An Introduction to Conflict in MUSIC GAMES
In a desperate conflict,with a ruthless enemy
Also senbonzakura jumps in
@@MatDX-ej8nf and xi songs
Did someone say Camilla piano?
When you described Pop’n as “Dark Souls disguised as Hello Kitty” that was hilarious XD
"It has conflict" shares the same category as "doom runs on it" imo
Man, CrankY's a beast... and to think it all started thanks to BM98 or whichever BMS player came first (IIDX but for PC, free of use and with free content)
This video was a blast. I'm one year later to the party but this bangs hard. Great job!
it used to be Bad Apple hahah and I think Brain Power comes in second
FLOWER's pretty high up there as well
Conflict S17 PIU ;^;
All hail Cranky, the grandfather of rhythm game music.
All hail Conflict, the greatest creation of the Cranky
And all hail BOF 2011, the greatest event for Conflict to exist.
Cranky is dope but Conflict is NOTHING comparred to Matador ! :p
@@theolabbate1611 conflict is everywhere, you can't escape with cranky

Tbh it's content like this that is needed for music arcade games to move toward being mainstream. Nothing less than what I'd expect from you, pushing the community forward!
I don't know about you, but I think this guy is a fan of the song "conflict".
In all honesty, I like to see a part 2 of this video.
I'm not sure what I could cover in a part 2 tbh
@@SylvainHunter there are a couple of obscure/underrated games such as amplitude/frequency, dj max, osu, lanota, neon fm, lost in harmony and more. Maybe you can try to cover other unorthodox music games such as gitarooman, a song of fire and ice, and rhythm doctor.
And I'm not just talking about respect, I'm also talking about technicka
Now DJMAX Respect also has Conflict lol
It sure does!
Sadly on cytus dlc
This video is an introduction to the strange world of music and rhythm games! I hope you enjoy!

Geometry Dash :(
A note you should have said was that in contrast with the American PS2 Beatmania release, the Japanese PS2 releases were very well made and were popular with people overseas and went on until IIDX 16 Empress.
not only is this video extremely informative and thorough, it is also very well edited and really inclusive of all rhythm games :) thank you for making this! i've been playing dance games for almost 3 years and i've learned new things from your video
This video gets automatically placed into my favorite videos playlist.
This is probably the 5th times I watched the video and I unironically cried at the end, I am not used to see high quality content videos to promote rhythm games, it got me emotional.
This is the greatest video for rhythm game introductions. Thank you for making such an informative and wonderful video!
Awesome video. I've been mostly a DDR/ITG player since around 2001, also got into Guitar Hero while it was popular. But recently I discovered Sound Voltex and instantly loved it. I've only played a handful of times, but that was enough for me to invest in the new FAUCETWO controller from Gamo2. I'm super excited to be able to play at home when it arrives.
Requesting an update, how is the FAUCETWO controller?
@@TonesBalones It's great. Being able to play whenever I want and for free, I went from playing 8's and 9's to being able to pass 15's. I made an unboxing video on my channel if you want to see how the product arrived. I also recommend the review on a channel called tokaku. In short, it's probably the best controller on the market price-to-performance wise right now.
Conflict seems like to be rhythm games national anthem
Conflict was like in every single rhythm games
Super great video! Can't wait for the next one
im honestly kinda proud that I was able to see that gold rush refrence coming a mile away
Make it make money!
This is a great video that provides a lot of overview for something that many have grown to love. Great job!
Poem about rythym game songs:
Bamboo is love
Conflict is a law
Xi is the best
Cranky is too
Let's not forget
That camellia is
A great composer
And a popular face
Tachincy is too
Deservant for spotlight
He made ESM
And conflict too!
How about frums
The girl drummer?
With wierd polyrhythms
And cryptic MVs
And silentroom?
He makes bops too!
Those EDM tracks,
That may stop in track
That is all i can say
About rythym games
Their famous songs
And theirs pace
A great video ! I appreciate how you always work hard to make the rhythm games community growing
I keep going back to this video and recommending it to friends who I introduce to the scene, it's really an amazing entry point to the genre, aside from the fact that it's a bit long so you need to make sure you are sharing it with someone who is interested enough. We definitely need more content like this to make the genre more popular.
Brilliant video on a very under appreciated genre, where I live. Great to watch, good job
When drum session came out yooo the songlist was soooooooo big and the amount amazing hard song is what I love, and I literally have the arcade drum in my own room so literally have the arcade experience in my room
This video was informative for me. I got to learn about a lot of the more obscure rhythm games that I don’t access to.
Even though I'm already into rhythm games, this video really helped me to learn about a lot of them that are outside of pc/mobile and that I've just seen short clips or videos of
Very well explained and informative video, I hope this makes anyone try this very fun and addicting game genre!
Wow, this is the best beginner’s guide to rhythm games I have ever seen!
Nice work, lots of good info here and fun to watch too :D
Excellent and very comprehensive video! Two of my favorites are missing though, reflec beat and beatstream 😊
Great video, but it's blasting me straight back into my IIDX addiction lmao
GROOVE COASTER has Megalovania, and a few rhythm games out there have Neon Genesis Evangelion
Conflict is a rhythm game universal. Almost every game has it.
Conflict Momento At: 6:10,10:50,13:00,13:31,14:02,16:22,16:49,21:36,22:14,25:46
10/?? conflicts covered
very nice video. i feel like it might've been worth mentioning that many of these games are indeed playable outside of round1 or outside us/japan, as some arcades have bought them illegitimately. not as good as playing the online versions obviously but it can be nice for people who want to try the games out.
What a video, you mention pretty much all my heavy hitters
Send this to the Etienne
this needs more views, you deserve it
"Conflict is also here" Gets me every time lol
These are pretty fun though. I have an arcade place that I go to that has a good amount of these weekends.
Super detailed and well done video
You're abseloutely madman!!, thank you!!
Thank you very much for also Including ITG!
you won't believe how many people just pretends it never existed
Hi, my friend and I we have occasional talks about the internet between 2009-2013 and it seems that brung up the subject of "nyan cat" and he told me how he thought he crazy for describing the animation you made for it on the previous channel 8 years ago. I then remembered I watched it back then and I'm glad I could remind myself :)
Thanks recommendations!
wow didn’t see this until now. Good video hunter
Thanks Venny!
RIP Conflict - 2023 Pump It Up
conflict is so good, but man do you love it 😂
Nice video but you only missed Neon FM, EZ2DJ/EZ2AC and old O2Jam.
But overall I loved all but also sad too since not many arcade places (in my territory) has latest rhythm game, or sometimes unstable network to getting online cab (bemani ones).
This video deserves more views. (y)
I thought about including O2JAM and EZ2AC but one is dead and only running on private servers and the other can barely be found in any arcades outside of korea.
@@SylvainHunter Well you're not wrong tho, O2Jam right now is avaiable only for iOS. Only private server O2Jam PC that still exsist, they were... abnormal player... as EZ2AC yes it's very rare but the series & crossover song were still running. Ah yes, you also missed Dance Evolution but I just realized that game is discontinued.
@@HeatnixB Dance Evolution is at 12:27
There’s also Lanota. It’s super cool!
As well as Tone Sphere, which also has Conflict
The Round 1 near me actually has fans set up near the DDR machines for people playing it. I thought people had brought them but I see them every time I goo so it's good to see arcades taking this into consideration.
Ngl this is an amazing video. Subbed.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
OH MY GOD IT'S ME ON 7:06 and 9:59 via GLOCO's Vid.
I'm not from North America or asia and the most smimilar thing we have here is a game were you smack Buttons that have pictures of cartoon spiders on them
Also we do have music games
Since I only play Cytus 2, I was introduced to Oshama Scramble from maimai and fell in love with it immediately. So i can definitely see that t+pazolite's song would be the mascot of maimai.
Guitar hero does have a timing system. It is more subtle compared to other games if you hit the note, perfectly flames shoot out of the fretboard
great video. I was hoping for a comment on audiosurf, which is a bit unknown but cool nevertheless. hope to see pore content in the future
wow there's actually more rhythm games than OSU? no way
or the 4 modes in osu! ?
Thank god this video came out before FNF
I believe that 2020 was a huge rise for rhythm games, and FNF developer took a chance and makes it but ironically
I think that FNF ruined rhythm games in general. I mean, who the hell would like those weird voices of each character anyway
Really cool. Forget my previous critics! 10/10.
Why is that song so popular on rhythm games?
It's now a national anthem of rythym games
I finally got around to watching your video!!!!! Oh man so much Conflict :) I really Enjoyed! Good information, hope this will bring more players to an awesome niche :> D.TroniK
geometry dash is an interesting "music" game
you pretty much dodge spikes and other obstacles with various gamemodes and modifiers that are switched between over the course of a level
the reason i put music in quotations is because depending on the quality of the level it can either be exactly on beat with the music or not at all
as far as i know conflict isn't an official or custom level, but there's nothing stopping you from making it
Also wanna tell that rhythm games are for all ages! No matter your age is young or very old it still doesn't matter (except you have a disease that prevents you from this lol)
Just to know for everyone still searching where is Geometry dash in this video is because morely to platformer although it is also a rhythm based at first glance or feel
And for cytus thing there is one that similar: DJMAX TECHNIKA
P.s Well the video was published at the last day of the LAST DECADE!??
When I see Zyon, I cried. RIP Zyon
I love that music games now tend to come with a headphone jack so you can hear it much more easily over all the noise in the arcade.
im from california and when you go to round 1 theres alot of fun music arcade!
I tried ddr today, im a bit too weak to press the buttons so i gotta slam the buttons with my feet so i ended up having my feet hurt. It was fun though
Nice video!
Nerd
Taiko:I have megalovania
Groove coaster:I have the entire boss song, including deltarune
3:44 oh my gosh that infamous video
Saw the IIDX gold reference and I thought I was back in college for a good second lol.
I know this vid is a few years old, but there's another VR one called Ragnarock. You're a drummer on a viking vessel and hit the drums to the rhythm of rocks songs by bands such as Wind Rose and Gloryhammer. I tried too high a difficulty at first but it's fun
Poke your eyes every time you hear mention of conflict
as of may 2018, osu! has also licensed conflict. truly a universal song.
One for the next version: Dance Maniacs. Was great for me who couldn't bounce around on a DDR pad.
Also worth covering the differences between Beat Saber and Synth Rider.
Very niceu video 👌
This video deserves more attention! It's a super complete guide, thank you for putting all this effort making it. I'm just starting in rhytm games and I find quite difficult to find guides or where to start.
I'm from latin america so the only rhytm game arcade in my city is a pump it up one and several outdated DDR, if you make a list of how can I play there games from 3rd party sites it would be extremely helpfull.
My idea was getting arcade cabinets from USA but is super expensive and now I find out you can't play in them without a server omg, help me understand the card sistem too, can I get them in Mexico? are they usefull or what hahah
I´m going to take a look on your other videos, but I want you to know that you are the person who is opening a new world in front of me!
there are things known as shadow networks for playing mainly e-amuse games without connecting to official konami servers, as for obtaining the cards, it seems a lot of places have a source they use to mass import cards in bulk, but i have no idea where they get them from
take a shot every time he says a game has conflict in it
at the time of making this video iidx would have had 28 arcade releases, don't forget about substream that came between 1st and 2nd style
What have we learned? Sylvain loves Conflict.
it's true
Nice video
every time he mentioned conflict I held my breath lol
I love rhythm games!
it wasn't mentioned in the video but djmax respect now has a cytus dlc pack which contains you know it! conflict
8:28 There are now *30* BMIIDX games!!!
now 31
what's up with you keep mentioning Conflict? XD
anyway such an Awesome video
conflict is in every game lmao
because conflict is in EVERY RHYTHM GAME EVER
great video!! needs more views :(
A rhythm game without Conflict is no rhythm game at all.
-_Mark Twain_ (I think)
I can't believe you forgot the most important detail, Conflict is also in DJ Max (Cytus DLC)
The Cytus pack came out after this video
Are there included other game such as dance central or rock band?
This video is so good I signed into both my accounts to like it
No spijko inghlish bien pero me gusto este video, y trae muchos contenidos y juegos a los que deseo jugar

7:48 Hey, it's Rootage by BEMANI Sound Team HuΣeR+
Me - plays exclusively Osu! Standard and nothing else.
Everyone else - I've played the following rythm games
Looks like you need to broaden your horizons!
@@SylvainHunter give some recommendations please... preferably not ones with a lot of wrist movement, I already have wrist damage from Osu!
@@SanzuRiver ddr, pump it up, dancerush stardom, gitadora (guitarfreaks) are all i can think of off the top of my head which don't require you to use your wrists a lot
@@SanzuRiver DDR Extreme (NTSC-J) on the PS2
You have a full obsession with the conflict tune
I still only remember you as the "Guy who made the epic Nyan Cat fight back in 2011".
I spent almost 20 minutes asking myself where the hell did I hear Conflict. Cytus, that's it.
Gotta love this video, I am newbie in the field, I just played Cytus and Taiko no Tatsujin, but I want more. I'll play Osu until I will be better and.. well.. richer.
Anybody remeber Audiosurf here?
There’s also Arcaea, Dynamix, Lanota, Tone Sphere, Overrapid, etc.
audio surf?
@@yukko_parra in audiosurf didnt you choose your own songs?
@@SharayaYT Wow, I remember Audiosurf. Yes, you chose your own music and the chart was procedurally generated, not sure of the details of how though.
@@d0m2288 it was a good game :)
I saw a DDR 2014 arcade cabinet in indonesia
Thank God that Round 1 started making these games more accessible and popular in the west
