Of course this is a satanic ritual, even if there was no intention. The intention is what matters least, since Satan is being idolized through symbols, rituals, mantras, etc. Even when joking, demons always take everything very seriously, it could be a game, a joke, anything. But in this case, it seems obvious to me that the disciple really had the intention, although this is not even necessary to please Satan.
