I have been studies music in different solfege syllables it's: Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Si and I"m confused with American solfege syllables. Could you explain to me how to "match" them, please?

    • @LaraMarkowitzMusic

      Si = B

      @LaraMarkowitzMusic  Pƙed rokem

      Glad you enjoyed the video Rogeh! For D I'd suggest using 2 rather than 3 fingers. Try using your index finger on strings 3 and 4, and your middle finger on the 2nd string. Hopefully this is more comfortable as you don't have to squeeze in your ring finger. Give it a try and let me know what you think 😊

    • @rogerarctic
      @rogerarctic Pƙed rokem

      Thanks for your help! I guess it needs practice. I found a chords sheet online, but the D7 chord and a few others were played differently. I'm kinda confused.

    • @LaraMarkowitzMusic
      @LaraMarkowitzMusic  Pƙed rokem

      @@rogerarctic The D7 that I'm using in this video is the Hawaiian version of D7. It's easier to play than standard D7 as you only have to fret 2 strings instead of 4. There are multiple chord shapes for each chord in different positions along the fretboard. It's not necessary to learn them all but they can come in handy.

      That's wonderful that you've learned the chords in a day! Try practicing the strumming at a slower tempo at first. With repetition through practice your right hand will learn the rhythm and then you'll be able to bring it up to speed. I know it can seem daunting to put it all together...try to be patient with it and you'll get there!
