Man, I remember shedding like this 10 years back! Played and played until our hand and feet would cramp. Paradiddle, doubles, and quads. This is necessary to play for hrs live.

Extremely entertaining. I'm not trying to be negative, but all 4 of you guys have just destroyed my confidence in my own abilities. But I truly enjoyed it.
Practise
One thing I've learned from practicing is hearing errors in both myself and others. I hear errors in these guys in this clip, except the last guy though, yet these guys are still better than me by my own standards. Im glad you shar we d your thoughts but I'd love to encourage your continued playing. Some people suggest practice. I don't! I suggest perseverance! These guys play like this because they love practice but notice how individual each of them sound. If practice isn't you thing atleast play you. That only happens when you stop worrying about imagined competition and start enjoying your time when playing. Notice in the comments noone is suggesting there was a clear winner from this drum exchange. The drummers in the comments are commenting on the exchanges and the styles. It's normal to feel inferior as a musician. Miles Davis held himself to higher standards not only the guys hired, and he is a guy to study historically as he hired guys no other jazz musician would because of w snobbery that Miles didn't have but his peers in jazz did. As for you, you only exsist on the drums if it's you on the drums. Let that be motive enough to keep playing. If you stop then you won't be an option for a band nor a performance for some audience. This video was filmed in Berkeley practice rooms, I'm in Europe and Berkeley practice rooms means nothing here. You still have space and opportunity, just as long as you continue playing. agreed.. its been a good 12 years since that video came out.. Eric is in a better place in his life, touring with an Italian artist and having a blast.. hes blessed and . happy and im glad it worked out for him.
