- I don't have much to say about this study other than it was written by Australian guitarist Karl Ogden from a book copyrighted in 1966. - an excellent tremolo study.

Lovely. Karl Ogdon was my father. It's nice to know people are still playing this piece.
it's a lovely and lasting contribution
I have been following your channel for years, and this is just another amazing piece from an amazing, unknown, phenomenal guitar player.
Thanks so much - yes I bask in my obscurity

Congratulations!
for making it through the piece? thanks for listening
Very nice !
Thank you! Cheers!
Dan, this is so well performed.
I mean, the notes are all there, but the phrasing is SO GOOD, and the rhythm notes come out so well.
Being able to do this is obviously part of your gift of being talented, but,
how much time is spent playing through this before you get it just just right?
Curious.
As a visual artist, I work through a similar process.
My acumen might be similar to yours.
Just wanted to know your thoughts.
(and please don't respond with, "Thank you , Michael.") lol
As always, love yer stuff.
Thank You, Michael -🥴 I really couldn't be certain about the amount of time involved. I've been working on the tremolo off and on for decades and this is one of the easier pieces where it's possible to play around with the phrasing and rhythm. I wish there were more pieces like it.
great technique bravissimo.***
thank you Chris - hope you're doing well

thanks!
Good Afternoon Daniel.
A great piece and you played it wonderfully. Your Pinky moves pretty well, that is quite a stretch. I am afraid my joints are too kranky and stiff to get anywhere near that range of movement. Yours must be well lubricated.
It is an interesting little study and it has just a touch of Tarrega about it I thought. It might just be that I can hear Recuerdos de la Alhambra in my head when I hear the tremolo parts!
Did you manage to catch any of the Solar Eclipse from your part of the world? We are too far East so saw nothing, plus the weather here has been so overcast.
Keep Safe and Keep Playing
Clive
Thanks Clive,
yes, Recuerdos is the classic tremolo piece. I used the 3-finger tremolo on the Peruvian Air and
the 4 finger formula on this one.
We didn't even attempt to see the Eclipse since we too were out of the path and it was cloudy
all day. We've had a few days of unusual cold but I'm looking at the upside of the frigidity:
The first big batch of mosquitos were killed, giving us a delay of a few weeks.
🥰🤩👍💐
Thanks!
Nice piece. Everyone plays tremolo differently. I've tried playing like this when i was starting with tremolo; wider movements from joint, angled position. But i found i could only play tremolo on the high E string since my fingers constantly came in contact with strings on either side.
yes, that's one of the treacherous things about tremolo - avoiding the crashes with neighboring strings.
any plans of doing more of the book for YT? :-)
I'm not sure what book it's from- maybe you could clue me in
@@danbluedeer dang, i wish i knew!
