I just had this surgery, and this is THE BEST video I found online, which explained the procedure and risks so well. Mine went well, but not much was explained beforehand because I was an urgent ER admission. So, thank you. Well done video.
I have seen dozens of CZcams Videos on both the diseases and surgeries (including both animations and ACTUAL surgeries) . . . But this is the ONLY Video that I have seen that LISTS ALL of the Complications and gives Percentages on the Complications and Resultant Actions for those Complications. I am grateful.
I am having this surgery soon and your presentation relieved me of my concerns. I have a great surgeon who will do the procedure and I look forward to having it done.
Thank you Doc. Your explanation is very clear and precise.
Excellent, simplified and yet comprehensive presentation in a way that makes it so much easy for a lay patient to understand
Hello Dr. Reynolds 🙋🏼♀️ thank you so much for your presentation. My gallbladder will be removed today and I just found your video. It is by far the clearest and most informative advise that is available online. It easily provided more information than any of my doctors have offered. ❤️ from 🇨🇦
I have had 4 episode of sharp rib cage pain both front and upper back in past 3 years. This time cold sweats and pain while breathing. No other symptoms. I always felt I needed to do warm compressions so I did. My recent episodes were on mon and tues. Which is very uncommon. I went to doc and the specialist where I had my ultrasound done and found out that there are lots of stones and also gallstones in the liver. Liver enzymes are also high in the blood test. I have not experienced anything else, no vomiting, no diarrhea, no jaundice. I will have to make some very important decisions regarding my gallbladder surgery. I have always been very healthy and I don’t understand why I have gallstones at age 50. I really don’t want to lose any internal organs. I know it will not be a nice experience. But Thanks for the great video. Appreciate it very much. Note: no need for a break ground music.
What are long term health issues of living without a gall bladder ?
As long you eat healthy low fat diet & maintain active lifestyle , you will be fine
Well explained! Thanks for taking the time to do this video.
I was terrified when I heard I needed gallbladder surgery. You relieved my fear. Thank you for your video.
Don't be fearful. I am 77 and had mine out in March. VERY very sore and kind of weak for2- 3 days but could go for a walk on day4. You r young and will do just fine
Thanks doctor for the explanation. I had the the number 2 one had to be in hospital for 10 days with 2drains Cox of the bile leak, on the on day 8 l had a stent put in ercp procedure. This happened in March this year. My stent was removed in July, still recovering, l am one of those unlucky ones but l thank God for being here.
Thank you for helping me to understand. Well done 👏
Thanks for video just had mine removed two days ago. Had no clue what was going on or what was done to me.
Very clearly presented
Thank you doctor for this beautiful insight. So afraid, my gall bladder hurts like crazy. Wish the stones can be removed and you reserve the the gall bladder.
My ERCP was done before my gallbladder was removed and they placed a stent in my bile duct. Couple days later I had my gallbladder removed then a month later I had my stent removed so this is all very interesting. Great video!
really good
Im shocked he didn't talk about sludge in the gallbladder
I am 2 mo's post surgery. I eat different now. I try to limit butter to one teaspoon per meal.. and no more deep fried anything. Thank you for making this clip
My liver is right across my stomach what does it mean
So is it true that we don’t necessarily need the gallbladder if it causes us pain?
What if stones are left behind after surgery
8:10 My liver is right across my stomach what does it mean
Can you just remove The Stones from the gall bladder ?
Can gallbladder pain be on the left side.
Me too I feel pain on both sides
Did you check it out was it gallstones causing the pain
@@giftbugatti2218 the same happens to me. what did you have??
I'm currently having issues with gallbladder, even my back is hurting and because my gallbladder is working normally they won't take it out.so I'm stuck with all this pain, nausea, vomiting. The hida scan was very painful for me but I cant get a doctor to care.
Go to another doctor clinic 😮
@@Peaceful_Medatation that was only doctor that I could go to for that cause of insurance reasons.Thank you though!
Same. My Hida scan said it was emptying at 51% so they won't do anything tillit goes lower. I live in pain daily cause of it and I have utis because my kidneys are struggling too cause of the gallbladder.
Do you have gallstones?
@@cascas7145 they said no gallstones
why the stones in the Gallbladder cannot be removed by making a hole in the Gallbladder and and sew it again?
Stones can be removed with a tube and camera by mouth so you don’t even need to be opened up but once you’ve had gallbladder or pancreas related problems it can happen again and stones can reform so they just take the gallbladder out now I’m due for mine out in 2 weeks and I had cholecysitis and gallstone pancreatitis and biliary colic.
@@sassyh5364 Apparently some of our gallbladders are candy factories of batter (‘sludge’) to make and candy (‘stones’) already made and ready to be squeezed-out on an on-going basis. Once they start or when they continue to be excrete and cause blockage, pain, inflammation . . . The most common practice is to Remove the Organ before larger problems arise.

Good video but the rhythmic "thump, thump" is very distracting and unnecessary
