    This was helpful cause all the other videos was doing plastic fenders with a heat gun so I had questions about metal fenders.

    Cool,working on a 75 firebird and the rear fender lips on both sides are really bad. This video is perfect instruction for this process. Just don't know if buying this tool for one car is doable. Thanks for the video.👍👍

      Thanks! I’ve got a 70 Firebird and love the body style.
      At under $50 it’s still cheaper than finding a shop to do the work for you.

    Just tried this on my 65. Front went real well. The rears I could not get much roll as they are double (fender and wheel tub. But when I watch your rear fender portion, It loooked like you really put some force on it. (BTW we have similar of not the same roller. Is there anything else I should do? or just keep rolling?

      Yea, I was pulling pretty hard on the rear. Just keep the paint warm and and go a little at a time. It’ll get there - eventually

    What size tires are on the front and back?

      I don’t recall for sure, but I think I remember them being 235/50-17

    Did the fender roller give any problems ?

    • @AllisonCustoms
      @AllisonCustoms  Před 2 lety +2

      No, I’m still using it on other projects. Of course it’s used rarely, but that is kinda the reason to buy an inexpensive version.

    So I just got the same roller and I don’t know what the hell I’m doing wrong! When I screw the rod that is supposed to put more pressure between the roller and fender, moves it farther away from the fender. I can’t put pressure on it

      @AllisonCustoms  Před 2 lety +1

      Odd, I would have to see what you are doing to help. Maybe post a video??

    • @slickrickjones
      @slickrickjones Před 2 lety

      @@AllisonCustoms okay I’ll try. But when I screw in the rod that makes the roller closer to the fender (pressing against fender), it does the opposite and goes the opposite direction.

      Try turning the rod in the opposite direction. Maybe the threads are right hand instead of left hand

    What size tires did you run and did you run spacers for the back clearance?

    • @AllisonCustoms
      @AllisonCustoms  Před rokem +1

      Sorry, but I really don’t remember. I may have mentioned them in one of the videos about suspension or rolling the fenders. Although I do know there were no spacers.
