  • I use several products in my lawn for my DIY pest control plan, but my staple over the past several years has been Bifen IT. Bifen IT has an active ingredient called Bifenthrin and can treat a long list of bugs and insects including ants, roaches, fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes. Bifen IT is a solid, inexpensive option for the budget conscious DIYer. There is no need to spend hundreds or sometimes thousands of dollars having a company come treat your lawn when you can use the same products they use at a fraction of the cost. #lawninsider #diypestcontrol #bugkiller #insectkiller #texaslawn

    Good morning! Another great video! I have the permethrin, and I also bought the Bifenthrin 7.9% but the one I purchase is called “compare and save” and I read the ingredient labels. It’s comparable to the one that you use it’s less expensive and I’ve used it and I have no bugs.! Thank you again for your insight. I appreciate you. Have an amazing day.!

    Definitely trying bifen later on in the season. Triacizide works at the 2lb/1k (threw it down yesterday) rate but it doesn’t last.

    Bifen has worked wonders for my house and lawn. So much cheaper to do it yourself.

    Because of this video I went ahead fired my pest control company 2 weeks ago and ordered Bifen today. Thanks for the info and the link to get it from. Will that tip work on a Milwaukee backpack sprayer or do I even need it for my sprayer? Thanks and great video!

    Hey Rhett, do you have a link to the nozzle tips you use for the backpack sprayer? I have a Petra but the nozzles that came with don’t really appear to have a great one for a application we want to get down in the soil

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Před rokem

      First off I would make sure teejet spray tips are compatible with Petra sprayers. I don’t think they are without a modification. I do have the link for the nozzle in the description of this video though.

    Do you like to spray early morning or in the evening? If morning should you wait till the lawn is dry and not have dew still on it? TIA

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Před rokem +1

      I sprayed in the evening, but morning should work as well. It would definitely dry quicker that route. Also, if there is some dew on the ground that shouldn’t hurt your application.

    Great video, so happy we do not have pest issues, however 2 questions for you, next week are scalping, when do I put fertilizer on and weed killer, is it true that the scalping will kill the dandelions and crab grass? Thank you

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Před rokem

      Thank you Dani. Scalping won’t kill weeds, but heat will eventually take out the dandelions. Crabgrass on the other hand… it’ll probably be easiest to try and dig out once it’s already established. In my neck of the woods, it’s already a good time for both!

    Hey Rhett, enjoy your channel. Did you end up doing a scalp on your Bermuda? I typically do a spring scalp, but have not done it yet. In the Atlanta area. Using a rotary mower on my Common Bermuda. It is still greening up, but I’ve been cutting about every other day at about a little less than two inches. Started out bagging and got a lot of the old dead growth out of the lawn. I’m thinking about continuing to cut at the current height and when it is mostly green to lower the deck one notch to around 1.5 inches and cutting at that height for the rest of the season. Your thoughts?

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Před rokem

      Sorry for the delayed response Allyn. That plan should work just fine. It will essentially work the same as the scalp whenever you drop the deck like you mentioned at towards the end of your comment.. or at least a HOC reset. I never scalped! Turned out looking nice too.

    Catching up on some of your videos I missed. Quick question… what products do you use (if any) for fungus prevention/treatment?

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Před rokem +1

      I’ve never actually had to do a fungus treatment (knock on wood) but the two products I have in case I do are Azoxy 2SC and Propiconazole.

      @@LawnInsider: thanks man! So if I have little mushrooms sprouting up in lawn and landscaping- those products would be good to help eliminate that I assume?

    • @joncorwin
      @joncorwin Před rokem

      @@dirtyredd8629 Yes, I had same issue and can confirm these fungicides will help treat them. After spraying propiconizole I noticed the mushrooms began dying in 1-2 days 👍
