The Vulgar Display of Power album in my opinion was the greatest heavy metal album period. Dimebag was in his prime shredding guitars like paper and Vinny Paul was pounding those drums like they owed him money. God I miss real metal from really big names like Pantera and Metallica and Megadeth.

RIP - Diamond Dimebag Darrel Abbott & Vincent Abbot
The way Dimebag makes that BC Rich scream, wail, & sing, like no other ! His dive bombs, just sheer brilliance - Thanks for reacting to this, as I'm quite sure I dropped this, along with RISE, during your FUCKING HOSTILE reaction. As RISE is a song that so subtly addresses racism, in that eloquent Pantera fashion. Back in the early 90s, I was working in live sound production, and one of my venues was a club in New Britain CT, and the show was Pantera Vulgar Display Tour,, & I had heard of the first generation of Pantera, before Phil had joined, and it was glam - hairspray kinda music,, but when our crew unloaded the equip, met w/ band & set up, it was an entirely different band & vibe. These guys were graceful, polite, kind, generous, and very down to Earth. They took their music & fans to heart, were not snobbish or arrogant. Vinnie & Dime, especially ! ( Phil, was a lil bit odd, peculiar, for sure- but still grounded and amicable )
They put on an amazing show, helped direct security to aggressors in the mosh pit, as well as injured fans, and were 100 % energy. They also shared with us, some of the best party 💨 favors after the show. It was the thrill of a lifetime, and having met quite a few celebs, across music, movies, sports, and politics, these guys were some of the nicest I have ever encountered. It's so unfortunate, to have lost both the brothers & founding members. Thankfully, their music will live on, and to see new generations, experience it, is also very rewarding. ✌️

( I sure AF didn't have a cell phone / camera phone in '92 - but I was able to find an image of the guitar , although, he used 3 guitars during the show, 1 being a hollow body semi acoustic, and during sound check, and the first part of show was this BC Rich model, which looks as if it may only be prototype, as BCRich website isn't showing much as far as production ... But, for Domination, Rise, Cemetery Gates, Heresy, New Level, & Walk, this body, w/ red trim - (I was only monitor engineer // his roadies / guitar techs tuned him up,, we were not to touch any non audio equip - or non house PA / only the bands wires -- but I did find an image - prolly a rare deal, if only prototypes exist, and never went into production ?

    👤 Pantera...
    Saw "Vulgar display of power"..
    In 1997..Portland Maine..
    White Zombie was on first..
    It was wild..
I had a "fake" eardrum in my left ear..
And a earplug in the other, because..
That's the only one I could hear out of
    But..Dimebag hit a high note..and
blew out the fake ear drum..
Had to go back for several operations
    after that..but..so what.?
I should have plugged it anyway..
    Just because I couldn't hear..I didn't..
And when I plugged my nose..
You could hear me blowing air out
    Of my left ear..
I should have joined the Circus..
It turned out to be a crowd pleaser..
And I impressed at lot of people with
    that stunt.
