If you have never had utilities in your name: the deposit is outrageous.

You rarely see these single moms speak of getting assistance from the birth father or moving in with him while unemployed. The state the father's responsibility to mom and child.

@anthonymartinez4307 At the first of the year utiities went up. Electric 14%, gas 4.8%. My rent went up 8%. These wiped out my Social Security 8.7% COLA for 2023.

She stated he is still with them but he’s disabled. She was the sole breadwinner before Covid shut down everything. They were doing fine until she lost her job.

This is tragic and things are only looking worse in the near future.
It’s almost impossible to schedule an appointment to get work cards / they are backed up months.
After that then you have to find a way to the office.
When hired then 9 times out of 10 you will need to buy work clothes such as black pants and black shoes. Don’t forget the standard background check.
Then if you are lucky enough you will get paid every 2 weeks and they and skip a payment until the next payday.
Right and then when you get your paycheck the dam government has taken most of it in taxes and given it to other countries and when you need help they send you through all these dam hoops and red tape 😡😡😡and tell you that you make to much 💰 Dam 😂😂WTF like 40,342 a year is plenty .Such a dam joke 🤑😰
It's hard but can be done. Some towns have a work clothes program, where they will give you gently used clothes for free. There is also Good Will and other thrift shops , garage sales, Craig list, that you can find clothes. It might be hard at first to get use to, but EVERYONE needs help sometime through out their life. Think positive, you can do this.
The employer is responsible for providing you with work clothes. You don't have to buy your own.

Darlings if you are disabled you are not going to go to the courthouse. It cannot work out that way. Older people need rent help and deserve it. So many on the streets. The age of homeless adults in the US is edging up and there are many 55+ including disabled in various ways who are on the streets while of course we can build a bomb for a foreign country which I am all for helping them too but not at the expense of US.

I won my appeal because I experienced DV. My ex stole the rent money and then got arrested for trying to fight me. I should have never received an eviction to begin with. It’s tough out here in Vegas with jobs. It takes a recruiter forever to even review your resume.

They put so many restrictions on the process that it is unrealistic, most mothers with small children are not going to be on a fixed income. As, a grandmother I would want my children and grandchildren to have a safe stable home first.

Many companies are hiring in the spots, caregiver, housecleaning, deliver driver, child care workers, all supermarkets are hiring always, all hospitals, you can always ask for help at the welfare division, talk to your Appartment leasing office for payments plans, and the least try to get a movil home on a trailer park with all utilities is cheaper than paying an apartment you can get a two bed for like aprox $600 a month they are plenty of those mobile parks in Las Vegas and Henderson!!!

What do any of these pay per month? Because a single bedroom apartment in a safe area is 1,500 hundred ~1,800 that’s just rent utilities, groceries, without a car payment nor health insurance or money for fuel. This city screwed the people they need in order to serve their visitors come March they will not have the people power to accommodate all their visitors, shortages of food will definitely change Las Vegas lol…..

For example if you Google duck creek park they have many options for rentals in a movil park! Also keep in mind that many Appartments they rent is getting lower cause they have high vacancies rates!
Caregiver jobs starting pay is about $16hr, housekeeping up to $20hr per hr, all deliveries services you can make up too $ 130 a day depending the area that you’re delivering food! Amazon is always hiring!

That is not true, the whole time I was on furlough then laid off as long as I had the money I paid every dime, and my age is now a factor now I have been laid off and there's no money yes I'm having issues now, but if I had it I dang well my rent would come first.
At least southern Nevada has a program, up north we dont.
Yet my husband and I bought our own home using his 1227 a month SSDI income in spring 2021 @ 2.875% interest, 30 year fixed with ZERO earnest money to the seller, ZERO downpayment to the lender, ZERO points and our total mortgage payment is a FRACTION of what rent was. AND we overpay the principal every single month knocking 5 years off the life of our mortgage...Pays to actually pay your bills that YOU OWE.

Some in the tech industry with high paying jobs may be able to weather it a bit easier but even they may have been put in difficult circumstances.

Life is not that ease. Women can be as successful as men, but men have the advantage of being told throughout their childhood and adult life "work hard", "nothing will be handed to you", "your value is in what you earn", "you're responsible for all your actions" so men tend to take success more seriously. Men have almost zero options to marry a woman who will be the bread winner, while women always have the option to marry a man who brings home the money.
It's a shame imo that it's been women promoting these lies to other women. But currently in the West we're not even allowed to discuss this issue. How can we ever help women if we not allowed to look at the causes of proverty wih single moms?

with all the jobs out there i don't get it. companies are desperate to hire decent help. the lady in the interview at least looks coherent. my gosh the last few times i've been to home depot they had people working there that were barely awake. one guy i asked for help was half asleep and couldn't wake up. i asked the manager if i should clock in and help myself LOL.
how long are people supposed to live for free? i worked through the entire pandemic. its hard to empathize with people who had all this time off and got all that free money and didn't even have to pay rent on top of it. DRUGS, FAST FOOD, and VIDEO GAMES became a new way of life for too many people and now the party is over.
