My favorite part about this band is how different they are. It's nauseating to see endless groups with the same hairstyles and ways of dressing and dancing styles. This group, though... they're all unique. Their sound is unique. It's refreshing and I love it.

I hadn't caught the connection between the fact that the lyrics are obviously from the Mary Wells song "My Guy," except for the fact that they of course spell out Billie Holiday's name, and give the song her name as well. After reading other comments I've read about Billie Holiday's "My Man," which would have been her equivalent.. so to speak. It's kind of like Warpaint is singing the happy lyrics of My Guy, but with a sad meaning hidden behind it... like a woman singing about how much she loves her 'man', yet she's actually being abused by him, which is more like the My Man song. Fascinating stuff.

At risk of being an asshole I must admit this is at least somewhat accurate. But I feel like also pointing out that at least Warpaints music isn't just blatant standard easy-listening pop with no flair, frills or risks. Their music is complex, somtimes strange at times and different, so imo; they're far more admirable than someone like Beiber. Also; as far as I'm aware; they're not owned by a huge corporation.

I love how this has a slow death walk off a plank/to the gallows vibe going with those drums and the somber tone of the lyrics make it all the more pleasant. Perfectly fitting for the title. Oh and the band name.. How could you get anymore epic?
