I had my gallbladder removed in September of 2019 and I had some gallstones and I think I had 4 black gallstones and I had my gallbladder removal through laparoscopic surgery. I went to an urgent care center and then went to a hospital and admitted and had surgery that day and the next day I went home. I got surgical glue to close me up. I had pain and it took a while to fully recover. I am doing better.

Dr. Taylor, How long does it take a fall sone to form generally ? I had an MRI about 6 months ago of pancreas and general area but nothing was mentioned about gall stones on my report. But now I am having mild GB symptoms occasionally. Is there anything you can do to keep from getting worse and having to have surgery? I haven’t seen my Gastro dr about it yet or had an ultra sound etc. The GB is an important organ that does play an important part in digestion, though you can live without it , it is better to keep it if you can. Any suggestions for me to try to help make my GB healthy, if it is indeed the problem?

I click on this to see if there is more amplifing information I can use, but just the same info I got from my surgeon. They both forget to state that another cause is high cholesterol. Also, if removed, the patient would need to change their eating habits because the GI can no longer break down the food as efficiently as before when consumed. In a few years, the patient will begin getting irritable gastrointestinal issues and other problems. But, the patient will also need to take bile salt (replacing gull badder bile) before each meal to break down food and allow the extraction of the nutrients to be processed throughout the body. My surgeon didn't explain this to me like most gall badder removals. Most likely, they are taught this. I found out 3 years after my gall badder was removed by doing some research about the gall badder and side effects. I was at the beginning stages of having intestinal issues until I started taking bile salt. I found that many OTC and other products of bile salt were not effective. I found a Dr Berg online and ordered from his website, and I have not had a problem since. Many Dr's, including my primary, colonologist, and pharmacy, didn't know this information. Good luck and stay healthy. It seems today's Dr's are not up to date on latest studies 😕

What’s the best preparation someone could do a week before surgery? My mother will be having this surgery in a week and she’s 48 so I want her surgery to go smooth.
    Any response would be great,
    Thank you.

Try digestive enzymes and ox bile before every meal and you'll be fine. And stay away from over the counter medications like Tylenol and ibuprofen is not good for you. The gallbladder probably wasn't even your problem in the beginning but doctors not going to tell you that because all they see is a dollar sign. Drinking alcohol can also be the cause of your issue so stop doing anything you were doing to cause your attacks before you removed the gallbladder and in the meanwhile take the supplements I mentioned in this comment. I pray this works for you 🙏🏽

You should try digestive enzymes and ox bile before you get the surgery. Please do this first before you let them remove your gallbladder. The doctors only see a dollar sign so they not going to tell you this. I have mines removed and I'm not regretting it but I wish I would have known about ox bile and digestive enzymes before I made that decision because with the gallbladder being removed you're still going to have the same problems. You take that right before you eat a meal and you'll be perfectly fine

@@camerongudgell2452 Azzhole so did I and continued to have the same attacks I had before surgery until I tried ox bile and digestive enzymes. I gave my opinion to HER. Maybe you should try it before knocking it. It's good for digesting fats with or without a gallbladder. It's also good for your skin and hair especially if your skin been looking unhealthy due to gallbladder issues. Thank me later
