  • Thanks for stopping by, in today's video I am demonstrating how to apply the Koch Chemie S0.01 Hartwachs BMP which is a solvent-based finishing wax. This is a sprayable wax that can be applied with the Green Sealing Pad on a DA Polisher or by hand with a foam pad or microfiber applicator. Is this a "primer" wax so to speak? Primer meaning, can I go over this wax with a different wax a week later? You said that it's a solvent based wax. I guess that would be similar to the old style cleaner waxes you could get at pep boys. They did something similar using chemical technology which "cleaned" the paint. The wax (either in a bottle as a cream or in a tin of wax) had a strong solvent smell. I always laughed when people said they were "layering" their wax by putting on 10 coats or something like that, not realizing that every time they were using there cleaner wax. it was taking off the coat they just applied previously. I was just wondering. I was thinking about buying this one. If I can get a month out of it, that's all I really need. Truth be told, I have a 370Z that pretty much sits in the garage as of late. It's ten years old and only has 20,000 miles on it. If I use this wax, it would probably have plenty enough staying power and protection since I would just be using it as a drying aide. I heard from another detailer that used it that the solvent based formula was good at dissolving any left over smudges or light tar or something like that on the rocker/lower panels. But again, you wouldn't be able to use any other wax because this dissolves any wax previously applied when being applied to the vehicle. It limits the ability to test out or explore other waxes/sealants/coatings.

How long does it take to apply?
can i, after its application, in the next washes I use other products from above? P&s beam maker or meguiars detailer spray?

The gloss is amazing. However, the same cannot be said on the longevity

Hello to apply with hand it's better using a microfiber or a foam pad? Always by hand apply, circular mouvement or linear cross way? Thanks for reply.

I wonder if this product is superior to the Opti-Coat Hyper-seal in terms of longevity (would be applied to a Pro+ SIC coating) ? I've noticed most SIO2 products don't last very long.

Well since it is a wax I’m not sure how long it would last on top of a coated vehicle. Most coated cars don’t allow any sort of protection to really stick to it, even Si02 products. It could serve as a good topper to add more glow to your coating but I don’t think anything lasts too long on coatings

Couldn’t you just use a panel wipe ?
    Then wax ?

Yes you could however that would be using two products, where this kind of combines it into one step. All personal preference tho
