I know right, he is absolutely beautiful, intelligent, is a liveaboarder on a SuperYacht (by classic standards), AND an explorer, a man true mariner, and seems to be an all around lovely guy with a lust for life.
He has the full package! Haha!
What a fantastic episode. So interesting and Michael and his wife are truly living the dream. I know that in the main Micheal and his wife crew the boat so they don’t have a permanent captain but it looks like they have a permanent Stewardess? It’s so great that they were able to spec the ship to their exact needs and enjoy her as their home for such protracted periods. Really amazing! Thank you Nick for bringing us this and thank you Michael for allowing us to see your great boat and life!
I think I'm right in saying that ultimately they plan to run the boat entirely themselves. Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Bering is extremely flexible with their builds. They are almost one off coach builds other than the hull specs.
They do say in another interview that they have a deckhand/stew to help out with things, but it's not intended to be permanent. Their intent from day one was to run the boat as a couple.
What a beautiful motor yacht. He sounds so proud and gives the impression he knows every last millimeter of it. Great video thanks .

Very practical. The wired remote is an example. WiFi is not always dependable. I'd love to be a fly on the wall seeing Michael and his wife's joy as they wave at Liberty. Thanks Nick &, Michael for this vlog
The wired control is also redundancy. If it slips from the operatos hands and the neckstap is forgotten, the sturdy wire sill keeps the device to be rescued. The wireless alternative rests forever at the seabed.
He absolutely loves his boat and family and friends. Beautiful boat

Nicks energy and genuine interest shown to these owners helps them I believe feel relaxed showing their wealth in a positive way and so they open up about their lives and the big toys they own.
I am dead jealous.. I would love to be able to do what he is doing (I keep checking my lottery tickets!), and he certainly has the right tool for the job. His home from home on the water that can deal with inter continental journeys. Out of all the manufacturers of boats, in my opinion Bering is the world leader.. Steel is what you need for oceanic travel! Bering - Comfort class! Nice interview Nick, it is good that you made him at ease and he just gave you everything.

Nice to see Nick onboard a Bering yacht.. I would love to see Nick in Turkey at the Bering shipyard taking a tour with the owner of Bering yachts.. The two of them would get along famously ! Being a rock musician from the late 60's to today, I'm really curious to Michael's connection to rock ?? He may be a famous rock musician, or a producer, etc.. ?? It is interesting to understand the requests of the owner. I like his decision to keep plumbing in the room he converted to storage so that a future owner can modify the layout in the future. Your discussion with Michael was illuminating. He seems like a great character. When he visits Newfoundland, stop in my native home in Botwood on the NE coast and explore our murals. If he waves at Lady Liberty in NYC, come visit me in Stamford CT just 20 miles away and I will offer he and his wife a meal and a rum.

It was such a special experience to spend time with this owner Michael. His knowledge and experience as well as his keen sence of design has made this Bering truly one of a kind. I love what he and the Bering team have accomplished. The fact that with all the changes they have made he had the forethought to keep in place all the necessary plumbing and wiring to return her to an original design for any future owner was brilliant. I really think what they have done is both beautiful and imaginative while making sure to keep her completely seaworthy.
Nick, I think perhaps this is one of my favorite "Meet the owner" videos to date! Partly becouse I am a fan of a long distance cruiser and Bering (in my humble opinion) sets the highest standards for so many reasons. Simply put, a great video Nick! Lofoten Islands and the midnight sun. A memory to hold for ever, a wonderful thing to see. At 3 am and the sun just kissing the horizon. I was on a cruise up the coast of Norway to the North Cape and back twelve years ago. I hope to do do it again next year. But to do it in your own boat and a Bering at that, you would drop anchor for a long time. Norway and its coast line is a truly beautiful place with lovely people.

What a wonderful ship. This is really a ship where you can travel the world. I congratulate Michael and his wife on this beautiful ship and wish them both a great time and always a hand's breadth of water under their keel. Thank you for the great impressions and, as always, loving comments from Nick.
That is a dream. If you were to Contact Bering and tell them what you want then it may be a wait until they build a hull. Having a Hull already built and all you have to do is change the plans for the interior would be a dream. Save a lot of time. Great boat and great company.

Wonderful plan for next year. Newfoundland is an amazing part of Canada and a little south Nova Scotia on the Atlantic is too. I toured on a boat through Nova Scotia and just fell in love with the coastline and scenery. I'm sure they will enjoy! Once again Nick you hit it out of the park! 😀

Love the open main floor, but it really needs a door to the front bow space. You see this done so well on the B'yond 37.

Loved this Nick. Watched the tour you did with wet feet, but this additional meet the owner adds another dimension giving the vessel real personality and a developing story which is so special. The owner becomes the soul of the boat and the adventure begins. Exciting.

We learnt that some yachts are not fit to travel around the world despite their majestic look …. Great video !
Great video. Super cruising boat. Yes I've discovered we seem to cruise at displacement speeds more and more. But it is nice to have two engines for redundancy and ease of manoeuvring

A brillant interview indeed. I am more and more intrigued by the Bearing Explorer yachts. I like running at a displacement speed, it’s relaxing and I want to take the time to soak in the constant vistas. I highly recommend the east coast of Canada and the USA and/or the absolutely endlessly stunning scenery of the west coast USA and Canada. More specifically Washington state up into British Columbia, Canada and Alaska. Have a great week Nick!

An interesting vessel. The 'crew' cabin (unless there is an escape hatch in the deckhead into the cockpit) - is not a clever arrangement where an engineroom fire means the only escape - is onto the transom, where the seastate may make escape difficult or ship water into that space. Not so keen on the engines being below plate level either, to be honest. Better to be able to see them at a glance in better lighting - I feel. But - certainly a vessel for long-range comfort.
Michael is an amazing guy, humble and very easy going. Thank you Nick for another great episode.

Meet the Owners is a fantastic series to bring the technical tours and capabilities and personal touches to life with the aspirations of the owners. Without getting too detailed or personal, in watching we are also a bit voyeuristic in wanting to know, particularly at this level of kit, the basics of how the wealth was made. The ‘rock’ sign/art seemed to be important to his life, was he a music promoter or I just don’t recognise him from a band🤣🤣 the open plan ‘apartment’ is great for their life vision of travelling the world, but perhaps it hid the handrails and other design features to deal with moving around in rough seas that Bering is also renowned for.
Fascinating to see another CZcams channel on board at same time - do these owners ‘advertise’ their availability?

Whilst not a boater myself, although I do work in the marine industry. What I love about these videos is the honesty of both the interviewer and the the Owners who have such pride "and why not" in their boats / homes. There is a genuine pathway to the tours and you glean the pleasure that both parties get in showing and been shown the fine craft. Keep up the marvelous work.

What a life plan, like you say Nick a dream for many. Also yet another really really nice owner! Was super impressed by Michaels confidence, knowledge and understanding of his needs from a serious sailing boat. I love the thought of "here's the route, lets go". The owner is obviously resourceful (££'s) wondered what sort of work he does or did? - Will Michael be filming his voyage and sharing? Would love to see some of it.
