- Today, we cut a slit in our galley floor to bring the aluminum plate down to the engine room so it can get welded. Afterward, we fit it up to the old tank and start putting it together.

I hope a lot of folks see these videos. They really show how versatile and self sufficient a commercial fisherman needs to be. Especially in your location
You guy’s are absolutely incredible! Go team EIS, she’s gettin’ there now!😊
That welding looks real good to me and i have been welding for years. You have many talents and and a pro at them all, you should be proud of your achievements. Thanks for the video 👍
Appreciate it, Dean!
Great video guys. Thank you for taking care of the EI. We are all anxious to see her set sail on her first fishing trip.
Absolutely, Phil! Getting close now!
No, thank you and your family for letting us watch you guys work so hard trying to make a living in the fishing industry. Fantastic job on the fuel tanks🇺🇸
I've been waiting for this project. Len, You have a great grasp of whats up. I've worked in a fab shop for over 20 years. EVERYTHING you said explaining the differences between MIG/TIG are spot on. I know guys that can MIG tanks on a bench. As you stated, with a pulse rig. They still would have a patch or two over their welds. Doing it in your environment would be a challenge for even the Pro's. GREAT Job!!!
Everything is lookin great I’m getting excited for fishing lol stay safe my friends ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Doing a grate job on the new boat mat and family looking great
You could put a large hatch in between those stringers that bolts into place. That would give you great future access if needed.
Great work again Gents!
Your problem solving abilities are off the chart fantastic!! I'm not just saying that cause I'm a big fan... As an Occupational Therapist I spent many Years assessing people's problem solving skills. I even worked in research and developed tools to assess peoples problem solving skills... If I'd watched you guys back then I would have had to create another whole level up!!
Your chan. brings back memories of 50 years ago in AK. Thanks ❤
Very good
busy bees what are you guys going to do once you get caught up with the new boat ? Be safe take care make momma happy see ya.
I’d put tape on the underside and fill slice with a strong construction glue it comes in a calk tube PL400 is a good glue it’s sandable
Just noticed in your entro and closing the Fish Tale and new boat are right about in the same spot where the FV Jaguar(now the Walter N.) Layed on the bottom after the 64 tidal wave. I helped repair the hull where it hit the buoy which caused the sinking before Fred and Ruthie Breckan towed it to Seattle for rebuilding for a memorial for Ruthies son Walt Nestel who was killed in a rock crusher accident on Hillside st in the late 60's. Walt had bought that salvage rights and was attempting to raise it when he was killed.
FYI Harbor Freight has some very reasonable welding blankets. Might have been Amazon but anyway I got a couple a few years ago. Well worth having when doing inside work alongside something you don't want messed up.
Good call, Douglas! We’ll have to pick a couple up next time around.
Lenny, your skill set is amazing? Are you self taught? Either way, impressive, including cutting the slot for access.
Been missing you lol
Hehe thanks for tuning in!
As talented as you gentlemen are could you have built a fiberglass tank?
Chainsaw
Did your family go for Tanner crab this year? I saw that the season started on time this year, noon on January 15th, the quota was less than 5 million pounds, so, the pot limit is 20 pots this year. Price was a bit better than last year. Hoping to see some videos with the Tanner Taxi back in action!
👍😊😊😊😊
日本人です。いつも楽しみに観ています!英語が分からないので、日本語の字幕も゙流して貰う事は出来ないでしょうか?
Once you get the tanks welded and the fittings for the fuel lines and hydraulic lines are you going to pressure check the welds before you install the tank.
We sure did William! Not sure we captured that on camera.
👍👍🙏🙏😊😊
Para que están preparando el segundo barco
Love watching your vids but how do you get anything done. 25 min vid and you had maybe 5 mins of work. I know you want to talk about what your doing but it’s the work that is interesting to me.
Sure, we get people that like the thinking behind stuff and others that like the work. We try to balance it out. Thanks for the input!
Kinda looks like a really odd guillotine.
