    I may have not been clear in my description of the “re-center” function (in part because I never use it). When you select re-center, it centers the anchor drag circle ON YOUR BOAT regardless of where your anchor is or where you had previously centered the circle. I hope this clears up any confusion I may have caused in my explanation in the video.

      Wheres the volume adjustment info. That's highly critical.

      I’m not sure if there is a way to adjust the volume on the 1243. Some Garmins have adjustments and others don’t. I’ve never seen one on the 1243 but then I’ve never gone looking for it. I’m not on the boat this week but I will research that this weekend and get back to you.

    Yeah right. If you're sleeping and the alarm beeper volume isn't set high enough you're gonna lose you're boat.

      You’re probably right - I also suppose it can depend on the boat as well - I’ve been on some bigger ones that you would never hear a helm alarm while in bed - but mine wakes me up out of a dead sleep 😉
