I feel like Jaime does everything you DON'T want to do when fighting Canelo. Particularly, leaving huge openings after wild strikes.
I can see some nasty counters from Canelo, but can also see Munguia’s output and speed being an issue the other way potentially
@@BoxingLife Naw Canelo has the edge in speed, power, and movement. All Jaime has is height and reach. A fight with GGG would have prepared him better for Canelo.

My opinion is that Munguia is meant to be a tune-up for Benavidez. A tall, spiteful young fighter with pop in his shots who won't run away and is gonna bring the fight.

Canelo is too much of a Coward to ever fight Benavidez. Or anyone but bums. Jaime Mungia is a known weight bully, who Canelo wants to step up two weight classes.
@@moereese5254 what weight class did Munguía step up from? Remember you said two weight classes. If you don’t want to look dumb answer the question. Also if you look at the last 10 opponents from Canelo and then look at say Benavidez or Munguía passed 10 opponents. Who fought better opposition?

Munguia can box. He's more active in the ring than Benavides in my opinion
I like the tune up, he is a taller power puncher meant to get Canelo ready for Benavidez and he is a durable fighter with a large fan base, overall good tactical keep active choice for the big one against Benavidez
Maybe Benavides is thinking he can beat Canelo but it is not easy for him . Even canelos fight with Munguia it will not be easy

I think Freddy's training help Munguia a lot last fight, Jaime did not look stiff as usual, his moves were better, this fight will not be a walk in the Park for Canelo.

Canelo is just a copy of Derevyanchenko from whom Mungia has learned well and can now readily handle and defeat Alvarez. Canelo's punches are telegraphic, especially those of his left. Mungia needs only to be more aggressive and never backpedal as those intimidated by Canelo and became target practice.

sorry but canelo isnt fighting mungia because he thinks its an easy touch as u implied with underestimated. He chose him because he knows mungia will bring it and a real mexican war is what the fans will want and get come fight night. When canelo signed with pbc did anyone think benevidez would be the first one as part of that deal- when have pbc ever delivered the biggest fight first. It feels like people would prefer seeing him not fight until we get that one instead of appreciating how regularly he brings us big events. Sure his last couple years havent been great as far as his own standards, but theyre still better than most other fighters barely fighting once a yr. He'll deliver according to his own schedule and if anything hell be at the disadvantage the older he gets.
Fans wanted Benavidez, yet Canelo keeps running from him lol. Canelo's excuse was that he "doesn't fight Mexicans anymore" yet chose to fight Munguia, a Mexican 😂😂

This breakdown is very thoughtful and makes sense but come fight night all logic can fly out of the window. Some fights play out as expected and some are big surprises. I think the young Lion has a chance against the King of The Ring.

I think this fight is to see how canelo feels against a younger aggressive fighter that likes to go forward and if canelos wins, he'll fight berlanga to let munguia fight Benavides and after that, either munguia beats Benavides and canelo vs Benavides fight dies right there, or Benavides wins and canelo has a good data on how to fight benavides... might sounds stupid but that's what I think!
For Jaime to win,he should fight like Bibol against Canelo.
canelo is already super accurate. basically, whenever canelo throws you can rest assured that canelo will be landing a big bomb on munguia. i don't see how he can take that abuse for 12 rounds.

What happened?
I want to see Munguia vs Benavidez. Because let's be honest, Canelo would eat Benavidez for breakfast and still run 5 miles after.
I see absolutely nothing special in Benavidez. Nothing that could give him an edge against Canelo. Canelo has faced harder hitters with better precision and still won. Benavidez has good fundamentals. But his head movement is severely lacking. Canelo's timing and power will get him swept under the rug in 10 rounds
So why is Canelo still ducking him for the past 3 years and making hypocritical excuses like "i dOn'T fiGhT mExiCanS" despite picking a Mexican as his next fight?

Canelo is born in the year the horse Mongia is born in the year of the rats. This is the year of the dragon rats, friend Canelo, might lose this one. Freddie roach is born in the year rat .
this is a bad match up for mungia and it makes me think Oscar doesnt care about this dude .. unless he thinks its a win-win even if he loses with the idea that if mungia can put up a performance then it gives his cred a boost for future bouts plus the ring experience against elite of the elite.
Canelo picked Munguia because he's literally full of weaknesses that Canelo exploits well. Munguia is an unproven brawler that padded up his record way too long. He has next to no defense, barely any head movement, and he can't fight on the backfoot. Munguia's biggest fights is against a 37 year-old Derevyanchenko (which he struggled against) and a post-Canelo John Ryder. Canelo has more power than Derevy, so if Munguia gets caught with those counter punches like he did with Derevy, it's lights out. Possibly the most one-sided fight I've seen in a while. Canelo by TKO in round 6-7.
EDIT: Just as I said, unanimous decision and a knockdown, too easy for Canelo. But now Canelo fanboys are thinking Munguia is the same fighter as Benavidez lol. Canelo would've fought him 3 years ago if that was the case. No, Benavidez is WAY better and Canelo knows that.
Jaime is tailor made for Canelo to look good, he has no defence and gets rocked by LMW and MW's, Canelo hits WAYYYY harder than anyone hes fought before.
Easy W for Canelo, hell stop him before 8 rounds as Munguia wont go into a shell he'll fight fire with fire
Munguia doesn't bring his lead hand up to his ear ("hold the phone") when he pivots down to his right 95% of the time. If he doesn't correct this huge technical flaw, it will be a quick night for Canelo.
Thanks for the video brother. Tbh Munguia has nothing new to show Canelo to overwhelm him. Canelo will ko him in the typical 9th round or possibly earlier when Munguia starts to brawl.
Tbh In my opinion I think munguia stops him because he’s got a very similar style to canelo and he’s got the height and reach to stop him I think canelo underestimates him and gasses out I’m a canelo fan btw I love canelo and I hope my prediction is wrong I just have a feeling canelo will lose this one we will just wait and see I still think there’s a 40% chance for canelo to get a TKO in round 8 and 9 if canelo manages to be slick and counter him to the point the munguia gases out and then canelo starts applying the pressure and gets the TKO . TBH it can go either way I just think it goes 60% to munguia and 40% to canelo .
EASY WORK FOR CANELO
This kid is Taylor made for Alvarez. And when Alvarez knocks him out cold people are gonna stop talking about how good Canelo is again despite him avoiding David.
People talk about Alvarez patting his record and picking and choosing what he wants to do in his career. But this guy has a more padded record than canelo ever did. He has almost 50 fights and no one knows who he is until recently. And his only step up in his career was Gabrielle Rosado
Derevyachenko and John Ryder are also good wins. It's common for mexican fighters to have long records since they don't really have a developed amateur system like other countries, so they gotta get that experience in profesional boxing. It's pretty much the opposite of Soviet and Cuban school fighters that step up super early in the professional ranks because they already have plenty of experience in the amateurs.
