    You could probably drill a few holes in the strap and run shock cord through them so when you open the snap, the strap springs open and stays that way. I've seen some custom sheaths that do that. Whoever came up with the idea, it's pretty smart.

    The sheath wouldn’t be a big deal so you go out and carry these or try them in every once in a while when you watch action movies?

      The sheath design isn’t a big deal. It’s a great knife.

    What kind of tang does it have? 440C makes me nervous in a long blade as stainless steel snaps under stress.

    • @JoeDoomsday
      @JoeDoomsday  Před 7 měsíci +2

      I agree. 440C, can be brittle. This blade is pretty thick steel though. - I’m pretty certain that the tang goes into the rubber handle most of the way then transitions to a screw at the pommel so they can screw the scull crusher end cap onto the handle. Not my favorite design But,… there are holes in the tang up near the blade where the rubber has went through the tang, like a rubber pin to hold the blade inside the handle. You can somewhat see it, when the light hits the handle just right. The rubber is actually made right onto the tang so it should be pretty secure. Anyhow I think it’s a hollow grind blade also. That means it slices really good but it’s Not meant to baton wood or chop trees. It’s a fighting style knife meant for stabbing & slicing. If You whack it against a steel pole or a brick, Long enough, like JoeX does on his reviews, then certainly it will break. But I think it can handle a decent amount of stress. It should hold an edge pretty good also.

      @@JoeDoomsday ok that makes me feel better about buying it. I was also looking at the D2 version which is nice and D2 is a good Steel but it’s almost 3x the price and if I’m going to spend 3x the price I might as well just buy a higher quality “super steel” like one of the Cold Steel large tantos. I’m willing to spend the money on a better product but there’s always something good to be said about having an inexpensive and functional piece as well. And you’re right it’s not like I’m going to be attempting to mill my own lumber with it 😅
