    Hook the tool up to the compressor and hit the trigger, then set the regulator to the pressure. You want the pressure to be set to when the tool is actually working. Add some oil into the air line, and you are good to go.

      Thank you for the kind words. I’ve used this compressor a lot. It’s great for a paint gun. I’ve used it tons with nail guns since I got it too. The only setback I see is it’s not very portable friendly when needing to put air in tires. It’s really heavy. And I’m rolling it across the unlevel yard. I’ll be getting a portable air tank soon and keep it filled up with this compressor.

    Thanks for the video - great job! Question: any idea why it keeps popping my breakers? Thanks!

    • @VansWorld
      @VansWorld  Před 2 lety +2

      Sometimes it’s as easy as you may have a week breaker that needs to be replaced. Check the owners manual. It should say what size breaker is required. See if yours is the correct size. One other thing is the size of the wire used in your walls may not be the correct gauged. Causing the wire to get hot and tripping the breaker. Hope this helps. An electrician may be required.

    • @mixter7x7
      @mixter7x7 Před 2 lety

      check the amp rating of the compressor. should be about 15 amps.
      now check the breaker it's running on. a 15- amp breaker WILL NOT run a 15 amp motor especially if that breaker is already powering other loads.
      a 15 amp motor should be on a 20 amp breaker with no other loads.

    • @VansWorld
      @VansWorld  Před 3 lety +2

      One at the compressor is sufficient. Its actually a moisture bowl. You'd be surprised how much water builds up in a compressor

  • @redbaron2448

    • @VansWorld
      @VansWorld  Před 3 lety +1

      So far it’s doing great but I am using a 10 gauge extension cord. A 12 gauge would be sufficient. The 14 gauge cords will mess up a air compressor pretty quick. It can’t carry enough amps to support the compressor. It can cause a compressor to burn up or lock down

      It's been working great I really like it. But it's not very portable when you get a roll of across the ground that's uneven. I haven't used it for air tools yet but I have use my pneumatic spraygun the SP33000 low-volume paint sprayer and it works great for it. I do want to get an impact wrench for removing the wheels off my truck one day real soon

    I have the same air compressor and it doesn't have a power switch. It's just the red lever. It's not even a year old. I'm not getting any power. I've made sure the outlet works. I've made sure it has oil at the middle line. There is no air in the tank. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Hope it's not dead.

      There is a thermal switch on the motor just where the plastic cover ends on the old model however its automatic on the new McGraw. If you use an extension cord or have it plugged into a weak circuit this will often pop to protect the motor and will need to be reset when manual but the automatic overload can and will eventually fail after too many events. This McGraw 20 gallon compressor is a 14 AMP machine so it is really best practice to plug it directly into its own dedicated 20 AMP circuit and if you use an extension cord it has to be less than 50 feet long and preferably 12 gauge with 14 gauge being the minimum. Once any piece of equipment has been run at low voltage though amperage draw goes up to maintain wattage and the more amps the more heat will be generated at the weakest point which on a compressor will often be the overload switch or the contacts in the pressure switch. Anyways you need to follow the path of the power using a voltage meter to verify that power is making it into the pressure switch and then out to the motor. Somebody may have just tripped over the cord damaging either end of it internally in which case there would be no power going into the pressure switch. The switch could be hung up or the contacts burned in which case you can get a replacement Condor pressure switch at reasonable cost from your local Graingers Warehouse. If the power stops at the overload switch (believe it shows as part #15 on the McGraw 20 I set up today) even if HF does not sell them you can get a 14 amp overload switch at Graingers or similar and you can choose to get another automatic one or a manual one with a reset button.
      The red lever on the pressure switch is the power switch.
      Best!

      @@neilfromclearwaterfl81 I have the newer model. Instead of using an extension cord. I plug it directly in the outlet and use a long air hose. It's always worked fine until recently. Can it get too cold?

      @@randomtube8226 If too cold you should hear the motor hum and then shut down on the automatic overload device inside the motor housing. If it gets below freezing in your shop then you probably need to change to 20 or perhaps even a 10 weight compressor oil if we are talking about sub-zero weather. At those temperature though we are risking frozen condensate damaging regulators, pressure switches, condensate traps, etc.
      You really need to get a volt meter out and follow the path of the power. It should only take a few minutes to locate the point of failure following the path of the power.
