- In this 650 point match we have the second semi final of the Conquest Champions league. Its a match between two giants of the Hobby. Jeremy is going up against PJ. Last season Jeremy eliminated PJ can he repeat this or will PJ get revenge?

I dearly miss regular (or even semi regular) Green Dragon releases.... Feels like 6 months since the last episode.
They just did an episode on Dale not too long ago.

13:04 I think this is one spot where the game took a turn. I understand the play of getting closer for Heroic Moves + Banner.
However, if Aragorn just focuses on the Archers it does three things:
1. Keeps Aragorn outside of the enemy Hero’s range (VPs safe)
2. Contains the enemy from escaping to other portions of the board
3. Keeps Jeremy’s heroes munching through Army of the Dead troops, closer to quarter and game ending

Definitely got a little greedy there; those same archers ended up costing him the match

I do wonder if these dice are fairly balanced.
to be fair that is a question I ask myself in all of Jeremy's matches. There just never is not a 6 when it comes to important combats, heroic strike or to wound rolls. Also I do not rate this Army of the dead + gondor army list highly. Just no numbers at all. Also throwing aragorn into a surround with legolas is the only save way to lose him.
I thought there were a couple of combats in this very game where he didn’t get a six - he just had so much might that he was always able to get there

Which FAQ document is that in? Cause I'm struggling to find it and would like to confirm for myself (I use Elessar quite a bit, so it's kinda handy to know)

Really like both these lists and it was a good battle. Would be good to get an overhead camera for the dice role tray and perhaps the whole board.
I do love a good birds eye camera to follow the strategy and placement on the board

You are correct, The King of the Dead has 3 fate. That is exactly what we played in this game. He spent one earlier in the game so at that stage he only had 2 remaining

I think it was a huge tactical blunder from PJ to throw Aragorn in there, as the king of the dead was gone, and Jeremy had so many heroes left.
I think he should avec heroic combat the archers continuously, keeping them from the table quarters.
And maybe try to throw the king of the dead on the right to escape tauriel if possible.
But of course it is difficult to think about it in game and he is a great player so well done PJ ! I would have not done better anyway.
I also think there is a massive error in his list, he should of used return of the king and got a super cheap strider then elessar. Elsssar is just too expensive in an army of 14-15 point warriors and in the ll strider is literally elessar for way cheaper, only difference is no hourse and less defence.
Is that the dead legendary legion from Gondor at War? Is aragorn on horse an option if you take the Legendary legion?
He's running just a green aliance with Elessar profile
I think it is the Dead of Dunharrow allied with Minas Tirith. So not a Legendary Legion.

@@reslimenot just the horse. It’s King Elessar, so he’s Defence 7, with the armoured horse, as well as being a 6” banner effect.
Additionally, it allows him to bring some Fight 4 spear supports to help the army of the dead who are only F3
@@ajcolasante correct, those are a lot of extra point on aragorn's profile making him a real beast on battlefield at cost of some extra dead. Great meta-call for the tournament

My god, PJ with some of the worst dice rolls and luck I've ever seen. Every combat or roll Jeremy needed a 6 on it was like clockwork. Game was over after deployment.

That's correct. A spearmen doesn't count as in combat, so as long as he can be clearly seen a good archer can shoot him
Always felt warriors of the dead should have 2 wounds. Even with defence 8 they’d soft
18:30 Aragorn should not have killed the daughter as he's only wounding on 4+ regardless of defense stat...
Thanks for the comment. Anduril states that he never needs more than a 4. This means that he would would wound the daughter on a 3 so it was played correctly in the video

A follow up question though (50/50 it’s dumb or just tricky) - if Aragorn is striking a model with Anduril that is currently under effect of heroic defense - does he still need a 4+ or only 6s?

@@evgenyyakushev9304 Im not ConquestCreations but im 99.9% sure aragorn would need a natural 6 in this case, I'm pretty sure heroic defence trumps all special rules when it comes to dice results for wounding

I think pg should of just used return of the king and got a more cost efficient strider for 160 points and warriors then using elessar which is super expensive points wise and not that much better then strider. Strider being 160, getting a banner effect and getting anduril for free clearly out classes elssar who is like 225 points in the top of my head and gets only a hourse and higher defence.
Strider has to pay 40 points to equip Anduril, and only Elessar has the banner effect. And Elessar is base D7, and Strider is base D5
@nateponcini996 look up the legendary legion. Strider gets anduril for free and counts as a banner for spirit models. He is way more cost efficient by a land slide for 160 points over elessar. There is literally no argument for paying 80 points for 2 extra defence and an armoured hourse over a 160 point strider banner and anduril.
I don't see how laketown can win this one, but if anyone can do it it's Jeremy, let's go Green Dragon!

"Q: Do models have to be on the board to be able to use special
rules? (p.107)
A: Yes, unless the special rule only works when the model is off the board such as Madril’s Master of Ambush or Guritz’s Master of Reserves."
As Mighty Hero is a special rule, it can't be used off-board.

@@ciaosonoAlbertoG He can, GW just made another stupid FAQ clarification that just messes up standard gameplay. In that case, eagles and another units with "fly" special rule couldn't be using it to get to the board for example, which makes no sens at all.
