy. She is a great vehicle. I’m taking mine out on a glamping overnight tonight. Luv it to death.
now the Chinese product is good ??? Volvo or Polestar ( Geely ) today is not more than Chinese junk , all the parts ( MADE IN CHINA ) , broke one after other , dont buy Volvo , buy Chinese car at half price and same quality because Volvo is made by Geely , i have 2022 electric Volvo change battery under waranty new in the box ( MADE IN CHINA ) and now the electric motor is noisy new in the box ( MADE IN CHINA ) i pay for Volvo and i get a Chinese junk

thank you so much for this review. I wonder about the driver’s seat position and head rest. I am close to purchasing an XC 40 2024, but I am concerned about the forward headrest. Thoughts?
I have never been uncomfortable while driving. It may look too forward, but in practice it is not. I recommend taking one for a test drive
7:03 that’s portrait orientation, not landscape.
MIs spoke there for sure…. CZcams one takes are hard to master. Gotta add screen blerbs for MIs speaks. Thx 4 chiming in.
Beware the steering column vibration above 70 MPH.- I have it and MANY have it.
That is not something I can report occurring in mine. However, after getting a ticket a few years back, I drive right lane and close to the speed limit now, so above 70 is a rare thing for me. Thx for the comment & watching.

I too had similar concerns. However, the XC40 is assembled in Belgium, so there is a difference there. For us, it has been a reliable vehicle. Wish you well & thx for watching and sharing your thoughts.
