- I built this media console using shop sawn veneer and also used my new Lamello Zeta P2 with Clamex and Divario connectors to make it RTA (Ready To Assemble) or knock down. I must say I am very impressed with the Lamello Zet P2!

What a beautiful piece of work! I like how you show the complementary use of the Lamello and Domino together.
I’m so glad to have you back! I was just looking at my subscriptions and checking to see if I’d missed anything from your channel....Wonerful vid, as always! Thanks.
Thanks Tom! I never left! Just busy as heck and putting out videos is a priority, but getting stuff done around the house is more of a priority 😀
Welcome back Guy we miss you!
Great job, as usual!
Thanks so much!
As always wonderful work and detail. Your planning is impeccable!
Thanks Dan!
Beautiful work! Looks sensational!
So clean! I wasn't before but now I'm really interested in the Zeta P2. I think I will look for your old post on it on Instagram to ask my question.
Always enjoy seeing a video of yours in my feed. Great job as always and thanks for the detail.
Thanks Pete!
Beautiful work Guy!
Beautiful piece! Great to have you back Guy!
Thanks Luke!
The veneer jointer is awesome. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge here and on IG, Guy! Been listening to the podcast- finally a podcast with useful (and accurate) woodworking.
Awesome! Thank you!
One of your best builds to date! Not enough videos on CZcams with veneering. Keep up the great work
Thanks Rob! I love working with veneer.
I LOVE Mid Century Modern furniture! The knock down fasteners are very discreet which to me is a double benefit. Nicely done, Guy. Lamello Zeta sounds like a dessert, or maybe a drink.
Thanks so much!
That's a nice looking piece
A true masterpiece.😊👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 You Sir are a true craftsman. My favorite type of wood too. I just love anything made with walnut.
I CAN BE DECOR MY LIVINGROOM WITH A TV. thank for sharing!
Beautifully crafted Guy! A real nice replica of a period piece.
Thank you! Cheers!
Cool! Looks excellent as always, Guy.
Thanks Cody! I'm super happy with how it turned out.
Nice looking console Guy! The base came out great. Cool joinery on the entire piece.
Thanks! I really like the tool and it works great!
Beautiful Guy... I really enjoy all of your videos. Thanks so much for the work you do and for sharing it. Greg
Thanks for watching Greg!
Great video, Guy! Interesting joinery. Thanks for the video!
Thanks Dave! Yeah, it was a lot of fun designing and putting this piece together
Top job Guy. You are making it look too easy, especially with how the base clipped into the bottom panel 👍
Thanks Kuffy!
Absolutely beautiful Guy, I really like the new zeta setup it’s such a game changer. Great to see you back. Take Care. Happy Independence Day
Thanks Thom!
While this isn’t my favorite style of furniture it was fascinating watching you make it. I’ve never attempted veneer work but may try some in the future. The piece is outstanding. Guy, you do great work.
Thanks so much!
As always...The very best craftsmanship and video presentation.
Thanks for the nice comment Tom!
I'm in Australia and have just bought some swirly walnut veneer from NY State. Taking a long time to get here at the moment. I have been considering the best way to ensure the veneer edges are straight. Must confess have never seen it done the way you did it on a planer - thicknesser. Great idea Guy. Will certainly give that a try. Always enjoy your work.
Thanks!
every other week i watch this build again to inspire me to keep pushing and learn everyday, one day when I grow up I want to be like Guy!
Go for it!
Beautiful work!
Thanks!
Excellent Guy - nothing says class like Mid Century Modern and you nailed it - interesting breakdown joinery - I like it
Thanks Dave!
Thanks so much for detailed video. I’ve learned so much. Especially the 45’ router bit for the waterfall edge.
Again thank you
Glad it was helpful!
You have some nice machines
Amazing work as always. Simply the best.
Thanks Matthew!
Wow I know I say this on every video but you truly are a craftsman. I love your work keep it up sir.
Thanks for the kind words Dave!
Very beautiful! it was nice to see the build!
Thanks so much for watching and the nice comment!
Excellent work, Guy.
Thanks Steve!
Well...there you are. I was wondering where you've been. Looks like you have a few new toys in the shop.
HaHa. I love my shop toys!
Beautiful work, to the point video and use of connectors and tools, by the book.
Thanks so much!
Great build, Guy!
Thanks!
Guy, this is a beautiful piece!
Thanks Jason! I am really happy with the final piece. And more importantly, so is my wife.
NICE WORK!
Thanks for watching and the nice comment James!
Epic. Thanks for showing the veneer process.
Thanks!
@@GuysShop Really stupid question. What's the difference (apart from thickness) of using store bought walnut plywood to applying a wood veneer to plywood?
That’s a cool tool. Well done on the piece.
It's a lot of fun to use. Thanks Mike!
Beautiful craftsmanship Guy.
Thanks so much!
This is top shelf quality work...niceeeee
Thanks Joe!
Very nice Guy! The Lamello Zeta P2 looks like a good investment.
It's a helluva machine!
What a dynamite piece Guy. Beautiful work!
Hey Taylor! Thanks!
Ive just came across this video, I'm thinking of getting a lamella zeta. Im also into surround sound and hifi so I can appreciate mods in the back to allow for services and heat control. I would like to see it installed with the kit in it.Thanks for build
Thanks so much! There are pics of it on my Instagram account.
Stunning! Thank you
Beautiful work Guy! Thank you for always sharing with us.👌👍😎JP
Thanks JP!
Your very welcome Guy! Have a wonderful week!😎
Happy to see you back,Guy. Ive been following you for some time and you have inspired me to dive into veneering after your great walnut dinning table build. Did my own version of yours in cherry. This project was exceptional and offers some great joinery options. One question. Curious why you choose what looked like yellow wood glue instead of the regular veneer glue you and others have used in the past?
Thanks Joe! Since the veneer was 1/16" thick, there is really no danger of the glue coming up to the surface. The thineer commercial veneer can let glue up to the surface, so veneer glue is a better option.
Hi Guy, I hadn’t seen the solid edges under the veneer before this and I love it. Thanks for showing this technique. Would you consider doing this with a paper backed veneer? I’m curious if the edge could look seamless like yours did.
Thanks Guy. I enjoyed the video. You had talked about it on the ATG podcast and it was nice to finally see it. Was the choice for walnut veneer driven by wood movement and the desired design? I live on the West Coast and I can get rough sawn walnut for around $4 a board foot so I'm guessing it's not so much a cost issue. Just curious. It certainly a nice piece.
Wow so the only glue was in the veneer and the doors. That is just amazing and beautiful
Yeah, it was different being able to put it together and then completely knock it down for finishing.
Amazing!!!
She's a beauty, Guy! Interesting joinery hardware as well - thanks for showing that.
Thanks John! It's one of the few pieces my wife actually likes.
Nice work! I learnt quite a bit from this short vid. Also wondering, do you put any sort of wax or glide substance on the sliding door and the channel?
Very good and perfect work. Respect.
Thanks!
Belo trabalho meu amigo !
Perfetto...!!! Good job!
Thanks!
Hey Guy, another great demonstration. It was one of your other videos that got me to finally get the Incra TS fence for my Ridgid R45 table saw, which I actually love now that I added the fence. There were several things I saw in this video that had me drooling. I was doing a search for the Lamello Zeta P2 because I wanted more videos on it's functionality. Before this video I only saw the main use of the basic connectors and the basic knockdown connectors in other videos. In this one you showed several things I hadn't seen before. You also answered a question I was wondering about how it would be used in a real world scenario, in particular, if you would possibly need another system to compliment it. Answering that question, you demonstrated using the Festool Domino's knockdowns in areas that you couldn't use the Lamello connectors.
I always seem to find your videos a couple of years after you post them. I know I could click on the bell, but if I did that for every CZcams video I like, my phone would never stop sending me notices.
Thanks so much for the kind words!
The art of perfection.
HaHa. Thanks!
By far, You are my favorite maker who lives in Indiana, Iowa, Idaho, or Illinois. 😄👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Well that's a chunk of the midwest. Thanks Eric!
Just beautiful! I was worried you weren't going to use your domino now that you have the Zeta....
Oh yea, the Domino is not going anywhere.
Bellissimo, grande artigiano.
Awesome work Guy! 😃👍🏻🎇🇺🇲🎆👊🏻
Thanks Fred!
Firstly great video.......i'm a new subscriber to your channel and so far love your detailed work and projects too.. if i may i would like to know as too where you bought your walnut veneer from and at the time of purchase approx how much then, and your vacuum bag system ... what was the name and where did you get it from .......again thank you......
Interessting building technque. Thank you for sharing...
Thanks for watching!
Hello Guy. This is my second time watching this video. The console turned out great and as always your attention to detail is excellent!
The Lamello Zeta P2 and the Festool Domino and the Domino connectors really worked well together in this project!
I believe I have the same tablesaw you do (Powermatic PM2000) and was curious about the Incra fence system you have on yours. I know you have had yours for some time now and was curious if you are still happy with it and would you purchase one again? I am thinking of upgrading my fence system to one as well. Which length/width? fence did you get?
Also are you happy with with your Incra router table and fence system? If I remember correctly you built the the router table base yourself correct? Any changes you would do there?
Thanks Guy.
Ron
beautiful!!
Thanks!
Man you are great 👍
Looks awesome as always. Hey, why use the Festool connectors in the legs and not the Lamello?
Thanks Matt. The rails for the base are not wide enough to use the Lamello, so I used the Festool connectors. Those are very good connectors also, but they won't do mitered joints like the Lamello can.
Your work is always top quality. Question: can you tell me about the sanding you did before putting the finish on?
Thanks Isaac! I sanded everything down to 220 grit.
@@GuysShop Thanks for your prompt response. Keep the videos coming, I really enjoy watching and learning.
Great video, Thanks! Why do you prefer to use the router table to cut your mitres rather then the table saw?
I feel it's more accurate and a lot easier when dealing with a long miter like this
Beautiful Guy
Thanks!
Looks beautiful guy! You always have the coolest tools! WATCH OUT FESTOOL ;) OH and if u ever wanna get rid of ur domino..mag me😁 - Happy 4th to u and urs 🇺🇸
Thanks Joe!
👍👍👍 Nice Great build.
Thanks!
hi there, is there any play with these joints? I am just wondering that if the mid one was a touch out of line it may not connect?
What model of hold down is that on your router table?
Hello, I have a question about the Lamello. Do you think you can use the clamp biscuit connectors (not sure what they are actually called) to glue up wood panels (table tops) without using clamps?
you can with the lamallo Clamex connectors, they are designed to clamp the wood while the glue dries. Could you do it with the lamello knock down fasteners in the video? Honestly, I don't know. The nice thing about the clamex connectors is you don't have that little 6mm hole drilled in (which is needed to get the allen wrench in).. Obviously, the clamex are not made to be taken apart once joined.
I’ll sell my tools, see if the donut shop is hiring.
Fantastic work!
Thanks so much!
Amazing set up, love all the incra! Can I ask what ear defenders you use?? Mainly because they are festool green! 💚
Why is there always a detractor? I think the work is awesome.
Who knows. Thanks Gordon!
Zeta? Isn't that a type of pasta...I'm hungry.
Nice work.
HaHa. Thanks!
Do you have a reference for the channel for the sliding doors?
Not quite sure what you're asking me.
At 14:25 it looked like you were inserting some sort of channel into the slot you cut for the sliding doors; that the doors aren’t sliding directly on the wood. What is that?
which do you like better, the Lamelo or Domino 500?
Two completely different animals. I like them both for their use
Did you mill the 1/16th inch veneer ?
Yes sir, sure did!
Do you prefer titebond II over titebond III for the veneers?
For thicker veneers like this, either will work fine. I just had more of the TBII on hand
@@GuysShop what is the reason that folks would use titebond I or II ever? I realize that III is graded for harsher environment with weather/water-resist to some extent, but wouldn't that be good to put on everything? Sorry, I'm 'new to the game' :) Thanks in advance for your answer.
Hey do you live in northern California?
someone has too much money.. nice collection of tools.. and that lamello zeta aint cheap either
Wee that isn't me! The Lamello tool is on loan.
@@GuysShop I'm just jealous of that fantastic shop and tools
💯💯💯💯👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wow. This really turned out great. Tell your wife I want you to make more videos and less honey do stuff. 😂👍🏻
HaHa. The list just keeps getting longer if anything...
why not just use old fashioned dowels?
13:55 jeez thats dangerous you muppet
Okay, I'll bite. Whats so dangerous?
Well he doesn’t lack tools for the job👀👀👀$$$$$$$$$$$😳
