I sent you a message via your website with a link to the Royal Family documentary. Hope you received it. Keep up the good work.
I feel elevated now that I know how to elegantly host a house guest. Thank you so much for this video Nicholas!
I want to use languages in my professional life in hopes of serving more people.
When I want to escape from the ugliness of the world, I look forward to your videos for peace and beauty
Well said.
His mother has to be proud of him ..Great ideas always ..blessings.
Make our world a better place
You are so oOoOO beautiful in so many ways. It is a joy to share life with you. You make me Happy đ
Me too. I love videos and sweet personality
I used to prior to Nicko selling out, never mind there are plenty more just the same
Yay for ironed linens !! A thing of the past to some extent it seems, but definitely a civilized habit.
Right, I donât iron my linen now, but some years before I couldnât sleep on unironed bed clothes.
Thank you for reminding us how to live graciously and how to treat our guests with true hospitality!
Who wants to spend a weekend in Edinburgh as a guest of Nicolas? đđŒââïžđđŒââïžđđŒââïž
Yeah â€we all would be delighted, wouldnât we? âșïž
My father was from Barbados so since he passed I don't here French I'm gonna try Babbel to learn it all over.
Your landlord must think you are a dream tenant, so proud of your home and keeping everything in such good order. What a thoughtful and wonderful host you are...well done.
Yes! With The Covid and Job Issues all over the World, Landlords have so many Tenant problems now more than ever. If you ever "left" they would be heartbroken but would give you a glowing reference.
I don't know about 'breakfast' in bed, but for over 20 years I have had a homemade apple turnover (heated) and coffee in bed each day, even when I travel. It's my ritual, originally to deal with getting the cows milked, the kids off to school and then me off to my job in town. Now that I am semi retired it's still very treasured. I am amazed at how many people don't even think of such a thing. Yes, I have to do it myself, but it's still my 30 minutes of luxury to start each day :)
This sounds so lovely.
Beautiful as ever xxx
My pet hate in hotels is when fabric cushions are placed on the bed, directly against the pillow where you will lay your head. These cushions have been used multiple times and putting them on the bed is unhygienic - yuck!
Thank you, Nicolas, for another enjoyable video. Anyone would be honored to be your house guest. Everything you do is first class. The world would be a better place if everyone was as thoughtful and considerate as you are. I learned Spanish in high school, but I never kept up with it. In America, we have many Spanish-speaking immigrants. I could learn a lesson from you by being more considerate and using some Spanish greetings to show respect for language differences in our community. Looking forward to next week's video. God bless.
To be your guest would feel to me like having landed in paradise.
Great inspiration to up my game.
Let's not forget that Sophie loves living in a beautiful home too!đ¶đ
I love seeing Lady Sophie so much! She is precious!! Well behaved, most Shih Tzuâs are! I have two! Have fun with your friend from France!
I literally just came home from a yoga retreat. When I woke up, I went to the kitchen only to get a cup of coffee which I brought to my room to drink leisurely while reading. That is how I like to wake up at home. I think your breakfast in bed idea is spot on
Spanish is the language i would love to learn n speak. I dont know why but since childhood I am attracted towards the serene word n country Spain and the royals toođThanks Nicholas to temind me to learn the languageđ đđ
Nice video as usual. I used to work in Geneva, Switzerland and fell in love with French language, so I studied French for several years. Then I started to work in German company. They did not insist that I know German (because I worked with English documents), but I wanted to learn it just for myself. And my English is from my ordinary school. That is it. Thank you for all beautiful things you show us. And for your English.)))
I noticed your candle. I got the reeds and they have lasted and lasted. Well worth the money( I have also had one of your lovely candles too)
You have become my Sunday inspiration setting a welcomed tone for the week ahead, Thank you Nicolas, NYC/USA
Always with charm and total elegance!!!
Well, now I know where I want to visit next! Heavens Nic, you really know how to make someone feel loved and special. As host, I think you are having as much fun getting ready for your guest, as they will in staying with you. Have a swell time and thank you, as always, for your charming inspiration! ââïžââïž
I couldn't agree with you moređ
How lovely to be a guest there đ. I always leave a small journal and some wrapped candies đŹ by the bed. Your candle container just gave me an idea to use it for candies. Iâd been using 1 for cotton swabs. Well done đ Nicholas â€
What a coincidence! I have two different guests coming to stay in October and just spent the weekend clearing out the guest room and love these simple tips to make it even better. Also long time viewer, first time commenting. Thank you for the lovely videos and for the tribute to the queen. Sending love and well wishes from San Francisco!
Sweet message. Iâm in the Sacramento area. Love Nicholas and his beautiful videos. So refreshing and polite.
@@ehpeachylove nice and true statement đ
I totally agree Nicholas, cooking dinner for a friend is so special. I always make a meal I can pre cook most of it and do the finishing touches just before you serve it. I also like to have the table prepared so guests know thereâs something special for them coming up.
Hi Nicholas, The other day I told a friend I was making blueberry scones for guest that were coming. She looked shocked and said "I don't have time to do that! They'd be lucky to get a bowl of cereal". After seeing this video it reminded me more than ever - no one "has" the time but some of us "make" the time to do special little things. Enjoy you everyday. What a lovely home you have!
I'm sure your guest will feel truly welcomed and appreciated because of the effort you've made to make her stay a lovely one.
She must be lucky to be your guest.
Enjoy each moment. đ
Your friend is going to so love her stay with you, as you are treating her like a queen! This is how I treat guests I have, as it is so lovely to feel they are happy, and enjoying staying with you in your home. Sophie is such a sweetheart, she makes your house a home. Your place looks so clean and tidy, and I love the fact you make your own cleaning solutions. Thank you yet again for your lovely , interesting vid Nicolas. Hope you had a lovely time with Gabby. xxx
Good luck with French. I speak it fluently. Just be patient, it takes time, but you'll get it in the end. You will find that reflexiveness is a very handy form in French, the English language has it's own work-around.
Best liken was always Irish linen. My mother used to send it over to friends in America after the war
Your home and park/garden are so beautiful đđ Hope you are well and enjoying the Fall
As an American, Iâve visited Edinburgh a few times, but generally just the touristy parts - the castle, Princes Street, Arthurâs Seat, etc. So I really love seeing the green areas and more residential areas you show in your videos, along with some of your favorite shops. Your Edinburgh is a beautiful city. (The tourist board should hire you.)
Happy to see you are learning my language ! On the contrary for me, speaking English is difficult to pronounce correctly without my huge accent đ . I am sure your French friend will be glad to see the beautiful table and room you have prepared for her with so much taste and love. Have good moments together and be happy.
Hi from Australia đŠđș. I love your amazing videos - thank you so much for your beautiful tribute video to HM Queen Elizabeth II it was really special and thought through â„ïžâ„ïž
Cher Nicolas, merci d'apprendre le français. En France aussi nous vous suivons. J'adore vos vidĂ©os. â€ïž
Thank you for the beautiful video. It warms up ones heart.đ
Because I'm sensitive to perfumed soaps and lotions and come out in an itchy rash, I put out non perfumed soaps, but do leave a travel sized lightly scented lotion to cover bases for my visitors.
I love your content, I've always, made sure my family and friends, have a lovely bedroom, but realize, they come, to spend time, with me, I don't want them to feel, that I'm waiting, on them hand and foot, they can get that, with room service, in a impersanlise hotel, I want my guests feel, they can, plod down, in their dressing gown.or pj's, share breakfast, pour coffee, chit chat, before, going off, to get ready, for our day.
Lovely video, Nicolas as this one reminded me how much I love to entertain guests. Before the Pandemic, I took for granted the art of entertaining and now that society is back to some normality, the urge to share my home, where I live and the enjoyable sights and sounds of my city has resurfaced. I could see you with your own boutique hotel and I would happily pay for that experience.
I first learned French to be able to communicate with my Dance Master. Classical Ballet uses many French terms.
What a beautiful picture you have on the wall above the bed in the guest room!
Took French đ«đ· in High School, very much enjoyed it. I would be interested in learning Greek đŹđ·.
What a lovely spare bedroom and what a lovely way to entertain your quest love the idea of their own towels and books in the room. Thank you for some great ideas! â€
You are the most thoughtful host! I love all of this. Thank you once again for your soul soothing videos!
Well I am sure you guest will feel absolutely welcome and thoroughly spoilt.
Lovely to see Sophie enjoying the sunshine.
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with us all.
How beautiful for your guests to enjoy a peaceful break whilst staying with you. I love you that you think about the simple luxuries like breakfast in bed when very little of us can experience it without making it for ourselves. As for learning languages I know this doesnât probably go with the sponsor but mine would be sign language. Have a lovely week x
What a great way to make your guests feel very special. You make everyone feel very relaxed and cared for.
Very lovely video. American tip! White Colgate toothpaste is a wonderful silver cleaner in a pinch, not sure if you have that there but thatâs what Amazon is for! â€
You have a good and sweet accent in french Nicolas after what I heard! đ. I would very much like to be your guest...đ„° even just for tea...đđșđž Much love to you from Marseilles
My bedding is all Rachel Ashwell Simply Shabby Chic from Target in the USA, all 100% cotton and linen, and all the designs are now retired and I had to round out my collection from eBay. I wish she would bring it back!
every time I look at your living room , the painting above the fireplace gives off such joyful vibe and makes the space feel alive, beautifulđgreetingsđđ
Nicholas, What a pleasure it would be to be a guest in your lovely home where you have thought of everything as in a quaint bed and breakfast for the most lasting and happy memories.
BRB, packing to go to Nicholas' place đ What a lovely video. I am currently redecorating our guest annex so this is very inspiring.
You are the perfect host and put so much effort inâŠ.we can see you care for your guests so much. I have been thinking of getting A Year at Clove Brook Farm so might now take the leap. Enjoy your book reviews. Thanks đŠđș
Watching your videos for therapy from Miami, Florida where hurricane Ian is hitting the SW part of our peninsula as a catastrophic category 5 event. We dodged it but there are tornadoes about. Hope you are doing well. Love how your place looks BTW. I also love the Cotswold area: it's so magical! Who wouldn't move there! Your videos would be even more amazing because there's never a dull moment. I wish I could go back again for a longer time. Blessings to you!
Dear Nicholas U so enjoyed this vlog. Your guest is going to feel so loved and special when she comes for your visit .
The silver tray came out beautifully and the setting perfect. Very thoughtful and considerate in all your preparations .
I too do special things for my guests, water by the bed, night light in the bathroom, flowers in the guest room, clean home and special cooked meals that include breakfast and dinner, along with afternoon tea, coffee, light snacks.
Being prepared sets a nice tone for the whole visit and is truly appreciated.
Enjoy your time with your friend. Big pats to Sofie. I always smile when I see herâ€â€â€
Absolutely beautiful, it was like watching an episode of Downton Abbey.
Hello Nicolas, thank you for this video of good manners (very rewarding)! English suits me because I'm learningđhave a great day, greetings from Franceâșïž

Beautiful video Nicolas. The guest bedroom looks really lovely and welcoming. The breakfast tray looks amazing too. Enjoy your time with your friend from France.. Iâm sure youâll be an amazing host.
Anyone would feel so special in your home. You are such a thoughtful person with an eye for beauty & detail and knowing what we would make others relaxed and comfortable. Thank you for sharing with us.
I'm glad you're learning a second language. Being a social media active member an also being seen along from foreigners, a second language is a tool to make your network even bigger. đđđ. I speak more than one language, and I love it. Greetings from the sunshine State of Florida USA.đșđž
Itâs 11:30 in the morning and I am sitting in my patio sitting on a lounge chair with my phone on my lap. This video is so relaxing I fell asleep and I had to go back.
Living in Texas speaking Spanish is very important
When you greet a person and speak in Spanish one can see the sparkle in their eyes and their face light up
Tex-Mex is also spoken which is a slang Spanish
Thanks for sharing and all you do
I love your hospitality Nick đđđ I wish I could visit you on my next trip to London. If ever you would like to visit the Caribbean, my husband and I would love to have you and your friend as our guests đčđ·đčđ· l especially love your calm disposition
white roses are truly your signature...dts/usa
I was absolutely waiting for this video! I'm so glad you did it. I don't have a home to host people yet, but I certainly hope to have one some day.
Having someone make me dinner far surpasses restaurants any day!
I envy your guest, what a wonderful treat to spend time in your beautiful home with the charming person you are Nicolas! đ
One of the best parts of the weekend is seeing what you have to share. You and your content are a delight!
Beautiful video with lots of good information! Thank you for sharing!
Nicolas I love the way you make everything beautiful in your life. Your home, outside of your home, your meals, preparations for guests....all so lovely. Love the white Roses. Have an enjoyable time with your friend.
I would like to learn Spanish fluently. I took it when I was in the 5th grade but now I would like to learn it enough to have a conversation with people in my City.
Thank you for this lovely video and looking forward to the next one.
Your guests are fortunate that you care so much about their comfort . Everything looks beautiful !
I live in a one bedroom but if I had a spare room I would make one suggestion . I absolutely hate eating in bed lol so I would have a small table and chair to sit their breakfast tray on . Enjoy your visit đđđšđŠ
I have never read a bad comment about you. Itâs because you are the most kind
And thoughtful person on CZcams or any other site. You bring such peace and
Love to all of us. Youâre right about the bedding and press sheets. I have many guest staying at my house all at the same time. When I great them in the morning
I always ask them âHow did you sleepâ. They all say best sleep ever. I say, it must
Be the pressed sheets. They all want to take my bed home.
Love listing to your soothing voice, itâs very calming. Thanks
Nicolas,
You certainly know how to make your guests welcome. Loved your episode. The Clove Brook Farm selection is superb and will be sure to please Gaby. Thanks again for recommending it.
Greetings from Canada đšđŠ!
Andrew Gabert; B.A., RMT.
Wonderful Nicolas! I totally agree with you about guest room. Nice job and I'm sure you'll blow your friend away!
I love how you make your guests feel so special when they stay with you at your house. You have class.
Que detallista Nicolas. Se agradece esa preocupacion en un anfitrion que piensa en tantas cosas que hacen feliz a los huespedes. Eres un amor de persona.
Totalmente. Pero... Que pena que bo este la traduccion en español de sus videos
your breakfast tray idea is wonderful...I used to put trays on sideboards with coffee, cocoa and tea with all of the additions (marshmallows, sugar cubes, spoons, caramel, chocolate chips, peppermint sticks, flavored creamers) and them allow them to 'help themselves' all during their stay (of course, I would check it and refill it from time to time)...around 4pm (tea time), I would put out a few cookies (biscuits) for them to help themselves as well, and a few pieces of fruit (apples, plums, oranges)...love your ideas...dts/usa
You know how to look after your guests too! They must love it.
That sounds like a B&B where I would love to stay at. đ
Oh, Iâd love to be a guest in your houseđ„°
I agree, it is so nice to make a stay for a friend for family member special, and lots of fun preparing.
We have two guest rooms and I love having them always look good. They are both different and when I walk past going to my room I have to have a peek in đ
Enjoy having your friendâs company â€
You are giving me such great home cleaning ideas. Quick question, your Zoflora, what fragrance is it that you use and is it only available in the U.K.? Nicolas, you are such a good friend. I would say that any of your guests are lucky to stay with you.
Everything is simply lovely.
Absolutely amazing video! I have always been trying to think of ways to make my company feel more special. They enjoy their time with me but I just feel like I want to do a little more sometimes, lol Loved this one as always Nicolas! đđđ„°đ„° Thank you so much for sharing!
Es fantåstico que quieras aprender otros idiomas, qué tal si también incursionas en el español. Muy acogedora la bienvenida que le has dado a tu amiga, te felicito todo luce espléndido.
Debe aprender Español..
Love the breakfast tray arrangement. Simply beautiful. Thanks.
Except that it could do with some cutlery đ
@@janemackrell3733 and a cup and saucer!
I love your channel â€
It's nice to set aside a small basket in your bathroom storage area for the exclusive use of your guest, they appreciate not having to carry items back and forth from the bedroom to the bathroom. Also, if you enjoy antiquing look for monogrammed bed linens. Many of them were made for a bride's trousseau and rarely used. It's a delightful surprise for your guest to find their initials on the top sheet of their bed. A nosegay of flowers on the nightstand, a water glass, and a few magazines are all very welcoming.
The olive oil in the dusting spray is a nice idea I will have to try that.
Your skin and hair look amazing! Really like the side part over the middle part you look stunning as always! Thank you for the tips on learning a new language I will be learning French and German as my family has moved overseas. Pleasure to see you looking so well thanks again for a beautiful upload
Such a beautiful video! I absolutely love good bed linen, what is the name of the Italian company who does your favourite bed linen? x
This is lovely. I have a houseguest arriving tomorrow night who is escaping Hurricane Ian, so I've got a slow-cooking pot roast going and planning walks around our town here in Wilton Manors. With regard to learning a new language. My choice was Italian years ago so that I could chat with cute Italian boys... Of course.
Love your videos,I wish I was your guest đ
Your home is really heaven, enjoy your time with your friendđ
Watching from Australia
Nicholas, I love your videos. They always give and they are always from the heart. Thank you
I love your thoughtfulness Nicolas...so special â€
I study English right now for work and travel, and your videos are amazing for that!
These days I find your videos so calming. Your book recommends are good, now I want them! Everything looks lovely. I would like to learn many languages.
What beautiful gestures for your guest! Youâre are simply thoughtful in every way! So lovely to see!
Very neat, nice. I like the thought and thoughtfulness you put into everything. Itâs so relaxing watching you, it as if we had our own private little visit. At the end, I expected to see you opening the door & welcoming your friend Gabby.
