    This trick can work without a joker in the deck and with 52 cards only. The only difference is to locate the 26th card and not the 28th card and find it’s match, then when you do the reveal, count down the spectator’s number of cards and the match will be the next card always. I think it’s the same effect in the reveal since you will be showing which is the card that we reached after discarding the counted down cards.

    What would you do if the joker is 28th card? It rarely going to happen, but it is important to know.
    Edit: Nevermind, I practiced it a bit, you can move 1 or 2 cards to the top. 1 if the pair is on the bottom 2 if it is on the top. I would need to work on doing more sneakily. Other than that thanks for adding another self-working card trick to my collection. ^.^

  • @Makenz
    @Makenz Před 4 lety +5

    So, what if the 28th card is the joker? Since you only have one... there’s the “jokers are wild” but but I don’t feel like that has the impact.

    • @Jaze1618
      @Jaze1618 Před 4 lety +1

      Just move from the front to the back or vice versa and you'll have shifted the joker to the 27th or 29th place.
      Even better, take out the Joker as if its going to be your prediction instead, note the new 28th card now that the joker was removed, and then also take out its match. Tell the audience that you are deciding between one of the 2 cards for your prediction. Eventually choose the one that's not the joker, then put the joker back on top of the deck and keep the remaining card as your prediction.

    • @egorchik69
      @egorchik69 Před 4 lety

      JeffJade513 you don’t need the joker, you can use a normal 52 card deck, you should look for the 27th card from the bottom and write it down on a piece of paper (or take the exact card from another deck). The trick will work the same way.

    What should i do when 28th card is the single joker ?

  • @picassodilly
    @picassodilly Před 4 lety +1

    How the math works-
    You’re forcing the 27th card from the bottom (you find the 28th, but if your prediction card isn’t below it, you’re moving a card from bottom to top- so it ends up being the 27th from the bottom).
    With the prediction card removed, you have 52 cards left. 25 above the forced card, the forced card, and 26 below the forced card.
    The spectator gets a pile of x cards. Now there’s 52-x cards in your pile. Still 25 cards above it, but now only 26-x cards below it.
    By “milking” your pile until you’ve got a smaller pile than the spectator’s, you’re basically doubling the number of cards below the forced card in your pile.
    So your pile now has 2*(26-x)=52-2x cards below the forced card.
    How many cards does this leave above the forced card in your pile (52-x cards)?
    Well, there’s 52-2x cards below it. Then there’s the forced card, so that leaves 52-x-(52-2x+1)=
    52-x-52+2x-1=
    52-52-1-x+2x=
    x-1 cards above the forced card.
    Which makes the forced card the x’th card from the top of your pile. And x is the size of the spectator’s pile, so there ya’ go.
    MATHEMAGIC!

    • @picassodilly
      @picassodilly Před 4 lety

      Incidentally, you could also do this trick by writing down your prediction instead of using a prediction card and then you don’t need a 53 card deck. Just remember to count the 27th card from the bottom instead of the 28th, and then you don’t have to do any shenanigans with moving a card from the bottom to the top.

    • @picassodilly
      @picassodilly Před 4 lety

      Although, I guess then it’s harder to conceal your counting when you make your prediction.

    • @andymcl92
      @andymcl92 Před 4 lety

      I need to have a better think through it, but the key step seems to be that, after the riffle, there are going to be x cards below the predicted card. After the milking, there are twice as many cards below it (i.e. 2x). Beyond that, I'm not sure yet. But I love it!

  • @fireseeker4him
    @fireseeker4him Před 3 lety

    I took this trick and modified it slightly. I took cards from identical decks, placed them both on the bottom of the deck and shuffled the cards so that those remained on the bottom. Then I had the participant cut the cards and complete the cut so the identical cards were about half way. I followed the same steps as Brian from there, just placing my prediction card as the 28th card. I just thought that since you have to add a card anyway (in his case the Joker), then why not make it an identical card?

  • @Veptis
    @Veptis Před 4 lety

    I thought you would just find the match of whatever is on the bottom post shuffle. Make that your prediction. give any number of cards to the player starting from the top.
    Your match is still at the bottom. and now you make a pile to match their pile. Starting from the top. you have three piles now.
    the one of unequal size gets turned around and you match up.
