and ? go read some reviews on watchuseek .. old movements .. no water resistancy... you can overwind them etc etc etc ... they lose 35% percent before you even buy them lol .. the hands are not gold but rhodium plated (which is absurd for this price range) many watches have terrible reading etc etc the list of problems go on .. rolex and glashutte are way above. jlc has zero decoration .. unless you go duo but those are gold and cost +25 k euro. even grand seiko has better finishing of the movement (not to mention the case ) so overall .. almost all good brands like, lange, glashutte, grand seiko, rolex, blancpain, and breguet. not to mention all richmonds watches are known to have terrible quality control as well as durability problems (with an expection a Lange) even vacheron has big problems ... people that dont know much about watch making might assume jlc is a good watch. but it really is not. and the watchmakers watchmaker is just a phrase that maybe made sense back in the days but these days its not true at all. lol not even to to mention their watches dont even have magnetic resistance (and its 2021 out there lol terrible !!!!)

Great video! Just one thing: 30m of water resistance does NOT mean you can go diving this deep with it, not even technically. It only describes the static pressure resistance, but little movements under water already increase the pressure significantly. A 30m watch is merely resistant to splash water and you shouldn't even go under the shower with it. Still a lovely watch which I would love to own one day. Keep up the good stuff!

Excellent video and coverage of the brand and its history. Worth it for a watch is always a difficult question as it is an emotional purchase and not really an investment in the same way that classic clothing is. For watch enthusiasts, a JLC Reverso will likely be worth it but for more casual watch wearers, an affordable alternative like a Seiko or even a quartz Cartier may make more sense. As a JLC Reverso 976 owner myself, I absolutely love the timepiece so it's worth it to me.

How thick is the duo-face? Is it top heavy? I tried on a medium mono-face and it looked very small. I tried on a gold large mono-face and fit perfect. I know the single face large are 45mm in length. The duo-face large are 48mm in length plus 10mm thick. I wish they kept the black tribute to 1931. They are difficult to find in the United States for under $7500, and the 1931 editions I find are from Europe, but dealers ask over $9-$10k.

@@rywk4225 Not at all, Rahul, happy to help! I use a 36mm quartz watch with a steel band from Mondaine's "Simply Elegant" collection. It isn't on their website right now, but can be found on Amazon for €339. What I like is that it's very thin, almost like it's painted on your wrist, and doesn't interfere with the tight cuffs on motorcycle jackets; and the band, of stainless steel mesh, is as comfortable as leather but isn't affected by sweat. The only functions are time and a sweep second hand; but if you insist on ANYTHING more (date!), your watch will be twice as thick. It also comes in 41mm, which I ordered first; it looked HUGE on my wrist, and I sent it back. The train-station-clock design is a bit of a gag, and you either think it's way cool or you hate it: but it most definitely is LEGIBLE, at least until the sun goes down. To me, JLC is the best watchmaker in the world for the simple reason that 2 of the 3 brands of the holy Trinity, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet has for sure multiple times in the history received JLC movements in their watches, there’s a reason why they called them the watchmaker’s watchmaker

Only downside is that they do not openly support non authorized watch repair shops which means that any repairs can become expensive and time consuming (one might expect that given the value of the watch but Omega does not do this anyone can order their parts meaning you can have lower priced repairs).

could you review the JLC Master Control SECTOR DIAL? It's the most beautiful watch i've ever seen and I can't find much on the internet on it. I think it is a limited run, maybe one or two years. classy watch. love your thoughts.

And with JLC, unlike Rolex and PP, one can actually go into the shop and buy it then and there. Imagine that! being able to buy it outright and not having to play some multi-year game...and usually at a fraction of the price.
