Have you giving any thought of wallpaper, Not your normal kind but a “grass” wallpaper its gorgeous !!! Mine is like a medium dark oatmeal Color 😊 and it’s so easy to hang I did the whole east wing wall in it. Also in my walk in pantry I use antique tins, So if I have crackers I have a antique tin. Also I use large or medium mason jars But my pantry is way smaller then yours,
Another thing I did was to stretch an antique quilt that my great Nona brought from Ireland and its behind our bed❤ 0:03 😊

For now get plants, get some throws and throw pillows, you can get a couch cover too, but don't rush decorating or you will end up changing it later, everything will all come together in time.

But only some people have this warmth and joy in them, that they are able to bring two families together in such a way as you have succeeded. A section that show cases the tv, but also some shelves where you can hide away all the electronics and add some decor. You could make it a fun color so you don’t have to paint the whole wall. Yes, there is nothing more interesting than when you are visiting a friend, everyone sees you showering behind the glass, because it is aesthetically more satisfying. The curtain could protect me from view, it's not very aesthetic. 😂
Christina, I am old enough to be your mother and I have such love for you and respect for the woman you have become. Your enthusiastic joy for life and appreciation for all the blessings in your life are an inspiration to those of us who have had the opportunity to follow you on your journey. I am so happy for you and your family to be able to build a beautiful forever home. You have done such an amazing job in designing and choosing all the accents that reflect your lifestyle and taste. I have had seven homes over the years: custom built, total renovations, and even coming in halfway during a home build. Every home has its own personality, lighting, and layout. I am glad you are taking your time to make final decorating choices; you will get the “feel” for how you want your space to look and function. You did ask about your great room wall. A suggestion would be to paint the entire wall to keep the eye flowing open to the beautiful entry, versus stopping at the hallway opening; could look like an abrupt stop to the eye. You could go with one of the shades in your beautiful brick dining room arch. That color could create an open visual flow of your great room, dining room, and entry. Your light couches would be fine. Built-in open bookcases/shelving on both sides of the tv wall (either stained or painted lighter or darker than the painted long wall into the entry) could be a nice wall space utilization and focal point in that room. Your beautiful antique pipe on a stand and compass etc could be showcased, along with books, photos, etc., so beautifully on the bookcases/shelves. Your water carrier might be able to be hung on the wall, by the breakfast room door, behind where you were standing in the video. That might look nice close to your kitchen. The washboard will be perfect in your laundry room. You may be able to find a “rug beater” in an antique shop to hang in there too. Can you tell I like to showcase all my antiques, as well ? Just suggestions. These suggestions may give you even better ideas ! Most importantly, please enjoy decorating your house YOUR way; it will be a beautiful reflection of you, your family, and the life you love. May your home always be blessed with Light and Love !

Congratulations!!! What a wonderful inspiration. My mom died when I was 24. I thought I had everything together living on my own then that happened and everything fell apart. Ended up reuniting with an old flame at 29 and now him and I are moving out into our first apartment together at 32 and 37. It’s never too late to make your dreams come true.

Paint the whole wall, don’t stop at door! There is a beautiful color … Benjamin Moore, historical color, Grant Beige. Try it, or something similar! You can’t go wrong!!!❤ The color changes color in light and dark, but looks really good! Grab a few fun pillows with print, throw blankets! Perfect! Also, I believe the area rug should be larger, it will make a huge, huge difference! Edges of furniture should touch rug and don’t be afraid to pull furniture off of hugging the walls! ❤

In 2017 we bought our new house on Ireland's West Coast, a 9 hour round trip from where we used to live , and we love it.
My husband and I did 95% of all the work ourselves. Our house was 40 years empty and 130 years old.
New EVERYTHING was needed .
A neighbour said something that really resonated, he said " Take your time and give yourselves 5 years grace to see it all coming together" and he was SOOOO right.
