    • @williamt.szeibert8699
      @williamt.szeibert8699 Před 28 dny +3

      I agree, however, he's employed for that sole purpose. I think that the fluidity of football leads to the fallacy that you have to have a good level in multiple aspects, and generally, that's correct. But in the case of Haaland and goalies they can be lacking in other parts of the game as long as they do their job correctly. so, I don't really see a problem with his lacking in other aspects as long as he puts the ball in the back of the net because he wouldn't be a top-flight player if the role of striker didn't exist, but it does, and he suffices.
      The fluidity part that I mentioned was comparing football to american football, where it's all stop-start play and each player only comes on for their specific role as opposed to football where 10 of the 11 players are able to do each other's role without violating the rulebook.

      Well, for starters, I don't think Pep would like Kane to drop deep like he usually does. So, forget about him assisting. Running in behind teams, Kane does not have that speed, so that's not the route to go. So, I would say what Kane can actually contribute more than Haaland is actually ball retention. His hold up play is amazing. His one two touches with teammates is superb. With just that two contribution, actually Haaland would be deadly to play, as he got the body built and teammates to pull it off easily. Saliba bossed him throughout the game and he is about 3/4 the size of Haaland.

    Criticisms are warranted. However, they’re indirectly aimed at Pep as he’s said over and over he doesn’t want Haaland involved in buildup play. I think saying that is insane, but that’s what Pep has said. Also, when City aren’t playing quick it puts Haaland at a major disadvantage as well so Pep needs to coach him up for buildup OR stop playing such slow ball which marks Haaland out of the game. Notice he didn’t have these issues at BvD or Salzburg…

      @@khole15 He did great at City last season but Pep changed everything yet again this season which has had a tough impact on Haaland. To make matters worse, city got rid of some good players and didn’t bring in equal quality they let go. KDB being out for 6 months doesn’t help either. But I think Pep could do a lot more to utilize Haaland more like faster buildup and counter more often.
      But yes, I think he’d like score more at LFC with their style of play.

  • @162tsb7
    @162tsb7 Před 28 dny +3

    Haaland busts his balls to get into the box every time only for City's wide players to cut back instead of delivering the early cross. I'm not a City fan but the inability and unwillingness to cross has me shouting at the TV kdb aside crossing the ball is sadly lacking in most top flight teams. Players who can whip a good early cross in are very rare these days.

    • @princebond
      @princebond Před 26 dny +1

      The decision not to cross boils down to Pep's tactics. Pep wants to keep the ball at all costs and statistically speaking, most crosses are unsuccessful even with world class crossers in the team. Pep sees it as giving the ball away essentially. Also, Haaland for some reason is quite poor in the air for someone of his stature.

    • @162tsb7
      @162tsb7 Před 26 dny

      @princebond not all crosses need to be head high a first time drilled cross along the ground is a defensive nightmare haaland will be there defenders know this and stick leg out to block and have as much chance of putting it in the net. I agree with the point you made about poor crosses tho very few players today can put a good cross in. Again tho at what point is it good to put a ball into the box when defenders are running towards their own goal or when the have set themselves because the early ball in wasn't played?

    Let’s be honest here, if you put Nikolas Jackson in that city team, he’d score at least 30 goals. Haaland is doing the bare minimum at city. His all round game is terrible, if you put someone like Kane in city’s team he’d score More than Haaland he’d create more than Haaland. Keep in mind pep wanted Kane before Haaland but couldn’t get him cuz spurs weren’t willing to sell. Harry Kane got 30 goals in the premier league with only 1 penalty with a spurs side that finished 8th last season, that’s more impressive than what Haaland did last season but no one wants to talk about it.
