Caio Benicio on why he feels politics is the best way to help those in need

- Brazilian delivery driver Caio Benicio who intervened in a shock knife attack in Dublin last year has announced plans to run in local elections.
Mr Benicio will be running as a Fianna Fáil candidate for Dublin North Inner City.
He said he hopes to represent immigrants and those working in the gig economy.
The Brazilian native was hailed a hero when he used his helmet to intervene in a knife attack that left three children and one woman in hospital on November 23rd.
Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin said he is “delighted” to see Mr Benicio contest the local elections this summer.
“Caio wants to play a greater role in his community, and I think he will make a very fine public representative,” he said.
Mr Benicio will contend the election along with existing candidates Anne-Marie Connolly and Isabel Oliveira.

Indicative of the current state of affairs.....! The irish man bears the brunt of the situation, while the foreign gentleman walks off with a pocket full of cash and a goverment job. Definitely a pattern emerging here.....!

@@MiddleEastMagnets-by2di so because he saved someone's life his fit to service the local community. He literally talked about fellow emigrants and thing about the locals. But then again I don't think you care if the guy is fit for the job as long as he gets in. People with your mindset are dangerous.
@@kingeatking Did I say that? Let the people voting decide if he's fit or not. You have someone here stating their wish to help people and put himself in the public eye and your first thought is to have a go at him. Emigrants are part of almost every local community worldwide and it's a big topic whether you are for or against so I would expect him to speak about it. Oh and yes of course people with my mindset who are willing to think before they speak are of course dangerous.
