'South Park' creators announce agreement to buy Casa Bonita

- "South Park" co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone confirmed during a virtual news conference on Friday that they've reached an agreement to purchase iconic local restaurant Casa Bonita.
While they've reached an agreement, it's still pending based on bankruptcy litigation. But, Stone and Parker said they've agreed on terms to purchase the famous Lakewood restaurant.
Casa Bonita has been closed for food service since last spring, when it was shuttered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The owners declared bankruptcy earlier this year, and recent court filings show the owner discussed possibly of opening in late July or August.
Perhaps in traditional "South Park" style, the plan is not going just for a simple purchase and continuation of service. Parker and Stone said on Friday that they want to dive off the restaurant's famous waterfall. They also have plans to improve the notoriously unappetizing food, they said.

This makes me so happy. I'm from south dakota, and every time we went to denver to visit family we'd visit casa bonita. I'll be planning a road trip to come visit once it re-opens under new management.
I will totally drive to Colorado to go to Casa Bonita if it is South Park aligned. I have loved the show since I saw that Christmas card in the early 90s on the dial-up Internet noise.

I've been to the real case bonita many times because I only live like 30 minutes away from it and I'm so glad the creators bought it although I doubt I will ever get a chance to go again because from now on the restaurant will be packed.

HELL YEA! CASA BONITA HAS BEEN A BIG PART OF MY LIFE! I WORKED THERE ASWELL AS A TEENAGER FOR A SUMMER AND IT WAS AWESOME.
That's pretty awesome. I did watch a small documentary covering the restaurant and the food does pretty much resemble cafeteria food. All they really need to do is just update the menu and keep everything else the same.
Next to The French Laundry, I have never wanted to go to a restaurant so bad!!!

Idk I don't think a South Park theme park. They'll probably add some "Easter eggs" and references here and there but I'm sure they want to keep it the same, especially how it is on the show.
They would never do that. It would be the anthesis of everything they have ever actually stood for. It will be true to it's nature but improved and cleaned up.

From what I saw, it was an all you can eat buffet so the business model for that is not going to deliver the finest cuisine. Something tells me these guys are gonna find out the hard way of what a nightmare running a place like that is.
