"Bang average footballer". He has played in 4 seperate teams. 3 different clubs, in different leagues and for his country. His record for all 4 teams is absolutely unreal. Anyone who thinks Haaland is average is either a gobshite or knows nothing about football
Straight over your head
In all fairness it’s not twitter fans making these claims it’s actual legends like Keane and McCoist
He's an unbelievable goal scorer. But not an unbelievable footballer.
They're talking about his application of technical ability, without scoring goals lol. Scoring goals he is elite, but that's not the be ALL end ALL! Football has considerably gone downhill in regards to individual ability because Inzaghi was considered a goal hanger because he had limited footballing ability apart from scoring goals. This was east because he played in an era when you had elite strikers that offered more than goals! Not ONE of these premier league strikers are better than Andy Cole and he hardly gets mentioned in ALL time top ten😅. If young Andy Cole played for City, could you imagine the records what he would break! Fit Aguero would run rings round Haaland because what's the point scoring 50 goals if you don't do it when it MATTERS! I'm convinced he's not better than Lukaku technically, but he's obviously a better killer 😅
I wouldnt say McCoist knows nothing about football lol I see your point but its just as daft as theirs.
He's currently got the Golden Boot. Not bad for 'bang average'
He's no better or worse than Shearer who was dependent on service as he couldn't dribble or create anything for himself.
Golden Boot based on Goals NOT BEING A FOOTBALLER 🤡
I'm an arsenal fan but honestly you guys are crazy disrespectful. Haaland is one of the world's best goal scorers. Players all have different profiles. His profile is that of a goal poacher. He is not a link up player

@@neocell710 Weird thing to be CRYING about. Lol
Wasn't this pretty much the same with Lukaku? Scored a lot of goals, one of the best goal scorers in the league but the rest of his game is/was pretty poor. Haaland is not good on the ball, he's got great positioning and off the ball movement, he's excellent at beating his man to the ball in the box. He's the definition of honing your strengths rather than improving your weaknesses.
The wording here is probably what gets people. He's a great footballer but he is below average on the ball
Arsenal fan here, Halaad definitely not average! Exceptional goal scorer, the service was not there for him, he’s a box player and a great one at that

Nunez never stops working for the team. Doesn’t score as much but the man works his socks off even without a goal scoring opportunity. Haarland is the opposite. Scores more and that’s it. But it is what pep’s team needed especially last season
I think Haaland is not much involved in link up play with City a) because Pep doesn't want him to drop deeper and rather have him stay close to the box for as much as possible, and b) City controls the ball in the midfield / attacking midfield anyway. With Dortmund , Haaland was NOT only a typical "poacher" or "tap in merchant". Dortmund played a typical fast, transitional counter attacking football in which link up play in a deeper role was a pivotal part of Haaland's register. Same goes for his time with Salzburg and Molde. He thrived in this role as much as he's been rather successful with Manchester City. McCoist is one of these typical reactionary pundits who just can't see things in context... and he's a bonafide flip flopper to boot.
Could not agree more. The inability of the general public and especially so-called experts that have played the game at the highest level to see the nuances of a case like this is nothing but shocking at times.
They are simply rage baiting the public. Haaland has the strength and physique of Ibra and Giroud.
Giroud has better passing and hold up play, he gets criticized.
Ibra has better dribbling, touch and longshots, he gets criticized.
Haaland has better attack positioning/ Discipline in the box and better finishing in the 6 yard area, he gets criticized.
Look at Peps history, false 9 is his preference.
Haaland is not a Guardiola player. Pep has compromised his beliefs to accomodate a monster goalscorer.
....and win the treble
@@signumscreenprint8720 very true

Average players don’t have goal scoring records like he does across multiple leagues, they don’t break premiership scoring records in their first season or win trebles as the clubs top scorer in all comps. Parts of his game are seriously lacking at the moment but he is still one of the best strikers in football and a generational talent that will be talked about as one of the greatest scorers the game has ever seen. He’s far better than Ally ever was
He is a great goalscorer, will be one of the best goalscorers of all time but his overall game is really poor. This is shown more often in a team like city where he sticks out like a sore thumb. Clearly the argument is going completely over your head. He's like a Pippo inzaghi - great goalscorer, average overall player. No real impact to the game outside of the box.
@@MWG87 he’s not being asked to come deep and receive the ball or get involved in build up play his job is literally to get into the box and score goals and he’s the best in the world at it. He’s more than capable of adding that to his game but it wouldn’t suit this city team to do it as they already have midfielders whose role it is to create chances. He’s an elite player and if given the opportunity would prob excel in any position given his physical attributes. Totally agree about haaland. If the centre halfs can deal with him city turn into a 10 man team. He gets away with it by scoring loads against lesser teams who city dominate.
Imagine this team with aguero as the main man instead of haaland….
Modern teams defend with 11 players. So you need 11 creative players on the pitch to break it down.
Haaland is the reason why ManCity is creating less and lower quality chances. Because of Haaland, they are one man down in the build up.
As a result, they have less quantity and quality of possession, ball progression, chance creation, and so eventually the total number of goals his team could score would be reduced.
ManCity’s tiki taka play was so much more dangerous with a skillful tekky false 9 instead. It’s like they have 16 players on the pitch. Arsenal would not be able to defend that.
So don’t tell me that Haaland did not get the service he needed. He is the reason why his team is providing less service.

Spot on. He’s lethal in open space and in transition. The reality is the people who call him just a tap in merchant have no idea he is a monster on the counterattack and in transition.
@@Photosoflife
Because he is not skillful enough to play in tight spaces.
@@thierryhenry674 But he actually is. Just goes to show how little people like you actually watch Haaland.
And this is punditry. No wonder england last major trophy was in 1966
🤔complaining about a point of view of a scotsman 👶🍼
Man City foul before the attack even starts every time their press fails and because it doesn't look like they're stopping a counter they never get booked. Pep deliberately tells his players to do this too bc anyone who joins that team starts to do it.
hes an exceptional striker, obviously he was clocking numbers which were too good even for him to sustain-- victim of his own success
Can they not say Arsenal kept him out the game? And stopped the ball going into him
Haaland is a goal scorer in the mold of someone like van Nistelrooy, that's his game, his numbers are amazing and deserve respect. Why does he need to be a player who does everything when he has the likes of DeBruyne, Silva, Foden and Alvarez around him doing all the "footballing"?
Then stop comparing him with legends like Henry doesn't come close 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@melaninbotswana2474 numbers don't lie
Halaand isn’t best footballer, his job is to score goals and he does it best and goals wins you games, in terms of other aspect of the game he’s not designed for that
Haaland is a “bang average footballer.” No, he’s a generational footballer. His numbers are off the charts and truly generational. His job is not to be a twinkle toed dancer like Doku, Grealish, and Silva with little end product. His job is to score goals and he does it better than anyone in the world.
City-85 games, 81 goals, 15 assists
Dortmund-89 games, 86 goals, 23 assists
Salzburg-27 games, 29 goals, 7 assists
Norway-29 games, 27 goals, 3 assists
Total-230 games, 223 goals, 48 assists
Roy Keane spot on as usual.
You one of Keane's fluffers?
@eddiejohnson2201
Keane’s analysis was lazy and completely over the top. If you actually watch Haaland each game, what Keane said is very far off the mark.
I feel like city don’t use haaland properly every time he makes a run they don’t look for him the goals he would get if the first thing the midfielders did was look for his run and deliver a through ball is crazy. They still want to pass it into the net and I get that’s peps style but haaland is wasted with that style of play. Watching the game v arsenal I thought LVG was city’s manager can’t lie.
Haaland is a prolific goal scorer but his overall player is that of a League 2 player. Well done Ally best pundit and commentator in the business. 👏
He is bang average, last season the dopes of football didn't know how to handle him. This season he's been found out. If Owen, Cole, Rooney, Shearer, Fowler, Ferdinand, Giggs, Van Nistelrooy, Collymore, Henry and Wright played today in this new farmers league, they'd all get 30+ goals a season.
You would think that the prem was full of Dutch players. Half of them are legit Cloggers.
I ain’t going to lie. Haaland allowed to have off games after what he did last season with a treble & 1st ucl for him & the club. But it’s time for him to step up now, club needs him being deadly again.
I said this not long ago , gave example of bobby firmino is a far better player then haaland , but haaland is freak in size and speed and goal scorer but when he has ball at feet he looks average and clumsy
Flat track bully, that's all he is. Lukaku 2.0
If he's bang average God to think what you was than ally 😂
Ally was on another planet, a bit like your grammar.
Compare that to the LFC game. The ref called everything and gsve yellows for fouls which were so soft
His job is to score. He had a gsme when he had two touches snd scored to goals. Haarland is a machine!
Bang average footballer who happens to be the best in the world at doing what is hardest... scoring goals. I am sure Allison from Liverpool is a bang average footballer too. He just happens to be the best Keeper. I am not sure (other than click bait) what the point is of evaluating Haaland this way.
Facts! I been saying it for the longest time! Haaland is so poor at football. Can't dribble, average shot, poor control. He's a tap in merchant who is strong and can run. But as a footballer his overall game is poor !!!
So hes like a Lukakau ?
1 bad game...ask pep if he would swap him for rashford
54 goals in 59 games
im sure haaland cares deeply about your assessment of him. maybe he'll get his mind off it by continuing to bang in goals for one of the top teams in the world
@@paulrichards6894wow seen your comments and you are thick like, I’d have kane, hojlund, Toney all over haaland any day of the week, said from day 1 he’s terrible as a footballer and if you can’t score goals at city youve got a problem stick any of these strikers in citys squad and they’d have similar numbers
“Let it flow” is a load of balls too… a foul is a foul
Man broke premier league record as a kid in his first season. Hes better than bang average , yes a lot of players would score many goals for city but no one has done it like him , hes not the most skillful of players but he does bring something with his pace , power and finishing that cannot be denied.
He's a pure striker. Rest of his game will grow in time.
Can't grow your touch and awareness at top level post 23!!! technically you develop from 6 - 18 / 19 and improve a fraction post then. He is limited BUT has a great goal scoring mentality as you feel he doesn't give a sh*t re criticism..great approach. He is limited mind you, nearly every blue accepts that but love his mentality
Exactly, he's only 23
In football terms 23 is too old to develop that part of the game that happens in academy years
@@ianblake3127 at lb channel they said he may not be over his injury (cifty broght him back to early) - could be an explanation to his dip now.
Or maybe Peps training make Haaland wors - he had better touch/clinical etc before entering City - almost 1goal/game in every club/team he has been in
Hope it is a transition year - if not maybe time to move on before city ruins him
I get Haaland is not versatile and limited but I would think maybe bench him next season until his game improves? Him being on the starting 11 makes no sense yet Pep continues to start him
The Wolves v Coventry match Aly is talking about was fantastic to watch, hardly any stops by the Ref and the game flowed like the old days…..lets have more.
English Prem is full of bang average footballers
Being a big strong athlete lets them get a game every week
Your so right
Thank you
I am a liverpool fan, but to say he is bang average due to his hold up play is rubbish. Maybe Pep dont want him to do hold up play. His job is to get in the box and score or do a little one, two.
Imagine how many goals that bang average footballer would score in Scotland.
Rodri and Bernardo Silva have the Ballon Do’r of tactical fouling.
Goal scoring and being a great player aren’t mutually inclusive. Gary Lineker was a decent goal scorer but an awful player. I don’t think Lineker could actually reach the goal with a shot outside the area never mind test a keeper.
I remember a story about Filippo Inzaghi. In training he was so poor technically that his teammates couldn’t understand why he was bought. They soon realised why he was in the team after seeing how clinical his finishing was. Haaland may be similar? For me Kane is the ultimate centre forward. His link up play is first class and he scores for fun. As for the criticism regarding Arsenal’s defensive tactics from what’s his name? What nonsense, Arsenal stopped City scoring and it wasn’t by constant fouling. I’m not a fan of Arsenal by any stretch of the imagination. However they shut City out and made them look toothless. A very well earned point.
The media always love to build up to bring down
Halland himself on numerous interviews has talked about improving but has done more in the game than the vast majority of his critics, you’ll drive a prized asset out of your league.
Deary me, the radio station that said Messi when at the height of his career was overrated and would not make it in the EPL is at it again.
Scoring is part of being a footballer. This is the same as saying that a GK is poor because he cannot drible.
Haaland has been found out by the top 4 defences in the league .His first season stats was an anomaly
If kdb is injured or not having good game haaland looks poor and not interested
If it weren't for so many tactical fouls going unpunished, perhaps this game would have been an entertaining proposition.
He was invisible tonight against Real Madrid which is impressive for a Giant Nordic Meat Shield 😂😂
It's a joke if anyone says Haaland is anything but a world class striker. I'm a Liverpool fan, and i know talksport is constant clickbait, but it's a total lack of class to keep calling Haaland a poor player after what he has done
totally
I have always had this opinion about players like Haaland, Raul and Ruud Van Nistelrooy. They are specialists at their role. Killer strikers but average footballers. Can they do anything else?? This is where players like Harry Kane, Henry, Toney, etc. are different
how are they average and killer strikers at the same time?
@@kristiantello average footballers. Killer strikers. They are specialists. Exceptional at finishing and that's it. Great footballers can adapt and play different positions and styles.
The ref chose to let professional fouls go - he could and should have booked somebody in the 2nd minute and chose to turn a blind eye. 2 fouls later from the same player and he was just at the final warning stage. Did it help the game? Nope I would say it probably helped to make the game a poor spectacle.
Everybody knows Haaland is not a great footballer - but he's strong, he's determined and he sticks the ball in the back of the net at an alarming rate. Not his fault that Man City couldn't give him the service he required and he sure as hell isn't paid big bucks to look like a footballer on the halfway line.
If this was a 2 horse race between Arsenal and Man City, then I would commend their tactics especially since a point would keep them ahead of Man City. Unfortunately its a 3 horse race in which Arteta put his personal pride ahead of the best interests of him team. He gave up top spot because either he was scared or because he wanted to not lose to Pep. This has now given the impetus to Liverpool and they now have their destiny in their own hands. When is this manager going to ever be brave and ask his team who were in good form to take it to Man City. He is just a coward. He doesn't trust his team or the process.
Arsenal played a good game, if It was last season. They had to go for the win this season.
Also If Mourinho had played like Arteta he would be ridiculed by the media.
Bang on shadow..arsenal done a good job on them...City couldn't break them down...if trossard got the ball to martinelli...may have been a different chat...saliba and Gabriel were immense..not a good watch for the neutral but us gooners it will do..back to winning ways against Luton Wednesday hopefully 🙏 gazzgooner
The way the media rate Ivan toney is beyond me
That guy doesnt like to run around much but is seen as a link up man
Make it make sense
his PR guy is exceptional!
People forget that the Premier League has world class defenders and organisation right through their eleven. To a degree, they seem to have worked Haaland out. He is still very dangerous, but not quite the unknown qualitiy he was last season.
