Used to do my paper round for me after I lost my leg when I was 12 .

I always loved this man. Amazing stand up comedian. lived 7 lives and still does so much for the troops and vets.
Top guy in my book
That’s actually a really high quality interview and all credit to Jim and Nick for making it.
I have to say, it really pleases me to see Jim enjoying the fruits of his labour, especially with the amount of fake news and crap hurled his way by the PC brigade. I'm glad to see he doesn't take them too seriously. Kudos on his continuing work to support serving and retired servicemen.
Why you say bad word
@@stevemcfarland9533 Me say bad word because it's descriptive and fitting...
Na, he is a well known homophobia, misogynist
@@stevemcfarland9533 pc brigade isn’t a bad word?!
Well done Jim.
Many years ago (1990 or so) I worked in a bar in Torquay without many prospects. Jim Davidson was playing at the Princess Theatre for the summer and he’d come to our Pavilion bar with his helpers. They weren’t great to us but he was quite nice , I was never really a fan of his stuff but one day just happened to be me and him in the bar early on an afternoon. He asked me what I would do with my life , I had no idea aged 20. He said get out of this town for a start, join the navy and see the world. You’ll never regret it. Well I did get out, I got to university as a mature student and then went round the world, but as a business professional rather than in the Navy. And coincidentally just bought the very boat Jim mentions in this video, a Sunseeker Superhawk 43, so thanks Jim it might have taken a while but your advice paid off in the end!
I remember the Pavilion bar! Used to love sitting on the terrace overlooking the marina as the sun went down
Great story !!
coincidence, we’ve just bought a 43 as well! But I did join the Navy 😂 💪
Brilliant story mate
Ha ha, great story. I am also form Torbay and the best thing i did was leave at the end of the 80s. Funnily I am a ready to head back now thta ti am nearing retirement age. Sadly torquay has headed steadily down for years due to crap Council policies, but Brixham has gone the other way. Marina is nicer there too. I am going to get a Seaward 23 and go fishing...
“Nick, nick” indeed.
Jim is always full of surprises. I never realised he was so knowledgeable about boating. He has real passion. Always been one of my favourites.
That is the best interview I have watched in years. Pure magic.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Jim is nearly 70. He looks in terrific shape for his age, fair play to him.
I use to introduce Jim on stage at a venue called the Purfleet Tavern many years ago, he was always a gentleman to both me and my wife. A real decent guy.
Circus Tavern you mean ?
One of the best episodes. Jim is SO proud of his boat, he’s like the father of a newborn child. You can see him absolutely beaming and he talks with such enthusiasm, it’s so great to see and this is what boating is all about.
The people of this country are very proud of Jim for the massive amount of work he does for our armed services.
I’m 60 now and miss comedians like Jim , proper stars in the making!, love the boat to😊
What can you say. Great bloke. Great boat. Fair play. Wish the world had more guys like Jim.
JIm deserves everything he,s got . Brilliant ambassador to British entertainment and a massive heart for
U.K. servicemen. Thankyou JIm Davidson . O.B.E.
The woke brigade tried it a few years back... Jim saw them off!
.
@@ I did some research, looks like you are correct. How anyone can support and ask for the release of a paedophile is beyond me.
@@ It was something I wasn't aware of until you mentioned it. The proof is there for all to see imo. From reputable multiple sources.
A proper boat guy, obsessing about lobster pots, toilet flushing systems, and navigation kit, with an RYA Yachmaster Offshore qualification to boot, excellent. I always thought he was probably a genuinely nice guy, given his great work with our armed services, and he clearly is just that.
Yeh his charity work with veterans is just brilliant. I know a few Ex forces guys his charity has helped and he gets personally involved with every bit of it. Jim is a great guy👍
Kept our troops smiling through some really bad times this man 👍🏴
Great to see Jim doing well, and still doing things that a lot of us can only dream of (pootling about on a boat) AND especially great that he is still helping our brave armed forces personnel. Thanks for a wonderful and very entertaining video.
Had the pleasure of meeting Jim after a show in Hunstanton I was serving then he thanked me for my service we had good chat for a while it was fantastic to meet him
Well colour me jiggered the ONE the ONLY Jim bleedin Davidson pops up on my favourite boating channel . What a coup Nick awesome to see the legend looking so good . Fantastic to see him so tickled showing off his beautifull boat .
To meet someone who actually uses their boat and enjoys it , brilliant . Also Jim does so much for the 'Vet's ' makes him a real hero . And yes I love his none woke humour .
from one Patrick to another...
I wholeheartedly agree!!
What a neat character!
Love him and that someone supports us veterans.
@@clovermark39 The funniest thing I've ever heard him say was at a Gulf War concert, it wasn't a joke, it was a story. He was going to some South Atlantic Medal charity bash with Denzil Connick, and it was what Denzil said to Simon Weston. No, I won't be repeating it here, still funny as fuck and perfectly allowable given who said it.
the opposite to woke being braindead of course...
"None Woke Humour" = HUMOUR !!!?!!
I'll never go and see Jim live again as he made me laugh so much that my face hurt. It was the same type of pain that I got from watching Billy Connolly. These guys should have health warnings attached! Seriously though it's great to see Jim looking so good and enjoying life. He's a national hero and has supported our troops with entertainment through some very hard times. God bless him and thanks to Aquaholic for making a very informative vlog.
Billy Connolly being connected to this quarterwitted bigot?? Yikes!!
@@bhudster10 but you still watched the video. Yawn.
I have seen Jim live a couple of times. The last time I saw him, I hadn't been very well, and it really hurt to laugh, but I couldn't stop myself!
@@robcully5319What a stupid retort …..
@@stevemercedes3692 this was a year ago and it looks like the message I was replying to has been deleted as my reply wasn’t to Mark…
I hope he continues to live a happy life... seems like a nice chap, living a nice life..
Great to see Jim in such good spirits and talking about something he quite obviously loves and has a good deal of knowledge about.... Absolute Legend from my childhood here. Its a shame we are now living in a different world...His type of comedy is missed...
You can tell Jim's watched this channel.
He's into absolutely everywhere showing it off
And he did the tour in pretty much the right order, too. :)
I'm not interested in boats as such but I couldn't stop watching Jim and how proud he is of his boat. He certainly knows his boat stuff and what a top bloke he comes over as. Long may he continue to boat about and entertain our armed forces.
I've been avoiding this episode for some time as I have an aversion to celebrities...but I have to be honest and say he has won me over! A truly wonderful boat, really really love that boat, and a very normal humble kinda guy that really, if I met him and got chatting on a quay I'd invite him for some beers...I love his passion for boats and his self deprecating sense of humour. And I like how someone who was at the top of his game on TV still has to think twice about the money he spends on his passion...that brings him straight down to the level of the everyman... and I like his continued support for military personnel. Great interview, and a real privilege to go onboard someone's beloved boat and be party to their passion.
What a character! Fantastic. That was really worth watching, not just for the boat, but for him. You know what would look really good in his saloon, even behind the table he can't get around? Blue Aquaholic cushions. Just add that extra special touch.
Seriously - these 'meet the owner' videos are just great. Thanks Nick.
Absolutely agree fantastic.
Jim Davidson - Love him or loathe him you can't help but be swept along by his infectious enthusiasm for his boat, aided along with Nicks genial questioning. You guys should be on TV - doh! This was really nice viewing - thx to you both
I would watch these two walk around talking about anything. I was laughing the while time.
Fantastic bloke and hasn't lost even a micron of his ability to entertain. A great supporter of the Armed Forces and did some fantastic entertainment tours for us. I still spit my coffee out watching Sinderella :-). God bless you JIm, all the very best to you mucker.
OMG Charlie Drake too.
Cheers Jim for showing us your pride and joy. Nice to hear a true boat, one that's got a few tales attached. Nice to see the engine room too.
To JIM, As a former U.K. serviceman for 15 years. You deserve everything good in life for everything you have done for us.
Enjoy.
Boat was lovely, but what made this was to see a British Legend being so upfront. Thank you Mr Davidson for taking the time to show us round and have such a candid chat.
I wholeheartedly agree. One of the best interview/chats I've seen in a long time.
Totally agree and keep up the Veterans stuff too.
@@peterneville9835 Fear, Logan, Neville -
totally agree, now let's cast off and go on a sightseeing tour for a fortnight!
Ah, the great Jim Davidson still sharp as ever. Really nice to see him again fit and healthy, and wow! What a beautiful boat he's got.
I know nothing about boats but this was so interesting to watch. Followed Jim since 76! Great comic!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Me too ..going back decades .
From.. '32 knots downhill' to 'so I can carry more booze'
Brilliant!
Thoroughly enjoyed this Nick.
Pretty sure you and Jim are the only two people who can keep viewers/fans entertained talking about toilets.
Yeah, those two comments especially made me laugh! Brilliant guy!
Nice to see someone who quite obviously knows and uses his boat and understands the reality of boating. Great video Nick
Jim was very polite to me, he came into the pub I work at in Surrey called the Windmill, with his wife and mother in law on Boxing day for something to eat,he was a good sport and most appreciative, a real man's Man.
I think that boat seems to encapsulate Jim perfectly. It's understated and has great personality. Loved the video and if Jim sees this, thanks for all the work you do for the forces and veterans, it is appreciated!
Great to see a boat that has been upgraded sensibly and is actually being used. Jim’s openness around costs and pragmatic approach to boat ownership is refreshing and indicative that this is a real passion for him, not an image-building exercise. Great tour, great stories, thanks Nick & Jim.
Love Jim to bits. He reminds me so much of my father who passed away just yesterday in Dorchester hospital ages 83. My dad liked to think he was as funny as Jim but he wasn't...nowhere near (sorry dad). I saw Jim in the Falkland Islands back in '82 just after the conflict ended. He was doing his stuff in the hangar onboard a ship and I remember it like it was yesterday. A wonderful, generous, very funny man & I will never have a bad word said against the man. Loved this video - and keep up the great work Jim! Love & respect x
@@somethinglikeanonymous1773 oh god please. Do you know how much charity work this man does for veterans and how many peoples lives he’s saved?
@@somethinglikeanonymous1773
You are very bitter about something, you haven't the guts to use your real name, don't have any friends, and if you don't like Jim then don't watch him, switch off!!
@Isobel Atepney Good on you Isobel. There's always one. Jim was funny then and just as funny now. God bless you too x
@@dennisjeffs4239 His style of humour makes him popular with The Forces....He gets paid for his gigs and the charity is a very selective one .Jimmy Savile used his charity as cover...I don't suspect J.D. of such excesses but doing charity work and entertaining the military are cosy niches.
@@somethinglikeanonymous1773 lol i reported you too.
This was an absolute pleasure to watch, never realised the Jim was so into boats and what a nice boat it is. Absolutely loved the time he took to show us round and explain the reasons for certain choices and have such an enthusiasm about it all. I was lucky enough to appear on the generation game when he was hosting not as a contestant but as a surprise for one of them. This meant we go to spend the day watching the rehearsals and various takes as around 20/30 of us sat in the audience section. It was amazing to watch and Jim kept us all entertained throughout the day and it was a day I will never forget and I have never laughed so much. Thanks to you both for this.
Jim did a fantastic speech at the comedian “Jethro’s”(Geoffrey Rowe) funeral last week. Down to earth, touching and hilariously funny. Did him proud 😊👍.
Jim Davidson, what a genuine nice guy. Many moons ago I played in a small gigging band and we supported Jim at a flying club in Lancashire, well before he was famous. I knew then that he’d go onto to bigger things. A good night and a good laugh was had by all. I love his proper enthusiasm for his boat. You can tell he actually uses it, he knows it inside out unlike some boat owners. Great to watch. Cheers Jim 👍 and thanks Nick.
Hello from hot and humid Milwaukee...
What an absolutely wonderful character Jim is! Had me smiling for 38 minutes and 57 seconds.
Thanks fellas for getting my Friday off to a wonderful start!
Hey there Milwaukee! 🙂
I saw Jim in the Falkland Islands whilst on tour there.
Exactly the same on and off stage. Absolute legend.
Jim Davidson, an absolutely fantastic British icon. Thank you for sharing a great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
This has got to be the best meet the owner video full stop. The legend, Jim Davison, what a lovely old ship, love the interior with the dropped galleys, the attention to detail that he’s upgraded to the ship’s systems is just spot on. Nice1. 🍺😉👍🇬🇧🍺
Blimey! What a brilliant video. The absolute legend that is JD showing us an extremely down to earth and true walk around a beautiful boat.
It’s obvious that JD loves this boat and rightly so, it’s stunning, but how “normal” the video was is a breath of fresh air!
JD obviously knows you Nick and your impartial but informative videos but the two of you really gel, respect each other’s paths.
Gorgeous boat Mr Davidson and some beautiful upgrades. Fantastic tour Nick and extremely well executed!
Top guest and a National treasure! Love what you do 👍
Love Jim Davidson and miss him being on the tv. I grew up watching shows like the generation game and big break (which was a great show by the way).
Good to see that he's living the dream and doing well.
Don't eat a bowl of milky cereal when watching Jim and Nick. It'll be a creamy mess!!! 😂
I loved Big Break as a kid, it was years before I found out the "funny snooker man" did blue stuff as well
I love Jim Davidson, used to watch him all the time with my Dad, such great memories. you can easily see how much Jim loves his boat really made me smile.
One of the best "Meet the Owner " videos I've seen from Nick. Thoroughly entertaining, I never knew that Jim Davidson was such a boating enthusiast.
Such a nice guy. The work he does for the armed forces, raising awareness for Mental health conditions, and providing a little bit of light for those in need is awe-inspiring. Great Video Nick as always, lovely boat, lovely owner.
Jim it was a pleasure to get to look around your beautiful boat. May you continue to have many more years sailing. You sir are a Gentleman and a legend.
I met Jim at a Charlton Athletic dinner many years ago. He had a procession of people asking him for photos at his table and he was a gent and chatted away to everyone without exception. He comes across the same in this video - just a nice chap.
Lovely boat too. Could easily live on that with those flash bogs!
I can't believe you didn't do a "Nick, Nick" joke Jim!
Stunning bit of kit absolutely stunning.
Brilliant interview. Been a fan of Jim's over the years so great to see him on aquaholic. Great boat shown in the true aquaholic fashion. Was only taking about Jim the other day at work as some of the younger lads not a clue who he is. We'll done Nick on doing this interview, thank you
I have not heard of Jim but I now am going to research him. By the comments he is a wonderful person.
Welcome to earth 😉
Beautiful boat . Jim Davidson is a legend does so much for the troops huge respect .
Why do all troops have to like Jim Davidson? My friend is in the army and prefers Jack Whitehall?
Not a fan of boats but this came up and saw Jim. It was brilliant. Great to see Jim happy. Can’t believe I watched a 40 min video and didn’t think of it once. Good stuff. All the best Jim x
I met Jim down the Falklands in 1983 when he came down to entertain the troops with Richard Digance, it was a great show and well appreciated by all who attended. though since i was one of the photographers at the RAF show he got a bit annoyed by the flash on the camera and told me to F-off but was nice about it lol. He also came back down the year later to film his TV special
As a young sailor on HMS Arrow, I remember the CSE Show as if it was yesterday - don't forget the late, great Tommy Vance... Great to see Jim hasn't changed a bit and a super look round his boat! Well done Jim and Nick!
I saw Jim perform twice in the Falklands - he put on extra shows for the civilian contractors building the new airport there - he was, and still is, very generous with his voluntary work.
Jim Davidson a proper comedian and total legend. Nick for me your best meet the owner so far thanks
Really enjoyed seeing Jim in his lovely boat,a great interview and Jim is a real gentleman😊

Saw Jim Davidson do stand-up about 10 years ago and it was absolutely hilarious. Properly “Old Skool” funny. And not the way you think “Old Skool” is. He had some really clever stuff in his set.
Huge Jim Davidson fan and a huge Nick Burnham fan - can't believe the two are together in one video. Just brilliant!
What a lovely, witty, humble and genuine guy!
Love how enthusiastic he is. Great when you see someone discussing their passion.
Jim Davidson is a legend. I reckon Fleming should give him a free boat for mentioning them so often
Love Jim !!
great video really interesting to even to a non boat owner always been a dream of mine !!
What a lovely boat she is !!
I'm not from the UK so I'm not familiar with Jim, but he's a brilliant story teller.
In his day he was one of Britain's most prominent comedians.
He is a legend !
Jim he could paint the town blue just with a few gags
Love Jim Davidson, one of the greats they don't make em like they used to, great to see him.
Interestingly, we saw Jim in Bembridge Harbour, IoW, this Summer, and he was just as he was here, enthusiastic and helpful, even offering a fellow boat owner a lift back to the marina, which he really didn’t need to do.
Brilliant episode. I didn't realise how incredibly knowledgeable Jim Davidson was about yachts. A genuine enthusiast!
I've just realized, this man was a big part of my growing up and choosing the BBC over the local Dutch TV! 👍 Great to see him enjoying life on the water and what a lovely boat. Thanks too you and him for bringing some realism to the boat owning dream. 👏Loved it.
I love Jim and he deserves his boys toys, a good hard worker, a heart of gold and honest talker.
Jim, I remember seeing you at a 'smokers evening' at the Paras Barracks in Wood Lane, Shepherds Bush in the 70's. ( Comedians and Strippers ) You won 'New Faces' a short while later. Never seen it before, the other comedians came out of their room and stood and watched you, very noticeable. We were all Old Bill, and you ripped into us. You were and are fantastic. My Dad was a Sea Captain on Tankers and I had a love for boating, so had a couple of cabin cruisers and a 45 foot narrow boat (8) berth over the years. Love your boat, superb. All the very best. Bill Wheeler.
Enjoyed seeing Jim again, after many years.Glad he is still cheerful and unchanged, and has found a passion beyond the pubs and clubs of (Darlington) haha. I’m a Darlington man myself originally and I do understand. You worked hard, your enthusiasm was always infectious and your big heart is what will be most remembered. You look a lot like the antique dealer now Phil Serrel ! Haha. Love the yacht. I’d like to get one myself.
