- In todays episode I wanted to celebrate easter. I will be showing you how to make some chic decoupage easter eggs, unboxing some new tableware that I recently acquired, setting my easter table, making a delicious rose tea loaf, and sharing two new books that I think you’ll love.

Rose Petal tea loaf Ingredients
275ml hot rose tea : nicolasfairford.com/collectio...
125g / 4oz each dried figs and apricots - chopped
150g / 4oz sultanas
125g / 4oz light brown soft sugar
75g / 3 oz pistachios - chopped
200g / 7oz self-raising flour
1/2 teaspoon rosewater
2 medium eggs - beaten
For the rose buttercream
15og / 5oz Icing sugar
75g / 3oz Butter
Dash of Pink food colouring

@@NicolasFairford please don't forget to trim the bottom of each candle so as to properly fit the candle holder - especially as it is such fragile glass.
Also, whilst the shopping channel describes those vases as bud vases, I think that the manufacturer would describe them as bulb vases. Namely they would fit a bulb from a grape hyacinth to an amaryllis bulb, depending on size, and the roots would sit in water whilst the top of the vase would hold the bulb securely. People collect them and its still possible to pick up Georgian examples.
The decorating of the eggs was so relaxing. I can totally see myself making some. I have some beautiful napkins to use, as well. I love easy projects like this when you don't want anything too complicated. Once I saw the table setting, I believe this is the most beautiful layout I've seen yet that you have done, apart from the tea party tables which I love very much! I really fancied the small flower arrangements. The smaller flower vases allow for so many to be placed on the table, and it worked really well with the eggs circling round them! Everything was such an eye catching experience. I really liked it so much! The rose and black tea made that cake loaf sing on that pink icing, along with the green nuts. Once you brought it to the table, those green pieces tied right in with all the green on the table to make the perfect match. Did you notice how they just popped out even more once on the table? So many different things. Really well done, I must say. You could definitely get that one put in a magazine. The second book you showed us looks like some really good inspiration. I saw an outdoor table setting but then you turned the page faster than I could catch the details. Ha, ha! lol Thank you for all these efforts to inspire me and share these interests on via CZcams. Welcome back from your holiday in Portugal. Your decoupaged eggs are beautiful, as is your table setting. My only quibble is the bamboo handled cutlery. To me candles, flowers, crystal wine goblets say "formal." Whereas bamboo says casual, picnic, dinner on the patio. In this case I think the bamboo is not cohesive with the rest of the table setting.
I agree. Bamboo makes me think of panda bears. Not Easter.

I used to do fun projects like this when I was a teenager. I'd play music and get lost in my project. Now that I'm older I don't do it anymore and my life doesn't feel as rich. I just realized this!

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the decorating, baking and craft ideas. Might I suggest plastic tweezers for placing delicate paper images for decoupage? They really do help me in various crafts that require what my hands cannot.
What lovely spring color combinations for your table. Very clean and crisp, not too vibrant yet festive. Really enjoyed the tea loaf recipe. Looks beautiful and I'm sure with those ingredients tastes heavenly. I do have your teas and I'm looking forward to using them in my baking.

Tip for candles…place a small bit of artist putty in the candleholders or at the bottom of the candles. This should help to keep candles upright. Love the music you have used Nicolas. Happy Easter 🐇🐣🐰🍀🌺🍀🌺💐😊

You can even get a pot of candle adhesive that is safer and made especially for this purpose.
