    An adventure isn't a real adventure unless you have to deal with a bit of adversity. It helps keep things in perspective. It is good to see that it really didn't dampen your spirits and you forged ahead. I guess that you really didn't have a choice. I did get a laugh at the end when ou talked about continuing on with a full SD card. Like that's ever happened to me. Lol!
    That 100 euro hold makes me think that someone at some corporate level has found a way to eek out a bit more profit. There's a difference between your actual purchase and the 100 euro which varies from customer to customer but will always be on the positive side. Multiply that over tens of thousands of sales corpoation wide per day and you have a tidy little sum of money that the corporation can add to its investment assests even if for you, its just for 5 days. An investment banker who is rather cunning can make a good sized profit on your ...and everyone else's money before they have to give it back. I don't know if I'm being cynical or a realist but, it wouldn't surprise me if that hotel booking website knew full well tha the hotel property didn't exist. I am pretty sure that your funds are not sitting in an escrow account.

      Good to hear unknowingly filling an SD card happens to the best of us 😉 about the transactions, interesting point, hadn't considered that. May well be something to it 🧐 glad you enjoyed, James ☺️

    Hey Ferdia!! You always keep it real. And there was a stark difference between Part One and Part Two. Just as I loved the clear blue sky and smell of salt water yesterday, today it was interesting dark cloud formations, the smell of rain and the Budget. You and your channel are real and authentic. I find that refreshing in this sell the fantasy culture we live in. As always the video is excellent on all levels ( ask Molly for specifics ). Really loved Portugal. Look forward to hearing what you have coming up for you and us 🥰

    I'm glad you missed most of the rain and that your judicious use of your unfrozen assets got you to Cordova. This is a beautiful video--I love clouds and storms. The only other thing I have to say is that the little pieces of paper between the cheese are to prevent the slices from sticking together so you don't end up with a block when you wanted slices. 😉

      🤣🤣 you learn something new everyday! Call me a puritan but I like my cheese as Aristaeus intended: a big solid block that could pass as a lethal weapon, something you could build monuments out of just as easily as sink your teeth into... oh my god...a monument to cheese, made out of cheese!! If I ever strike it rich... 🤤😜 glad you enjoyed the vid Molly ❤️ see you soon 🥰

    buddy, don't wanna sound like a smartass but you're going to get yourself hurt in those roundabouts. If you're not exiting on the very first exit, take the inside lane please. I'm telling you this as a car driver that wants to start riding a motorcycle and this is one of the things I've noticed with riders.
    Safe riding!

    • @unOrdinaryWorld
      @unOrdinaryWorld  Před 10 měsíci +4

      You're right of course, these cases happen when you don't know where you're going and you don't have GPS: sometimes you end up going around the roundabout further than you anticipated, having to take the 2nd or more exit as you see the signs despite having entered the roundabout in the outside lane. Not ideal, but it happens 😬 as for the other riders you see, I can't speak for them but here's two reasons you might also see riders doing it - hogging the outside lane or blurring the lanes - both because crossing lanes in front of cars invites a higher likelihood of a collision than sticking in the outside lane, and also to maintain momentum that they would otherwise have to interrupt, slowing down to hold the curve of the lane which would either cause the bike to run upright or invite the bonnet of the car behind to become rather intimate with your rear wheel 😣 bikers tend to circulate slightly faster than the speed of traffic because, paradoxically, it's actually safer for us. That said, I can't argue with the rules of the road, so when it comes down to that, ignore all the above! In reality though, sometimes you just end up in the wrong lane when you're navigating purely by road signs (like in the previous video which meant I had to drive through Porto because I couldn't change lanes safely - because of a speeding moped swapping lanes behind me) or you have to bend the rules slightly in a "lesser of two evils" scenario because, in the case of a collision with a car, the bikers always going to come off worse... hence why we rely on avoiding potential immanent danger even if it means "breaking the rules" and getting out of trouble faster than we got into it 🏍️💨
      Thanks for leaving this comment, don't feel all the above is either defensive or in disagreement with you. I agree with your observation on my road positioning, and all the above is only the subtext explaining the situation I was in, and potential situations bikers occasionally face. The main point stands: try to be in the right lane! It's mostly the safest for everyone... most of the time 😜✌🏽🫡

      Love your videos, Ferdia! Plus your historical knowledge is admirable, I have learned so much from your travels, just being able to travel the country side of these different countries is so eye opening for me. Can’t wait for your next adventure.❤❤❤
