Dear Leonid, Alexey Sedov & Kir Popov! In the last two studio recordings, the images of the videos are a little veiled! Are new lights or cameras installed/used? I'm waiting for your answer! Thnks!
Roman… I found the “Easter Egg” that was placed in this video at 3:50. Violinist in tan blazer has headphones at all times except for the two to three seconds at 3:50ish. I am speculating this was done on purpose to see if any viewers are focusing on the strings instead of the band. Though Anna has caught the attention of some, this talented lady will definitely have some of the male audience members flying west, east, north and south… at least in our dreams. Where do we send her our money? LOL.
As someone once famously stated.....MORE COWBELL!!
Hope you will visit us in Canada sometime soon!
I swear they try to find the most complex songs and arrangements and then make them even better. The talent is always off the charts
They really do nail it
agree
Adding strings make the sound so original and realistic - just like the original studio version at Thunder Sound in Toronto. I was hanging around there when it was being recorded. Such excitement!
Another thing great is the electronics and much better recording.
AGREED 100 PERCENT
This is by far Vasily's best performance. This song really fits so well with his vocal strengths. I enjoy the power he puts out.
Russian version of Bob McBride!
Wow! That was a fine performance by Vasily and the musicians. The power was fantastic!
Excellent drumming Igor!
Bob would be smiling now
He is really an amazing singer.
I think the drummer is not just the best in Russia but the best in Europe!!
I love watching him!! Incredible!!
Igor is amazing!
He looks like he should be cooking at Dennys but he a freakin beast on the drums. I'm a huge Igor fan.
“Sticks” !
Is there nothing Igor can't do with drums?! As great as these musicians are, his play drives the songs.
Words fail to express the full excellence of this masterpiece.
Took the words right out of my mouth! Incredible performance! You could tell they were all completely in to it, and enjoying every note; especially the strings! They LOVED it! Haven’t seen all those smiles and sheer enjoyment from the strings before.
True👍everything is unbelievable 😂 each time I watch these musicians and singers I discover new things to love❤
Igor is such a boss on the drums. What a performance by everyone...
I agree, he's great
World class pro. They all are.
Listen to the kick drum....at that tempo, simply amazing.
amen... truth
I marvel at his playing every time I see them.
A Russian band playing a Canadian born song with a sax player wearing a Canucks jersey. Love it! Well done.
❗️
♥️Absolute Truth😍
❗️
This is amazing 😂😂
I know, right! Great touch
One song that was so enjoyable years ago. Back with better recording. Excellent and thank you very much.
When are you guys going to come play in Canada’s?
Awesome to hear Vasily on lead vocals again! He's got an incredible voice! We need more Vasily songs!!
Everyone is going like a bat out of hell, but Igor is really in overdrive.
So nice to hear Vasily again on lead vocals, he has such a special warm rock voice. ☝
Yes, at last a Vasily special!
I think he sounds just as good o better than David Clayton Thomas back in his Blood, Sweat and Tears heyday.
He's like a turbocharged David Clayton-Thomas. And he can sustain a note!
He reminds me of Bruce Springsteen when he was young, except cooler.
Vasily is starting to look like he's regressing back to the '60's lol
Leonid’s face at 0:21 says it all. It’s gotta be fun to make something so great.
Totally agree!
True musicians. The joy of playing great music with talented players trumps everything!
I noticed that too
I find it quite annoying that fake smile
@@archieluxury7959 I've played in various bands for 57 years. It's not often, but when everything is right; the group, the song, the mood, and the stars are aligned perfectly, it's a smile you can't keep off your face. I believe that's what his smile is about. I can't imagine the pride he must have leading this incredible group.
Give that string section some love. ❤
The bassist always looks like he's having his best day ever.
I've always wanted to learn to play bass. And if I did I would play with that same joyous face.
That's Leonid, the founder!
Leonid play the best and he own the stage
This one is out of the blue! And I love it. I am a big Lighthouse fan from back in the day. I can still name most members, I believe. One early Lighthouse concert I attended was at a small venue arena in Toronto suburb of Aurora, Ontario likely early 70's with now legend Bob McBride singing his soaring lead vocals. Lighthouse was a exceptional ensemble. Leonid and his friends, as usual, crushed another home run with this bomb.
Ill call you friend. Old enough to remember. Sometimes its lonely here
Grew up in Oak Ridges, just south of Aurora. I was just a little young in the early 70's to go see them, but I loved listening outside my older brother's bedroom, to this wonderful music.
Out of the blue. Understatement. Although one of Lighthouse more Chicago styled music.
I'm from Oakville long ago then Toronto. Child of the 70s baby!
When I got into L&F back a few years I sent a message asking if they’d ever come to Canada and I put it out there that One Fine Morning would be killer song for them to cover. It has all the elements of a great L&F ensemble! I’m not saying they did it because I asked nicely 😂 but I’m glad they did as I knew they’d knock it out of the park! ❤ 🎸 🥁 🎤 🎻 🎷
@@rogerhuber1457 L&F coming to Canada is completely in the hands of a Canadian promoter or venue to bring them there. L&F will play anywhere that invites them. That’s why Germany got a show, and Vietnam as well. Plenty of attempts by Canadian fans have been made to find a place, but nothing has come of it.
Horn section is out of this world. Tone, precision, huge range, and tight. One of the best I’ve ever seen and heard.
The saxophonist is WILD in person!! He jumps around all over the stage, very goofy and fun! He even came off the stage, down into the audience at one point!
@@rebeccav9969too goofy, and is a distraction ... But excellent player.
@@TheoSmith249
I didn't find it distracting at all, but everyone is different.
Yes!!
Thought the sax player was out of control drawing attention to himself instead of the or person that was needing the attention. He just needs to stay in his lane and he can be as weird as he wants!
Very cool! Great job! Amazing musicians! I miss my dad so much! Thank you for this fab rendition of the song and tribute to my dad! 😢❤ RIP Bob McBride
I did not know this song or Lighthouse, but your father must be grinning from on high.
Loved your father's voice and I even have one of his solo albums. From an old Canadian!
I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad was a great singer! I remember when this song first came out and, as a trumpet player, I immediately loved it! I have been hoping for a while that Leonid & Friends would cover One Fine Morning, and I'm so glad they did, and that you got a chance to hear it! What a great tribute! I'm sure many young people will be introduced to Lighthouse for the first time. The music lives on! God bless you! ❤
That's odd. Google/Wiki says Bob McBride only had a son. Wonder why?
@@dougrogers835 You made me curious, so I looked at an obituary to confirm that he only had a son, Shawn. Interestingly I saw another person claiming to be his daughter but her name is Lara.
I have no words for this unbelievably talented group!!! They nail every song with such perfection!!!!
Whoa! That was one powerful performance! Vasily’s voice is the perfect match for this Lighthouse classic! Konstantin absolutely shredded the lead! Igor was a monster on the kit! And the band was tighter than a stretched rubber band! 👊🇨🇦
Good lord, the orchestra! the choir! the works! Mind blowing
My thoughts exactly!
Yessss!!!
Igor on drums is fantastic! Always loved this song!
I was a freshman in college when this came out. Must have listened to it hundreds of times since then. Their performance absolutely rocks. I’m blown away!
I remember the summer of 1971 when Lighthouse released this song. You have recreated this song with such vocal and musical expertise it's nothing less than amazing! Thank you Leonid and Friends for all you do!
Being a Canadian who was a teen in the 1970's, this is amazing for me to hear done so well. I saw Lighthouse play this back in the day....
And...the original band...DID IT MUCH BETTER!! IMHO
This version is incredible, don’t you get it🤷🏾♂️
Same. Many times. Once we had them at our high school. Terrific band!
my dad had the one fine morning cassette back in 72' we would play that song alot it was on cklw am radio in Detroit alot too.
Saw them at UPEI just after they released this song...this is an excellent version, but the lead vocal's accent throws me off a little compared to the original...instrumentally though...wow!
This it totally insane! I cannot get enough of Leonid & Friends! They brought back a great song from the 70's! They all look so happy playing this song! I absolutely love it!!!
“They all look so happy.” My thought exactly! 🇺🇸
More COWBELL!!
@@ronleight9341more cowbell when they cover Chicago "I'm A Man"! 😂😂
The STAR of this production is the entire sound . Leonid , composed this and I think it is his genius that put mics in front of every singer, instrument, orchestration, percussions , all blended to make an amazing blend of and depth of sound the songs really have. Even without changing hardly a note, the songs are richer and fuller than the originals.
A Tribute to the artists and Tribute to MUSIC.
Leonid and Friends have done a very fine cover of this song. But your suggestion that Leonid composed it is slander. It was composed by the late, great Skip Prokop and recorded by the Canadian rock/stageband group Lighthouse in 1971.
@@marshduncanson4150 A better word would be "arranged", so your point is valid. However, the gist of the OP's post is Leonid's skill not only in the arrangement, but in mixing the total sound. He's unsurpassed in that department, IMHO.
Agree fully, except for the comment that Leonid did not compose this piece, but he certainly arranged it. I don't know the original instrumentation as done by Lighthouse in 1971 other than the rhythm section, horn section and strings, but I find the mixing and overall effect to be superb. Clearly the result of great ears and much better technology than in 1971. The bass voice not only in the bass guitar but in the bari sax and trombone really provides the power in the overall sound. Drumming provides the style and Vasily's voice along with the backup vocals is the icing on the cake. Exceptional performance!
Another song that digs deep into my memories. No one writes tunes like this anymore. Thank you for bringing this back into my life. Konstantin on lead guitar was on fire! People need to understand how hard this solo is at the end. He’s a rock star. ❤
So true. For the life of me, horn sections add so much. You’ve got to figure this sort of music style will cycle back around.
I haven't heard this song in ages! Really cool song.
The moment I saw the song title, I knew that this would be Vasily on vocals and he absolutely OWNED it! Bravo!
Vasily has such a strong masculine voice. This song is his best work !
I keep coming back to this incredibly powerful cover of a fellow Canadian band. The vocals, the dedication to the original, the joy on the band's faces is pure magic. Thank you, and thank you for the homage to my hometown's hockey team. :)
You know, if it weren’t for Canada, Hollywood would be a ghost town. I wonder how many of my fellow Americans have no idea how many incredibly talented performers that they love are Canadian? I have to all of my relatives in Canada to thank for keeping me up to speed on all of Canadian talent here in the US. Where would we be without the likes of Gordon Lightfoot, Lighthouse, Anne Murray, Celine Dion, Donald & Keifer Sutherland, Diana Krall, Et Al?
As a bass player for over 25 years, I cannot believe how great the drummer is.
I find his Jazz Bass to be nasally, even for a J bass.
Retired professional drummer from Los Angeles here, Igor is all meat, no veg, no starch, pure protein baby!!!
"911, what's your emergency?" "Ya, I'd like to report a murder." "Who was the victim sir??" "This SONG,!! Igor KILLED IT!!"....hahahaha
@@drew-shourd ... bbbwahaha .... totally agree
I knew if I waited patiently, ate all my vegetables, and clean my room eventually you would get around to this song. You couldn't not do it. I am so grateful that I don't remember the vegetables and I gained much space in my room. And I no longer need glasses although my teeth are a little bigger up front. Now, how about something with a Latin flair? "Suavacito" by Malo. THANK YOU!!
Perfect choice!!!

Hope you get a chance to go see them in person!
what a great band! Igor kills it on drums! wow!
OMG!!! YOU GUYS ARE SO GOOD!!!! One of my all time favorites!!! Now you need to do another 70’s favorite with horns--Chase - “Get It On”!!!❤️
And handbags and glad rags
I’ve been asking for “Get it On” for 5 years 😂😂😂😂 I asked Leonid in October…. Sadly it seems to be a too many horns issue, but if anyone can, he can❣️
Still got 🙏🏻 fingers crossed!
@Shari Denker well, technically chase had four jazz trumpet players so that doesn't match up Leonidas & friends and the really go for authenticity
Omg. These guys are so good. Next time maybe a tower of power song.

Omg, me too.
So was I !! I knew they would pull it off perfectly
A great version of the original by a fantastic Canadian group Lighthouse with lead singer Skip Prokop!
Agree, fantastic Canadian band, but the lead singer of this was Bob McBride not Skip.
Take it from me, from Toronto and knew Lighthouse well….that was bang on excellent.
same here, To guy myself & these guys absolutely killed it!

cant wait to see them in a few weeks in Durham NC!!!
Front Row and Meet & Greet in KC this September.
This Wednesday in Chucktown! Saw them last year, very impressive, one of the best concerts I've seen (top 5 out of a LOT)
You have reached a new pinnacle. Everything about this is incredible: the horns, the vocal, the piano, the guitar, drums, strings, of course Leonid on bass, the arrangement, the mixing, and what did I miss? Amazing! Please add this to the live show set list!
"what did I miss?" The sustained energy!
@@barryanderson3910 And the obvious enjoyment
It IS in the new tour’s set list, and having seen it multiple times now, I can say that like anything L&F does on stage, they do it perfectly, even without the added instrumentation of the studio recordings.
It was a high bar to reach but oh my oh my they just BLEW past it!
All these years I imagined watching this song being played live and hearing every instrument. As always, Leonid and Friends killed it above and beyond. Excellent rendition!
Saw L & F perform this tune in Los Angeles last night. Words just can’t express how wonderfully talented this group of musicians is!!! And their enthusiasm and spirit adds to the joy of seeing them live!!! BRAVO!
Seeing them June 1! Can't wait!!!
“One Fine Morning” [1971] was written by Skip Prokop. On the pressing above his surname was incorrectly spelled Propkop. The song is about waking to a realization that the love that is shared between two lovers “is finally right.” They know that they love each other and the universe is smiling on them. As long as they love each other they can truly live their dreams. He promises to buy her “candles made of stardust, and little dolls dressed up in moonbeams.” They can travel anywhere and make the whole planet their own. And when he’s apart from her, he’ll see her face, her smile, and hear her voice. The song is an anthem to what love shared between two people can do as it opens doors to higher levels of existence."
This ensemble is one the most, if not THE most talented, dynamic, exciting, and entertaining group of musicians you'll find anywhere in the world right now.
They are simply fabulous!
Definitely! Every young musician should be aspiring to be this great!
How wonderful ! 5 stars !
Igor is incredible on drums and lead singer nails it too
I didn't start breathing again until after the song. This is just unbelievable!!!
Bravo, everybody! And Vasily has never sounded so powerful.
Vasily’s vocal is off the celestial charts!!
More Lighthouse! Like Chicago magic there is Lighthouse magic! Great Canadian band.
Best cover of this tune in the WORLD. The horns make this tune the best ever covered.
Outstanding performance and SO close to original. Skip, Paul, Bob, Fred and the other lighthouse guys would be very proud of you. One of Canada’s finest bands.
Never a dissapointment. Thank You guys for bringing back that sound. Todays drivel lacks charactor, fullness, and honesty. This is full, Rich, expressive and well done.
Well said and yes it is drivel that passes as music these days
Also lacks real classic musicianship. Sorry, there's no substitute for live horns and drums! Never heard this before, but it's fantastic!!🔥🔥
@@seanswinton6242 Check out the Band Chicago. Leonid has made quite an impression on them by Mastering covers of their work.
Most of “today’s” music is JUNK, to be a true musician, one must learn 1 or 2 instruments, this band TRULY IS AMAZING 😊😊😊, LOVE TO SEE THEM IN TEXAS
A Canadian classic! I love you guys. You're all such accomplished musicians and the band is always tight.
Best version of the song, with best voice and superb musicians
The hardest working cover band ever! Masterful and epic performance by Vasilii and that brass section on this very difficult piece (I know because I practiced it with my trumpet back in the 1970's when it first came out)! Superb!!!!
Might be the best cover of any song I've ever heard.
That Man can Sing!! what a fine group of talent. I'm hooked! Thank you for making me happy!
as a canadian and i lighthouse devote , i am so pround that these russian musicians have recorde such a beautiful rendition of this wonderful song, merci beau coup to you all , julie from toronto
I could watch this all day! I just might ❤
Holy Crap! OK I’m exhausted !
Excellent! Amazing! I still have Lighthouse's original vinyl record... I'm 68... Now this IS music!
This brought tears to my eyes! Feel like I'm fifteen again and watching Lighthouse live on a summer's night at Ontario Place. thank you for this treasure!
Maybe the best vocal Vasily has yet done
Sp proud of how well he is pronouncing his lyrics. We all forget he is singing in a foreign language. Crazy good.
I still have the Lighthouse Live album after all these years and this is one of my favorite songs. Fantastically performed!
Just saw the magnificent cover of 'My Old School' and now this fabulous piece. I had to subscribe. Chicago and Steely Dan would be proud. Very proud. Masterful to be sure.
Wow! After all these years, they turn up the metronome, crank up the amps... and unleash Vasilii, The Beast.
A most underrated song & lighthouse had a few more worth re-recording. Outstanding song brings back fond memories!!!
Take It Slow is one of my favorites.
"Sunny Days" is a good one.
was wondering who would be the first to leave a hackneyed "underrated" comment ... now I know 😵💫

...right? ...and if you check the credits Leonid does much of the production, along with editing, plus writing out the transcripts for each musician to read from, directing the video, producing it. In some earlier videos, he was playing piano and not bass, I am sure he is a multi-instrumentalist, he is amazing.
Thank you so much! This is probably one of the best songs displaying the abilities of a band that is backed by a horn section. Lighthouse from Canada was one of the best bands of the 70s and this is just as good or better than they did originally. The late great trumpet player Arnie Chycoski from Lighthouse and the Boss Brass would be proud of the work of the trumpet section. Thanks again - that made my day!!
Also, hats off to Oleg for wearing the Canucks Jersey!!
Arnie on trumpet, and Russ Little on trombone - powerful! Lighthouse still tours, albeit with a few new members. Saw them last year with Jamie Prokop on drums, - Dan Clancy does a great vocal fill in for Bob McBride -
@@frasergovan5493 Lighthouse has had so many members pass through (think 71 different people at one time or another) you could make a dozen or more bands easily out of former members. They also were kind of like Tower of Power in that the singers were never the big thing - it was the musicians. Btw, Howard Shore was a sax player in Lighthouse - he went on to become SNL's musical director from 75 to 80 before becoming an Oscar winning film composer.
I have watched well over 100 hours of thier music. Everyone is Absolutely Amazing!!!! But the Drummer??? DAMN... He NEVER misses a beat. Unbelievable ❤😮😊😊
I barely remember this old song. When I listened to the original, this cover blew it away. What an intense groove! Their covers of Steely Dan, Chicago, EW&F, are beyond perfection. I have a new favorite band!

The drummer is insanely good! Holy crap!
I'd go to Russia just to see these guys .... as a fan of any horn band from the 60's, 70's and 80's these guys bring the memories flooding back. Five Star talent all around!!!!!!!!!!

I keep coming back to listen to this again! The band is terrific and Vasily's voice is just phenomenal!
I have to listen to it two or three times a day, every day, to get my fix. Damn, what a rendition! They are great!
OMG..tears of Joy! Thank you for representing one of Toronto's finest gems. Lucky to have seen them many times. So about that Canadian tour, Please!!

Great tune from a Canadian band. Well done!
Skip and Bob would be proud !!
Definitely the best cover of this song, and maybe better than the original.... absolutely outstanding
No lighthouse is way better
Fantastic drummer, great musicians, no need to say anything else.
I feel so fortunate to have learned about this band of exceptionally talented musicians/artists. It makes my soul happy to listen to them and see their joy when they perform. Maybe one day all people will realize that we are all part of the same existence and that we are meant to enjoy the wonder of everything and stop the insanity of hate, war and division.
Wow! Haven’t heard this song in decades! He nails it on the vocals like the original! Well done everybody!
Just found this amazing group of extremely talented musicians and singers a week ago, listen to most of their songs, and I’m blown away. Some accent in the vocals but the mixing, great musicians who play extremely tight and I have to say really seem to surpass the original artist! I’m a fan now!
I would live to know how Leonid got exposed to this music. This is a fairly deep track. I know it, but I'm a music snob who grew up listening to the early KSHE in St. Louis in the 60s and 70s. The song peaked at #24 on the Billboard Top 100 and finished at 154 for the year.
Anyway, hats off to Leonid and Friends for recording it, and crushing it.
Fellow music snob and I’d never even heard of this song. It’s a technical track for sure and something I’d pick if I was trying to show off my chops. It seems like their latest picks are to prove a few things to a few people. Boy do they make their point. The Carpenters?? As if Chicago and EWF wasn’t enough, they can play anything and hit every single one out of the park.
It was actually a risky thing for Leonid. He grew up as a child in Siberia in the 60s and saw The Beatles in a film produced by the Russian government denouncing the dangers of western cultural decadence. When he broke a string as a teenage electric bassist, he played his bass with only 3 strings for over a year. It was a challenge because rock and roll was considered a corrupting influence until the mid 70s in Russia (which meant that Leonid had to keep a very low profile). From what I understand Leonid was one of many youth that purchased both bootleg and original vinyl records (both very expensive, with the bootlegs often pressed on old x-ray scans). The records would be sneakily passed on to others. It was even more expensive for Leonid because the cost of these recording became higher the farther away you were from Moscow (and Siberia is a long way away.) Most of the music the bands he was in were cover bands.
OK, I listened back to back lighthouse and the you guy are absolutely awesome hate to say it but leonid and friends is better, awesome musicianship!😊😊😊❤❤
HOLY CRAP, I couldn't be more surprised or delighted to hear your studio updated version of this Canadian classic from the band LightHouse!!!
Also...they wrote songs like Sunny Days and Pretty lady that would be perfect for Leonid and the crew!
....I hope, I hope, i hope!!!

Nice hearing Vasily as the lead. Great voice and super, as usual for the whole group. You guys are the best!
The more I listen to it the more I think it’s better than the original. It has more clarity maybe because of the time it was recorded that back in the day to present day technology, but this is crystal clear and so so good. The whole Ensamble measures with precision and accuracy. Every instrument is worthy. Yes, will fly
