- Volvo Trucks’ The Iron Knight is the world’s fastest truck - twice over. It has beaten the speed record in the standing-start 500- and 1000-metre categories. The record-breaker is custom-built in every respect apart from the engine and the series-manufactured I-Shift Dual Clutch transmission.
With 2400 horsepower, 6000 Nm of torque and weighing 4.5 tonnes, The Iron Knight has a power-to-weight ratio above 0.5 hp/kg.
With an average speed of 169 km/h (105 mph) and a time of 21.29 seconds, The Iron Knight beat the international speed record for 1000 meters (0,62 miles) from a standing start. It also beat the corresponding record for the 500-metre (0,31 miles) distance, at 131.29 km/h (81.57 mph) and 13.71 seconds. The record run was carried out at a closed-off test track in northern Sweden. At the time of publication, the records are being reviewed by the FIA, the international motor sport association.
During the record runs The Iron Knight reached a top speed of 276 km/h (171 mph).

I frequently drive at around this speed with custom engine and gearbox, anything more is hard to control. in unmodded games, I drive at around 150km/h with a trailer.

Exactly. The Shockwave has 3 Pratt & Witney J34-48 engines. Produces about 19,000 lbs of thrust and 36,000 hp. I don't know how long a kilometer is but 376 mph is the record in a standing mile. No truck has come close to it.

You need to have enourmous experience in just going straight at those acceleration levels. It's not as easy as just holding the steering wheel stiff.. cus the whole steering system twists and bends at those forces and you would have to constantly adjust in random directions to keep it going straight..
it will be impossible, cause the motors are expensive or even impossible to build, but you can try on gods name

Good thing that helicopter wasn't hovering straight above it as it passes midway through. I have a feeling this thing pushes huge holes through the air. Insane turbulence wherever it goes. A helicopter would suddenly lose a lot of air under it.

really impressive, but not fastest truck....whit 4 stroke engine bandag bullet made better 10 years ago, and a 3 jet engines truck made a 400meter(quite a quarter mile) in 6.5 with a top speed of 600km/h 375 mph
well this one is more durable, but even this, i don't believe can do 1000 km (for examle madrid/paris or milan/amsterdam or berlin/helsinky) whit a 30 ton trailer
