We are going to break down lots of hidden Star Wars details, and a little later I’m going to talk about what Marrok revealed.
Doug: Yeah that was lame. I thought he was going to be Ezra or something.
No, actually the marrok reveal is badass, and a little later I’m going to explain why. And of course we’re going to talk about that ending, and how it was actually foreshadowed by the brand new, canon book, Return of the Jedi, from a certain point of view.
And before we get rolling everyone I want to say thanks for watching our channel, we love making these breakdowns for you, and we also appreciate so many of you shipping our new merch store where we come up with the designs and design the shirts ourselves. Wear l'aunch was a big success, and thank you for buying shirts like the prequel apologist, Hello there, somehow palpatine returned, and the apprentice lives. The link is in ehs encryption, screencrush merch dot com, you guys rock.
So let’s break down this episode: the fallen Jedi. The episode starts with huyang repairing the ship, calling out to home one. Now home one is the capital ship commanded by Admiral ackbar in Return of the Jedi, where he said this [it’s a trap]. And I neglected to mention last week that the meeting room where Hera talked to a hologram of mon mothma was also where mon mothma announced the attack on the death star [many bothans died…].
But my favorite easter egg in the episode might have been this [this is fulcrum]. So this is Ahsoka’s code name, that she used in Rebels [clip]. Now the show rebels kept this a secret for the whole first season, [clip] but there was a value-when Hera communicated with Fulcrum, we saw Ahsoka ‘s facial marking a s her call sign. Like on the apprentice lives tee shirt.
And it also came to be used by other rebel spies, like agent Callus, who used a hologram of ahsoka facial markings, just like on the apprentice lives tee shirt. who used this same hologram. But the clone wars final seasons revealed that “fulcrum” was the name of Anakin's personal channel during the clone wars [clip]. So this brief name drop of this easter egg is actually very subtle foreshadowing anakin's return at the end of this episode.
So then Ahsoka gives Sabine a little foreshadowing heavy pep talk, doing the ol’ “can I count on you” to foreshadow that no, indeed, you cannot count on her. But in this talk, Ahsoka calls thrawn [heir to the empire], which is of course the series of novels that introduced thrawn way back in 1991. Ahsoka is setting up Sabine for an all or nothing choice-saying that she will have to leave Ezra behind, if they have to make that sacrifice.
This mirrors the sacrifice of Ezra at the end of rebels, when he used the prugill to transport Thrawn and himself to another galaxy, separating himself from his friends [clip, always the plan].
Doug: Kind of like how Spock sacrificed his life in wrath of Khan, but then the whole crew risked their lives to get them back.
That’s true, but I-
So back to Ahsoka. This whole sequence where huyang is repairing the ship wheel they hide from the plot feels very much like the empire strikes back to me, when the millennium falcon is hiding in the asteroid belt. In both sequences they're repairing the ship, but you also have this fear of encroaching danger.
But speaking of fear, how badass is this line when Baylon talks about Ahsoka being formidable [not of fear..experience]. So , so frickin’ cool. Ray Stevenson was some of Hollywood's most underrated actors for years-and it's a shame that he dind't live to see who this performance is being received by fans. He adds this kind of elegance to Baylon-like Alec Guiness’s obi wan, he creates this idea of a debonair knight from a bygone age. - Krátké a kreslené filmy

Christ sake, please lose all the silly voices and childish puppets, it's making these videos difficult to watch for me.
Why are you guys so late releasing your videos for the ahsoka series?
Me and my bro always watch a episode then can't wait to watch Screencrush. But you left us dissapointed this entire series so far.. :/
Hey @ScreenCrush Crush I thought the Ghost first appeared in Live action in Rouge one?
If the Ahsoka series is supposed to take place right after the capture of Elsbeth then I'm fairly certain it happens well before the Mando season 3.
I am GENUINLY and ANGERLY and SADLY upset that Ray Stevenson passed away. His performance as Baylan is absolutely masterpiece. It took him very little time on screen to become such a fan favorite across the whole SW fandom, man, what a talent. Every new episode I can't help thinking "oh man, I can't watch this knowing there is 0 chance to ever see this actor again...".
That look he gave ahsoka during the lock up 👌🏾 god I wish we could have more of him
isn't he great! I was thinking the same thing, he plays this part so dam well!
Its sad but its also a blessing. Star wars has gotten really dependent on using the same old characters over and over.
Yeah it’s sad. He really killed it as baylan. I think he’s my favorite part about the show so far. I want to know his full story.
I get mad every time I see him on screen ….he’s presence is so heavy
I like how the episodes title “Fallen Jedi,” refers to Baylan, Ashoka literally falling, and the most infamous fallen Jedi in history, Anakin. The transition from water to the world between worlds was epic!
Great point regarding the "Fallen Jedi" concept...do you also think it could apply to Sabine, and also maybe to the seed of Kanan, our fallen Rebel Jedi, Jacen?
@@BARSxLJ Sabine is probably also referenced since her Mandalorian Helmet is shown in red during this episodes title card. She may go to the Dark Side since she cares so much for Ezra I think that’s why Baylan put his saber away he read her emotions and knew she would do it.
Lololol, you figured that all on your own! Noice!
@@m05c0 whoever he is, he is a dead person reanimated by Night Sister magic(Like Mauls brother) by Morgan. Whoever Marrok is he may be continuously revived by that same magic like in Jedi Fallen Order. Despite being cut down I don’t think we have seen the last of him.
I agree! The water transition was fantastic
I don’t think Sabine used the force. I think shin flinched in anticipation but that’s why she said “you have no power”
My thoughts exactly, Shin was expecting a force push and had a bit of a flinch or reflex in anticipation, then realized…Sabine is no Jedi
Edit: I stand corrected; I didn't hear the Force push sound effect but it clearly was present, so I guess it was just a very weak push.
Yea I was kinda thinking 'Bruh' when he said that she used the force, I thought it was very evident that she didn't. I'm really worried about how Dave continues this arc of Sabine, as she is one of my favourite Star Wars characters and feel that making her use the force kinda make the rest of her Mandalorian abilities redundant.
Yea agreed, Shin flinched expecting a hit or a push. I loved her reaction as well: “You have no Power!”
Yep
When Baylan say's "It didn’t have to come to this. But you know no other way." you can tell he's heartbroken from the Jedi ways. He knows their mistakes and see's Ashoka still following it.
Ahsoka knows their mistakes too though
Also when she ignites her saber, he sighs & kind of eye-rolls saying "how inevitable"; like all she knows is fighting...."legacy of death & destruction"
He is initially waiting to try to talk to her. She is the one who chooses violence and drives the conflict.
Lay down and die?
@@KDay004 thats a good catch...observant
This series makes me incredibly excited. Kinda like Clone Wars, Rebels, The OG Trilogy, and Ryan’s mom.
Gottem
@@Kingwavveyou mean… got heeeeem
Haaa! Gotteeeem!
Nice
I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure Sabine didn’t use the force on Shin. I think Shin was bracing herself to be Force pushed and when nothing happens realized Sabine wasn’t force sensitive and that’s why she said “You have no power”.
yes, agree... Major Fail Ryan!!!!!
Likewise
i feel like she did use the force, but it was basically only a teeny little force slap..
like, she has some amount of power in her, but Shin was just like "so.. that all you've got?"
I thought so too, but remember they add that force sound affect after the fact. If she was just bluffing, they wouldn’t have that sound.
I thought the same thing at first, but I rewatched that scene and it's faint but you can hear the force push sound that Star Wars likes to use when Sabine reaches out. When Shin said "You have no power." I think she was referring as compared to herself, Sabine has no power. As in that her ability in the Force is so weak or that Sabine is just straight up no match for her. Just my theory after watching it a few times.
Another Easter Egg that I'm surprised y'all didn't touch on, but the whole "Anakin spoke highly of you" "He never mentioned you" back and forth between Ahsoka and Balan seemed to call back to the first direct exchange of Obi-Wan and Count Dooku in Episode II.
actually, the Ghost appeared in live action for the first time in Rogue One- you can see it during the Battle of Scarif, and i think at Yavin Base during one of the wide shots
I was coming to say the same thing.
My favorite detail is how Ahsoka holds her lightsaber like a samurai and Baylan holds his like a knights at the beginning of the fight. Honor vs power
Loved loved loved the fight choreography because of this
It kind of reminded me of Brienne v. Arya when he started power-swinging like an armored knight
Bro, seeing a live action Ahsoka on the same screen as Hayden Christiansen is so significant to me. When I was a kid, I watched Clone Wars and I always wondered what happened to Ahsoka that she wasn't around during Episode 3, hoping nothing bad happened to her. I always hoped to see the two of them reunite on good terms after the fall of the Republic and Empire when I learned she survived Order 66 and her fight with Vader. And now, seeing that childhood dream come true, spanning over a decade and a half, I am filled with childlike glee. I can't wait for next week.
How could you have wondered where she was during the prequel’s when her character literally didn’t exist yet?
@@Phbalancedshorty Because I was wondering this when watching the Clone Wars.
Oh, I remember my excitement when she was revealed in Rebels, because it was canon proof that she survived Order 66.
I laughed out loud at Marrok’s death. Two weeks of speculation literally goes up in a puff of smoke. The other characters reactions were pretty funny too.
100% same.
Dude, Ray Stevenson is so good. He elevates the show to an insane degree. Even the saber choreography seemed better. I'm pretty much only in to find out his real motive.
Rest his soul
I think Baelon fell in love, got his girl pregnant, was kicked out of the Order. His wife died in labor and Shin is his daughter. He is awesome in this.
I dunno about all that but yeah I think she’s his daughter
I like that theory actually...
That could be cool but I may prefer he picked her up randomly or by fate a la Bane finding Zannah.
@@alexp601 Anakin on a slightly different path.
What if Anakin killed his lover or sent and Inquistor to find them and only found his wife
Not mentioned that adds so much to Baylon’s character is telling Shin to not harm Ren after giving up the map. What an awesome episode.
*Wren
Just to clarify the distinction.
@@mikethehunter5212 Although, what if she founds the Knights of Ren and not her brother?
@@MultiWicht Eh. I think people are reaching on that theory. One letter being absent doesn't mean anything. Ren is a word in irl that means a morally superior person. Personally I think Baylan is a more likely candidate.
Rendog?
Baylan is incredibly gifted in the telepathy powers of the Force. He doesn't have to probe like Kylo, in fact when he uses the Force to perceive thoughts he's incredibly serene.
Honestly, I think the "force telepathy" probably acts similar to the spell Detect Thoughts from Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. Reading surface level thoughts, such as Sabine's thoughts about finding Ezra and her hesitation in destroying the map, is easy, but reading deeper thoughts requires more effort and can be resisted with enough willpower.
@@digifreak90 I just attempted to use that spell on Gale in BG3 😂
I don't really think Sabine "fell". I think she believes she can save Ezea AND still attempt to stop Thrawn's return. Technically, she's still following her orders. Ahsoka did specifically say "If we can't go, then nobody goes." Sabine figured a way to go. 🤔
I agree that Rebel's Sabine would be more strategic and taking a chance. This Sabine presented as defeated.
@@jillg9108Sabine decided to go with the enemy. Doesn’t mean she is going to join them.
@@jillg9108Well she did just see her master presumably die so she lost another important person in her life & probably feels guilty that her inability to use the Force cost her the chance to save Ahsoka
@@jillg9108 Sabine alway did things Her way. Very stubborn.
Sabine 'could of' sabotaged the map before handing it over to Baylan, so to cause a NO win win situation.
I'm only on season 2 of CW, but hearing Anakin call Ashoka 'Snips' gave me goosebumps. Also, seeing Hayden Christensen return as Anakin had me tearing up.
That show gets soo good especially in later seasons.
Trust me it only gets better from there
You're in for a wild, emotional ride. Enjoy The Clone Wars!
I recommend watching the trailers before watching the next season as you watch. Adds to the mystery of the season and the hype.
I'm almost jealous. Not every episode was great (to be expected from seven seasons and extras) but the ones that were added so much to the mythology and were epic stories in their own right. The Final Season is 'must watch' for any Star Wars fan in my opinion. It's always impressed me how Filoni (mostly) manages to expand on ideas from the prequels and make them better, and make the prequels more interesting to watch again.
It was PEAK Star Wars , can’t wait for the rest of the series now. I also loved what they did with Marrok and I’m glad they didn’t make him a character we already know.
Peak star wars is a great way to put it. I understand people have a right to dislike stuff, but this is fantastic.
He still could be if he was a nightsister resurrection.. Shin seemed pretty upset, like he was more than just smoke. There could still be another reveal.
@@Ryan-xz7qp oh yeah he will be continuously revived via night sister magic like in fallen order, he seems to be revived like Mauls brother was
Idk about peak star wars but its definitely back on the right track
I hope this show gets more people to check out the Clone Wars series - which builds Anakin’s Ep. 2 character into a hero, leader, legend. Really makes his cinematic fall to the dark side all the more tragic.
Not to mention how much more painful it is to watch Order 66 after having watched The Clone Wars and actually getting to know those Jedi.
I was relieved to find out Morrock wasn't Ezra!
The Eye of Sion mapping sequence reminded me of Stargate.
Thank you!!!
I mean, 9 sigils in a circle, spelling out the coordinates to another galaxy??? That has Stargate written all over it!!
Just because that first battle was in the volume it wasn't default boring to me, I loved watching Ahsoka and Sabine combine their skills and pull enemies into each other's line of fire, tag team combos, very cool.
It was nice to see sabine actually fighting. I don’t like the jedi direction they went. She was a badass mando as it was. She should have stayed that way now that she’s force sensitive she’s weak it’s dumb.
Agree!
@@Ibsmokin 🤷♀
The more Ray Stevenson we get, the more we want. So much more depth in his character portrayal than any other in recent (if not all) SW. Here's to hoping we get a satisfying conclusion to his character arc. RIP Ray.
The guy from prison break will either replace him or be his henchman or son
@@ZachKopkaZakeWho?
That writing technique of using a common theme for basically every chararcter's arc in a given episode is really something Filoni seems to love. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if it has been used and theorised before, if not it should probably be named after him.
I love Ashoka's, vs baylon fight just humming ,and staring down each other with the light Saber brought back memories to Obi-Wan vs Vader in new hope.
Baylon is the best complex vilian we have had in a while. RIP Ray Stevenson
🕊
I am wondering if Baylon is one of the hero's of this show
@p.d.waltman9451 Could be but he said to secure the future, not what nor who that future included 👀
Seeing Hayden as Anakin with Ashoka in live action had me in tears. My prequel loving heart is already full. Can’t wait to see what next week brings especially since they are bringing it to theaters. THE HYPE IS REAL
Pity the cgi was horrific!!!
Same!
@@chriscunningham8703 I’m thinking it will be better this week. I bet they spent less time on that shot since it’s so brief.
I don't know if Sabine actually used the force, I kinda think Shin just flinched
the first fight was epic becase we got to see Sabine being a mando and that was good! Also I love how Hyouang fought the assassin droid off, clearly losing but pulling out punches like there's no tomorrow.
Ezra to Sabine: you just undid my sacrifice and I even left you message about hard choices!!!
Each time I watch an episode it’s sad to think about how much of an epic character Baylan Skoll could have become. I love every scene he’s in.
I don’t have the words to describe this episode. It was beyond incredible.
The flight poses they do (even when Ashoka copies Anakin's pose by holding her saber above her head) are actual Samurai poses. They do them in Kurosawa films and in Kendo.
It's getting hidden under all the Ani love but the robot fight with Huyang was great
Ikr? old man got some MOVES😂
Well he did teach light saber building and train the younglings in fighting, right?
The fact that he held his own against an HK droid for as long as he did is awesome. He may not have won but he gave them some trouble for sure.
It was
Is Huyang made from beskar? He looks similar to Mando‘s unpainted armor.
Nerdy voice: actually we saw the ghost for a split second in Rogue one. Love the stuff guys carry on!
I truly never understood why there were so many Ezra theories for Marrok. It didn’t make much sense and I’m glad we got this reveal early.
This episode is what the entire show thus far should’ve been like. Absolutely fantastic episode, hopefully they keep it rolling. The first three were a pain to get through but this was fantastic!
What a damn good episode. The cinematography, and the dialogue were all great. The Baylon vs. Ahsoka fight was easily one of the best of the franchise. That ending made me cry. Filoni cooked! 10/10
Also, I think that Baylon's lightsaber fighting style is a mix that of Qui-Gonn Jinn and Kylo Ren. Balanced but powerful. It's like he was weilding a claymore.
Agreed, been a real treat. Love all the callbacks from Rebels.
Because he was using the exact style of someone with a claymore and it was magnificent I love the use of different styles of swordsmanship hopefully crouching tiger type stuff later too 😂
My thoughts the same. Watching Kylo's is like watching an anxious teenager with it. Then Qui Gon is like a relaxed master. But Baylan's feels like fine aged wine, the man loves his moves and grace
Honestly that ending was amazing I wasn’t expecting to see the world between worlds at all much less this soon
the sound of darth vaders breathing through the mask when sabine hands over the map gave me the chills , loved this episode 😍😍
I really like how this builds up to Thrawn being the hope for the empire and Ezra being the hope for the rebels. May the best "hope" wins!
I'm just really glad to see they're pushing the boundaries with this series, not playing it overly safe. Definitely one of the best episodes out of all the Star Wars TV series IMO
Words can't describe how awesome this episode was. Bring on Episode 5.
Doesn't Asohka have like fingerless gloves on when she grabs the map? Unless they can piece the map from her fingers idk we shall see I guess
I was able to follow this episode quite well, in spite of not watching Rebels, because of all your prior videos on Ahsoka. I thought it was an engrossing episode, and also greatly appreciated your explanations in this video.
Excellent breakdown! I think Sabine didn’t use the Force. I think Shin was bracing for the Force push but it didn’t happen why she said Sabine has no power.
Baylan needs to teach Shin when and where to use the Force. She could easly choke her to death as she did later in the episode, but instead, she used smoke nades.
Poor apprentice lol.
That ending absolutely broke me 😭😭🥹🥹 it was a perfect ending and such AN AMAZING episode! Thank you so much Dave 👏🏽👏🏽
I really hope the Anakin cameo is there for a reason, not just fan service.
Why would it be fanservice?
This is not superhero movies and series.
It’s clearly there for a reason, but it could be a few different things:
1. Force ghost
2. Anakin went into the WBW at some point before turning.
3. Something is impersonating him.
I’m betting on force ghost.
It won't be fanservice. Anakin will be invovled in episode 5 of the story. Either to help Ahsoka confront her fears or to give her closure, as the last time Anakin amd Ahsoka saw each other was on Malachor where Anakin, as Vader, tried to kill her
It would be fan service if it randomly was Leia or Yoda or a random character like that. Anakin is specific to the story and the character of Ahsoka.
@@itsm4usyeah its worse its star wars
Oh I have been really looking forward to this SC breakdown! I wouldn't know half of what I know if it wasn't for you Ryan and all those behind the scenes at Screen Crush. That was cool that you gave a shout out to Star Wars Explained. I have also been subscribed to that channel and watched his review. Ahsoka is really pleasing Star Wars fans over all and I feel those now who may of put off watching it may end up watching it before its all over with the positive reception that its getting. It was a classic emotionally driven and action packed episode being some of the best Star Wars to date!
Love you calling out the volume action! Don’t stop🐐
8:19 Btw Hera's ship the Ghost was first seen in live action in Rogue One, not Rise of Skywalker
Noticed the wolf constellation in the star map in the end credits is also on the walls of the Father's monastery on Mortis, same orientation on the light side, mirrored on the dark side (which glows brighter as the Son flexes his anger).
Baylan is seriously one of the best new characters introduced in Disney Star Wars. As everyone else has said, Ray Stevenson was so underrated and it sucks knowing we won’t get more of him.
As someone has been super critical of the show, especially the Ashoka and Sabine parts, this is the episode that finally has me hooked. It’s the first one that has me pissed and excited I have to wait a week and I’m now loving the direction of both Ashoka and Sabine. Never should have doubted Dave!
Also.. the Maul theory… I’m really hoping he’s not brought back because like how many times does he have to die before they just let him be dead… HOWEVER if they did… I believe if Lucas had done the sequel trilogy himself that Maul would be the main villain. I don’t think they’re doing this but would be interesting if they set him up to the villain in the Rey movies and do a version of George’s vision for the sequel trilogy.
God rest his soul
I’m enjoying Ahsoka so much and I always love to watch your breakdowns! You and Doug give me another level of appreciation for each episode!
(Your sass was great in this one!)
the first time you see the ghost in live action is during the battle of scarif in Rogue One
That was a fantastic episode!
I'm so excited for next week!
Well done! 🙂👏
Ryan you had me cracking up during this recap! More videos with you in a good mood please!
Emotions of loss can lead to the dark side… This is exactly why Ahsoka was wary of training Sabine. I hope there will be a future episode we get to see a flashback explaining the loss of her Wren family and that the reason why they had a falling out before they reunited
That duel between Ahsoka and Baylan was absolutely breathtaking! It was like watching a samurai fighting an Arthurian knight, but in space! Loved every bit of the episode, so exited to see where the series goes from here! :D
I don’t think Sabine actually used the force, I think she cleverly made Shin think she was going to, to get shin to flinch, so that she could use her Mandalorian weapon from her wrist.
Personally, I don't think she was trying to make Shin flinch, I think she was actually attempting to do a force push, but when that didn't work she used her wrist launcher as a backup attack.
I like both of these ideas and they both sound correct I didn't know what to do but type this out ok bye!
BRAVO Screencrush! 👏🏾 Yall had me cracking up, found cool Easter eggs with lots if history, and came out with some cool theories! Bravo again! 👏🏾
Thank you for your thoughtful review, the time and diligence required is appreciated!
Ray Stephenson is soooo good as Baylan. Top tier villain and so sad he is gone.
Bad parenting maybe but think about how young Hera was when recruited by her mother as a spy (bad batch). It's pretty much all Hera knows and I'm sure it's not easy to find a babysitter in the outer rim, let's cut her a break.
You know, I definitely questioned her decision to bring him along but you have a good point regarding the babysitting aspect. If you think about it the New Republic are a bunch of bozos who have no idea of what’s going on right beneath their noses. For the most part totally unreliable. Then you have Jacen who is the offspring of TWO incredibly strong personalities with a penchant for not following rules. It’s in his blood 😂 he’s definitely in better hands staying with Hera than being left in the care of the NR where he likely would’ve gotten into some shit he shouldn’t be getting into anyway.
@@Kingwavveplot armor probably, in lore Ezra reconnects with Hera many years in the future and ends up training Jacen. Who knows, Filoni could retcon quite a bit at this point.
If you were a general in the rebel alliance, and basically lived on the ghost for several seasons of Rebels, wouldn’t you think the safest place for your son to be would be on that selfsame ship, next to arguably one of the best pilots in the galaxy?
@@Kingwavve "Keep your friends close, and your ~enemies~ Children closer"
11:38 correction - Qui-Gon Jinn used form 4, Ataru, which is why by the end of his fight with Maul he was tiring out. He even took the break in the plasma walls to rest and recover some of the energy his older body had exhausted. The only master to continue to use form 1 was Kit Fisto.
I particularly enjoyed the way Ahsoka and Baylan kept changing ready positions in their duel. It reminded me of playing Jedi Academy online, when you'd switch between speed, power, and balanced poses, and your character would move to a new stance.
I'd like to pose a theory that when Asoka grabs the orb it burned the piece of the map onto her hand. Maybe she uses that to get to the other galaxy.
I also agree.
Would that be call back to Raiders Of The Lost Ark
@@bet0v966 Also a Disney property.
@bet0v966 yea just like all the other references to other things we all love lol.
@@mikejamison4520 I just meant if they end up doing burnt hand map thing then it’s call out but if not she’s just burning her hand which is what I think this is - nothing special
22:25 Are you insane?! The de-aging here is superb! Also he WAS de-aged in Kenobi...Just not very well.
8:20 small nitpick but the first live action appearance of the Ghost was in Rogue One during the battle of Scarif, also first live action appearance of Chopper if I'm not mistaken (and Hera Syndulla was named through a speaker in the background).
As for the episode, that was just peak Star Wars, but also and especially peak Clone Wars & Rebels.
It's very sad that Ray Stevenson didn't live long enough to see his character and performance on screen and most importantly us fans reacting and enjoying it so much.
Fantastic episode loved the water to World between worlds transition.
Screencrush is the absolute best in the game at breaking down every detail and the edits are hilarious. My mom
Lol this channel is, by far, the best Star Wars/Marvel/comic channel across all social media. I kinda wanna hang out with all of them in the not-Blockbuster store on a Friday night 😁
Love that you break down these episodes ❤
Marrok was a brilliant way of not going in a way of any fan theory and not only say „your parents are no one“😂
That reveal was so incredibly dumb and pointless 😪
I noticed that in that last scene with Anakin, the saber on his belt isn't the one from AotC or RotS, but it's his Vader hilt (from the OT). Not sure if that's an oversight on the part of the production crew, or if that's supposed to signify something...
If you notice Marrok also used a forbidden lightsaber technique of phasing by turning his lightsaber off to get through Ahsokas block she however blocks the move perfectly
Great vid. Really helped me figure it all out
This breakdown made me laugh a lot and put me in a good mood, I love it!
I don't think Sabine used the Force against Shin. Shin instinctively shielded her face expecting something to happen when nothing happened. This is why she said " you have no power"
No. There was a sound effect indicating the use of the force. It was obviously weak and was just a little slap. Plus, when has there ever been a force user flinching like that expecting the force used against them? It was clearly a little force slap and the "you have no power" was actually meaning "you have no real power".
I was seriously starting to doubt the show up until I saw episode 4. This episode actually felt like a Star Wars movie. I really enjoyed it I think they can do better with the pacing of the show. Some scenes seem to drag on, but in this episode it had good suspense and well executed timing. The fight scenes were creative and enjoyable to watch.
They had a lot of work to do in the first few episodes to get people who haven't seen clone wars or rebels even a little up to speed
@fishsohorny I didn't get that from the first three episodes. I don't think they mentioned Zeb or Kanan once. They should have done a live action flash back and at least explain who the rebels are and how they got to where they are in the very first episode. Also this story about Ashoka training Sabine in the force when that never took place on Rebels.
They should have made that into a flash back for the 2nd episode so that it would have felt like we're getting caught up to what the Rebels have been up to since the end of show.
Your breakdowns are by far one of the best series out there! Thank you!
On one hand, I’m thrilled that Ray Stevenson’s last role was truly so captivating and undoubtedly would have been his long awaited mega breakthrough in Hollywood. Baylon is the highest of high notes in his career. On the other, it’s devastating that we will never get to see him continue in this role or any others.
His stage presence always reminded my of the type of gravitas and skill that Peter O’Toole and Richard Harris brought to their roles. A rare gift indeed.
Your theory about Marroc the mysterious acquisitor being Ezra literally went up in smoke😂.
The Maul theory is gonna do the same, I'd bet the house on it lol
I agree
I'm thinking "Anakin" pulled Ashoka into the WbW like Ezra did to save her. I'm thinking there's more to him, I don't think this is Anakin as we knew him. I think that could actually be Vader's saber.
I thinks it’s Vaders 100%, it’s too dark to be Anikans
Definitely Vader's lightsaber!
you have the best unbiased star wars videos i love your content to keep me informed on whats going on in starwars 👍
I honestly loved this episode of Ahsoka, it's really given me new found respect for the earlier episodes. Great vid BTW!
PAY DOUG NOW!!!! Also great episode!! Now use the world between worlds to vaporize the sequel trilogy.
I really want them to have a origin story for Manny Bothens. He was one hell of a hero!!
Manny Bothens..... I'm liking that!!
Great breakdown of the episode
Careless whisper cut was hysterical. Great vid
I freaked out at the ending! I got thinking though, if it were my choice, I'd destroy the map because Ezra would find a way back I'm sure. He's a force user, I'm sure he could connect with another pergill and find his way back if he really wanted too.
Sabine clearly didn't use the force, Shin just flinched, because she thought that something could happen, but she doesn't know that Sabine isn't force sensitive.
I loved the scene in the dual with Marrok when he turned his light saber off
I love how Ray Stevenson manages to bring melancholia to his role in just a few scenes.
Excellent video as always- just one small “um actually” - Sabine didn’t use the force, Shin recoiled expecting to get hit and then nothing happened, prompting her to declare “you have no power” before taking a wrist rocket to the face
I love Baylan and Shin, but have you ever noticed Shin never blinks? So bad ass. Always focus.
Awesome breakdown, Ryan. You’re the best at what you do!
This video was both hilarious and informative! Thanks! 😂
I totally saw Sabine little betrayal coming it fit her character Ezra is her family she will do anything for family definitely setting herself up for disappointment.
I get it. Sacrificing one’s self is doable in the right circumstances. However trying to sacrifice the one you love most is almost impossible.
Awesome episode!
