A great laptop until I started a Skype video conference.
@@ChristDwellsInMe3 From my knowledge this laptop has no webcam and inferior keyboard compared to Acer Triton 500. Asus as a brand is better to Acer but at 200-300 dollar / pound more and less features likely I will go with Acer Triton 500 that looks and feels better.
Was thinking of recommending this to a student but it has no webcam and distance learning usually needs a webcam
That's funny. I actually got the GL531G, which a model before this, because it didn't have a webcam, and then I got a separate one. I don't trust stuff like that. I would prefer if it didn't have a microphone but I cant do anything about that.

How good is the screen really? I' looking to buy either this or the Zephyrus in Arctic White which has a 240 hz screen with better colors and contrast - as far as I can read, but I don't know anything about screens my self...
I' currently using an ASUS N56VZ, which has a pretty nice TN screen, and I want to make sure I get a better screen!

I would say this is a tough enough model to handle day to day activities. The A and C panels I believe are metal with the rest completed by solid plastics.

You see, when making overview, it would have been nice to put temperatures in it as well, since FPS and scores are useless if the computer start throtling to shit after few minutes of workload.

The laptop has a good cooling system. This is a big argument in the choice.
Why would I trust a review done by someone who's selling the laptop? I had this laptop and returned it, it trottled by default and games and micro-stutter
This is more of an overview for a product than it is an actual review. We go over the benchmarks and features of the laptops. We don't give a grade on the laptops, just here to inform.
Does the rog logo glow?
It does not on this model, it is mirrored which compliments the brushed metal look well. The light bar underneath really makes it stand out though!

He had exactly the same issue, I’m supposed to receive mine next week, I guess I will take it back too I see too many problems with it
@@camilledumas6259 my version was the strix G GL531 i7 and gtx 1660ti (15inch) version. its really fucked because i liked the laptop, felt great typing on it, great build quality but as soon as i booted it up for the first time, it made so much noise.. so went to armoury crate and saw the cpu running at 4000mhz just in windows. ( balanced mode btw) unplugged the charger to see if that would help and it did for like 30mins or something it went back up tho. really bummed
So is it a bad laptop? am Planning to buy it tho.. btw how do you open up the number pad?

I have ordered the strix Hero 3 g731 with the rtx 2060 but it’s the same pretty much.
All the strix 3 seems broken I don’t know why but Asus seems to have built something wrong here.
@@mhdardan14 Idk man it was making a lot of noise, you can open the numpad by touching the right corner of the touchpad for 1 sec it activates it.
what happened to 1440p screens ??? All this new Intel/Nvidia horse power and a wave of 1080p monitors and screens in 2019
Unless it’s a 17” screen, 1440p is kinda pointless

I was using the Asus Strix g53 laptop for a while. The specs are beast level with 1060. But the laptop lid looks similar to any other gaming laptop. I applied a black camo skin from gadgetshieldz.com to give a unique look for my laptop.

Kasra Moghaddam i actually like it a lot, take good care of packing it and taking it somewhere as these gaming laptops in general are not macs and the monitors are prone to being damaged. i had to send mine back in to replace the monitor because it got damaged in my backpack(my backpack is too old and had too many books in it) so that’s why but other than that the thing has handled stuff very well
