  • The Toyota Dyna-Saw truck has been a brilliant piece of low budget magnificence right up til one early morning a few weeks ago, where I had lined up to collect the glazing for our house build, and transport it up to the farm. When I arrived at Dads to start the truck, try as I might, it just wasn’t interested in firing.
Our hunches led us to suspect a fuelling issue, so I suspected a fuel cut solenoid.
The only electrical component anywhere near the diesel injection pump was located in a nasty location, out of reach of normal tools.
Thus some major disassembly of the pump and engine mount bracketry was required to get enough access to undo the part.
Next step was to try to find a replacement, but this was discontinued! So the last resort was to attempt a repair on what remained of the part.
Join us as Bruce Whitham and me get up to our usual hijinx, lose the patient a couple of times on the operating table, have a brief intermission to repair Bruce’s laser tape measure, then get back to work with Bozo ever vigilant to catch us out at a moments notice!

No wonder they can charge what they do for them. Microsurgery without the anaesthetic! Great work!

All that and it turned out the resistance was already wrong to start with and the coil was bad. LOL That would have been my luck.

Hi JB ... Had to watch this a few times .. lol. I thought the Dremil would have come out long before it did. Wonder if the original Coca Cola would have done a quicker clean on the battery terminals lol .. & .. G'day Bruce .. You did well with the Catering .. lol.
Overall Great Joint effort & .. the sensor worked lol. BTW Hot Glue is a Good cure all, even for Electric Drill Cases lol
