  • The Parish Church of Válega is a Baroque style church with the characteristic Portuguese mosaic of tiles creating religious scenes.
    Inside, the baptismal font, in Ançã stone , dating from the beginning of the 16th century , and the main altarpiece , dating from the 18th century, stand out as well as the Stained Glass windows from Spain the the Hardwood ceiling from Brazil.
    Come along with us as we complete our move to Portugal. We are documenting our journey from start to finish, with an intent on living in Portugal pending our visa application approval. Our AIMA / SEF appointment now July 8th!!

    HELLO. PORTUGAL RESISTED 3 FRENCH INVASIONS, VERY CLOSE TO THE LUIS 1 BRIDGE, THERE WAS 1 BRIDGE OVER BOATS, WHERE PEOPLE FLEEING FROM PORTO TO GAIA THE BRIDGE COULDN'T STAND AND A LOT OF PEOPLE DIED. IT WAS IMMORTALIZED IN A LOW RELIEF KNOWN BY (ALMINHAS DA PONTE) TODAY IT WILL STILL BE PLACED CANDLES!

      We haven’t made it to Porto yet! I will track this monument down! Portugal has so much history, we are really lucky to be here.
