I would like to highlight DPF issues in Bharat Phase 6 OBD2 commercial vehicles. This issue has created so much headaches that Trucks are visiting Service centre’s 3-4 times every month & the issue crops up even after changing sensors & cleaning the equipment. The service centre’s have a fixed approach & they can’t permanently fix this problem. Also they charge exorbitant prices despite the vehicles being under warranty. Pathetic state of affairs.

And why is this happening? Is this more with trucks who aren't spending majority of the time on open highways?

Please select Tata Motors - JLR synergies as a topic for upcoming podcasts.. How the adoption of D8 platform against the X2 limited the engine choices, AWD options etc.. why they didn't re engineer Varicor for mounting transversely, have they really benefitted from these decisions and how effectively they can use JLR EMA platform for Avinya models.. and of course any plans of localising Ingenium engine production.

On the Jimny, i believe it was just a lil late to the party. The car buying spree kind of ended when the Jimny launched. Thar stole that thunder. Guess it will be cherished a lil while later, with a slight change to the positioning. Weekend Adventurer.

Main problem with Hydrogen is hydrogen storage and distribution. Hydrogen is a very small molecule which has a very high tendency to escape. Storage and distribution of hydrogen will be very expensive.

Jimny is failing only because of strategy:
-Launch was was delayed by over 3 years.
-They skipped 3 door, should've launced 3 door then 5 door
-Development of 5 door made it more expensive than it should've been.

Comet could have done so so much better, if they have put a suspension which is capable of handling Indian roads, which we all know are nowhere as good as the roads where the Comet originated from. My daily commute to office is nearly 61 kms, and Comet could have perfect for that, but due to suspension, I shy away from making that purchase.
I staunchly believe Tata should revive the Nano nameplate, and give India a EV like Comet, but with a better suspension setup.

Its not the cost of the vehicle for hybrid and plug in hybrid vehicles in India. Its all about the exorbitant tax structure that most cant afford. The tax structure should be heavily reduced for higher engine capacity vehicles and the manufacturers should focus more on new developments in IC engines instead of electric vehicles alone.

If hybrids are launched to mass market cars with affordable price’s, It would be a huge loss to fuel and the auto manufacturers.
They want the mass market cars to burn the consumer’s money and give out hybrids to those who can actually afford fuel.
    It’s all messed up!
Diesel hybrids should be the next big thing and also bring out a solution to DPF problem in BS6 engines. 🙌

Plug-in Hybrids will work only for a consumer shifting back from EV’s or used to the EV ecosystem. They right now exist only in expensive cars and I don’t think their users care much about the mileage to consciously put them to charge. In cheaper cars, they will end up having weaker engines and lack absolute ICE power, which will fail them as a long distance vehicle of choice. However, Strong and Mild Hybrids with its convenience shall work only for the short term, only to be eaten up by EV cars. All of this conversation may go for a toss, until and unless we have the right infrastructure with fast charging capabilities.
